Three years ago, Gilda volunteered for a posting in the farthest reaches of griffon territory, a place she knew no pony had ever been and a place she hoped no pony would ever come. And then one morning...

The first chapter was written for the 2014 Summer Equestria Daily Pre-Reader "Secret Santa" Story Exchange--better known, I guess, as the EqD Pre-Reader Battle, but the story just kept on growing. The prompt was the single word "foreigner," and the cover image was commissioned from DarkerSounds.

While lazing around one day Rainbow Dash gets a visit from Gilda who is freaking the hay out! The reason behind this is fairly simple, she is to be crowned queen after accidentally finding the lost Idol of Boreas. She does not want to be queen but the other griffons wont take no for an answer. So she ran away to ask for Rainbow's help on the matter.

Pinkie Pie doesn't exactly have a high opinion of Gilda after what happened last time the griffon visited Ponyville—it was nothing but a trainwreck of bullying, thieving, being insufferably mean, and of course, topping it all off by committing the cardinal sin of ruining a party. The only thing that went right was when Rainbow Dash finally kicked her out. Good riddance.

Ponies (and griffons) don't always stay the same forever, though. Eventually the time comes to set aside past feelings and take a fresh look at things... especially when it would mean so much to another friend. Could it be worth giving her a second shot?

Queen Chrysalis is the ruler of Equestria. She has a lover, Shining Armour. 1,000 years ago princess Cadence ruled along side Chrysalis. But when Shining Armour chose Chrysalis over Cadence she went on a ramp page. Chrysalis was forced to send her to exile Island. Now Chrysalis has a loyal student Gilda the griffon, the element of Honesty. Gilda's friends are Octavia, the element of Generosity. Soarin, the element of Kindness. Vinyl, the element of Laughter. Spitfire the element of Loyalty. Sunset Shimmer the element of Magic. On Changeling Day Cadence some how escaped and is now back to take over Equestria and make Shining love her.

A/N: I might have been the only one thinking this but, if Chrysalis is a Queen shouldn't she rule Equestria? This is a part of the Queen-verse

Saving a friend, and acknowledging her, had led me to right here, right now, Twilight Sparkle’s tourist guidebook under my talons, thinking about this thing ponies called community. Griffons had lost the symbol they agreed brought them together and had allowed themselves to forget their greatness. It was the degradation I’d brought upon myself when I humiliated myself at Pinkie Pie’s party. But then I thought, what if Dashie had foreseen the true second step in saving us? She knew griffons through me. Was she right? Save the idol, save the world?

All the coolest griffon alive wanted was a little peace and quiet and take a nap in her flat back home in the Griffon Empire after a long day. Too bad her phone starts ringing whenever she tries...

Just a random short fic idea I came up with during a long, eventless overnight shift at work. Hope you all enjoy.

I can't believe this! How dare they forget who they're dealing with! I'm the very Element of Generosity! But to ask me to share my suite with the likes of... her? It's inconceivable, preposterous, ludicrous! They seriously think I, Rarity, fashion designer extraordinaire would be willing to share even a suite with such an... uncouth beast! Unfortunately, the Canterlot Ritz—and every other hotel—is booked solid, so it is either this or nothing. I suppose as long as I keep to myself, I will survive the week. Right?

Gilda hates her life.

Gilda needs gloves.

Ponies don't wear gloves.

Looks like somebirdy needs to learn how to knit.

Gilda's on the run! Chased by two grim-looking griffons in business suits, she retreats to the only friend (well, ex-friend) she has left.

However, Rainbow Dash learns there's more to this hunt than Gilda is letting on.
