We already know that this show is not perfect. Looking back we can all say that there are some episodes that for one reason or another completly bombed.

Naturally I'm sure many of us have wondered "What if that episode had been written differently?"

Well that question is about to be answered as I present the first offical rewrite of several episodes from Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3.

Now I want you all to know that the episodes that are rewritten are ones that I believe should've been written better. They are my opinion and I will not change them so if you don't like that an episode you thought was good is on the list then don't read. Remember you promised to love and tolerate.

Back by popular demand, this is the second installment that seeks to answer the question "What if that episode had been written differently?"

This time, we're including episodes from Season 4 as well as a few Seasons 1-3 episodes that didn't make the cut last time around.

As always, I mean no disrespect to the DHX staff responsible for the episodes, or the people who like the episodes listed. But the episodes included are my personal opinion, and I ask that you all respect them.

Twilight Sparkle and Moondancer have never been close friends. Sure, they sit together in almost every class and they talk some, but Twilight has never been over to Moondancer’s house or vice versa. But sometimes, making one choice can lead you down a different path and change the course of your life forever in ways you could never even realize.

Congratulations on choosing this, the first edition of A Brief History of Equestria!

For far to long, the vitally important role of educating our foals of the history of our nation has been delegated to Folk Lore and word of mouth, while the realities of the past have been documented, stored and educated only to the elite. It is therefore the intent of myself, the Royal Historical Society, and the Royal Ministry of Education to provide the common pony with access to a document that offers as full a history of Equestria as can be practically provided, which is the tome you now hold in your hooves.

Keep in mind that no single book cannot replace a properly structured and scheduled classroom on the subject, and while an Encyclopedia format would give a much more comprehensive narrative, the copious amounts of information would render the exercise counter-productive. As such, this book can only give what amounts to a summary of an abridged version at best. It is my hope that everypony who reads this gains an insatiable thirst for more. Hopefully with further editions, more knowledge can be included, along with a collection of tie-in texts that focus more closely on specific areas of interest.

Following the Tirek incident, Equestria is once more at peace and festivities abound by ponies grateful for their freedom. Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends have perhaps the greatest deal to celebrate, especially with the key-bearers who helped them to access Rainbow Power.

So Twilight decides to spend quality time with Discord—lord of chaos and final key-giver—investigating the Tree of Harmony, and the two friends must learn to work together towards a common goal while coming to trust each other. But friendship is not always easy, and when a struggling Discord receives a visit from a shadow that claims to be Tirek and threatens to destroy the mane six out of revenge, it tests their newly forged bonds and reveals many ancient secrets along the way.

*Takes place before Season One*

After a chance encounter with Lyra Heartstrings, Twilight Sparkle finds the lost journal of Starswirl the Bearded. Princess Celestia warns her not to read it, for it was a work that drove him mad. However, it promises to reveal to her a secret that she had obsessed over for years that has powerful magical and philosophical implications, the Meaning of Life.

Even as she starts to learn about friendship, Twilight delves deeper into the secrets of the tome. An ancient being begins showing her visions in her sleep—visions of the secrets of the world.

Can her friendship and her sanity survive discovering the Meaning of Life?

I am Starswirl the Bearded and my story does not start in Equestria. Many have heard the rumor that I am from a foreign land. This is but the smallest part of the truth, for I was not born a pony but on another world, and brought here by Princess Celestia on a mission to save my race. I was born a human, in the year of my people 1452, and my name was Leonardo daVinci.

Before Equestria there was the Empire, ruled by a King and Queen who loved their ponies with all their hearts. The Crystal Heart was the Highest Law in the entire Kingdom, able to denounce any King or Queen and instate a new Prince or Princess who was more worthy of the throne. Very few ponies know the story behind the origins of the heart and, until Prince Sombra stumbles on a old fairytale, no one thinks it is really alive.

Unfortunately She was.

Silken Blade has slept for hundreds of years in her crystal prison, waiting for when somepony would free her and let her fly among the Stars again. Her Curse: She is bound to her Savior til their death.

Sunbeam Sparkle is not a good pony. She might not be pure evil, but she is ruthless, ambitious, and so power-hungry that she would even aspire to usurp Celestia's throne. Worse, she succeeds in manipulating Celestia into not only surrendering rule over Equestria, but her immortality as well.

It is often said that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In most cases that’s true. Many good ponies have begun with good intentions, but slowly lost their way. However, this is not always the case. A rare few virtuous ponies have the character and strength of will to resist temptation, and are never corrupted by their authority.

Even rarer, there comes a time when gaining power makes a pony better than they were before. This is one such story.

This story is a sequel to The Best of All Possible Worlds

In school, everypony learns about the official history of Equestria, the acts of heroes and villains that made the world what it is today. But at home, everypony learns another, secret history, about how their family and theirs alone is at the center of Equestria's history, and how without them, the world will fall apart. This Hearth's Warming Eve, Twilight Sparkle and their friends will share their secret histories, and in this way discover that the bonds between them reach back far earlier than Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom.

This is a follow-up to my earlier story, "The Best of All Possible Worlds". That story was set centuries in the past, while this story is present day. If you're wondering where the humans came from, see another side story that is otherwise unrelated to this, "Parade Coverage". Despite that, I expect that this story stands alone. The story's set in an alternate-universe Season Three that branched off early in Season Two.
