Author's Note: This is a Flash-Fic I wrote during a writing session with the #Equestria IRC channel on caffie.net. The prompt for this fic was "Mystery" and I only had thirty minutes to come up with and write a story based on the prompt. Slightly edited from its original version for grammatical purposes.

My name is The Merry Widow. And tomorrow I will die.

There comes a time in every ship’s life where they have expended their usefulness, and all that awaits them is destruction at the breakers. Beneath Luna’s stars in the long darkness before my death, I am given a gift, and new hope.

The Merry Widow will not die unmourned.

This idea went through my head after watching The Hearth's Warming Club, and I finally decided to sit down and write it so y'all would have something for the Hearth's Warming season, AND because there's not enough of the Young Six, who have become some of my favorite characters in the show.

For a time, these new worlds knew harmony, and learned to prosper in a dance of friendship and magic. But even these worlds would eventually die, and the ones that replaced them.

Finally, the universe itself began to die, as all remaining matter evaporated into radiation or was sucked into infinitely dense singularities.
