There once where two rulers of Equestria, Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadence. They both shared equally important roles. Chrysalis was in charge of all night duties and Cadence was in charge of all morning duties. But one day Cadence fell in love with a handsome stallion, Shining Armour. Since he was captain of the royal guards she'd sometimes sneak off to see him. They made small talk and had lunch a few times. Cadence was sure that he liked her, but one night she got up to get a glass if water and saw Chrysalis with him. She convinced her self it was nothing that is until she saw them kiss. This made her very angry and she then devoted her time to him. This made her neglect her royal duties and often made Shining neglect his. When Chrysalis saw that there was disorder in the kingdom she confronted Cadence. Cadence told her what happened and what she saw, Chrysalis was shocked to hear that Cadence was in love with Shining. She simply and bluntly told Cadence that this had to stop and she could never see him again. Cadence was outraged and insisted that she was doing this so Chrysalis could have him for herself. This was true but Chrysalis never admitted it to Cadence, she made up an excuse about how she's dong this for the kingdom and that Cadence should focus on her royal duties. Cadence played along but tomorrow she was fixed on trying to get him back, but before she could even come up with an idea a letter was slipped under the door inviting her to the royal wedding of Queen Chrysalis and Shining Armour. Outraged Cadence took off on a rampage! She reversed her magic of love and caused everypony else to hate each other. Chrysalis knew what she had to do, she took the Elements of Harmony and sent her away to Exile Island for 1,000 years. But it didn't matter how long she sent her away for because everypony who went to Exile Island is never heard from again. Since Cadence was no longer around the Elements of Harmony were no longer useful. Chrysalis locked the Elements in stone and put them in the old Royal Castle in the Everfree Forest.
"It is to believe that Cadence will find away to escape and when her time is up she'll return on Changeling day to take back the Elements and her love, Shining Armour. Gross," said Gilda. "Anyone who goes throw all of that for some guy is messed up in the head."
"Now I know you don't believe that," said Sunset Shimmer. "Remember how coco bananas you went for Rainbow Dash."
"B-but Rainbow Dash isn't some guy, she's a chick."
"Still doesn't this sound a little suspicious? I mean Changeling Day is tonight and you should probably tell the queen."
"You just want to get a free ride to the celebration because your too lazy to fly your self."
"Maybe, but there really could be something that's up. Plus even if you fly you still have to pay the tole out of Clouds Dale."
"Ugh! Fine, but only to prove to you that there's nothing to worry about."
Gilda got up from where she once sat and took out an empty scroll.
Dear Queen Chrysalis,
I've been reading and found some thing totallyridiculousinteresting. Me and Sunset Shimmer believe that Cadence is going to escape Exile Island and come back tomorrow to take over Equestria using the Elements of Harmony.Funny right?Please tell me how we can help.Your student,

She used the fire from her tail to send the letter, moments later the queen replied.
Dear Gilda,
I know you so well and your not into romance stories. My best guess is that Sunset Shimmer has probably put you up to this. Please let her know that I am aware of what happened a thousand years ago and of what the legend says. I really don't like to be reminded of that day. I have everything under control for tonight.
"But since you asked there is something you can help me with. I want you and Sunset Shimmer to go to Ponyville and check up on how the planing is going. See there is something wrong she just won't admit it," said Sunset.
"Whatever man I'm only going because she asked nicely."
"I don't by it for a second."
"Believe what you want."
At that moment they landed in Ponyville. Getting out of the carriage Gilda took the letter from Sunset Shimmer.
"It says that we have to go see somepony named Octavia, she's doing decorations."
They went to the center of town and most of the decorations were up. Green streamers, the Changeling Day banner was up, but there was no sign of Octavia. Just then an electric shock went off behind the stage. Gilda and Sunset went to go see what was going on, Octavia was covered in wires and looked a little burnt.
"Stop your doing that all wrong," said Sunset. "Here let me help." Using her horn she untangled Octavia from the wires and put them where they should go. "You must be more careful around electrical things or you could get seriously hurt."
"Thanks, usually I'm the one helping others. I'm Octavia," she said sticking out her hoof.
Sunset shook it, "we know."
"Um.. what she means is that the queen has sent us to check up on things before tonight."
"Oh well as you can see the decoration are almost done. But I'm not very good at the special affects. What I really wanted to do was plan the music but the queen picked Vinyl."
"Where sorry to hear that. What kind of music do you play?" Shimmer asked taking a seat and forcing Gilda to sit.
"Classical, soft, soothing, relaxing music."
"Boring! No wonder why you weren't chosen you would have put everyone to sleep."
"Wow your um, very blunt miss?"
"Gilda, Gilda the Griffon and like I always say honesty is the best policy."
"Well you honesty hurt Octavia's feelings."
"No it's quite alright. It's best not to sugarcoat it, that way I can learn from my mistakes. Well I best be getting back to work."
"Right, and try to be more careful."
"All right next is Soarin, he's the caterer."
"Is that him," Shimmer asked pointing to the changeling in the sky caring pies. He was fallowed by others carrying other foods. Gilda fly in front of him blocking his path.
"Oh, I thought Derpy sent the letter to everypony. I'm sorry but the flying lanes are reserved for the caterer, we have to get all the food to the center of town before tonight."
"So your Soarin? Great I'm Gilda the queen sent me and my friend Sunset Shimmer down there to check up on things for tonight."
"Oh nice to meet you and I'd love to chat really. It's just that we're on a scheduled and we're already late."
"Sorry," she said while flying back to the ground.
"He seemed nice."
"Yea a little too nice. He didn't even yell at me for being in his way."
"Not everypony is as 'honest' as you. So who's next?"
"Vinyl with music."
"I'm guessing we should go back to the center of town, she should be inside."
"Well then Spitfire better be there to clearing the sky, because I'm tired of going back and forth between there and some place else."
At her luck Vinyl and Spitfire were both there, along with Soarin and Octavia. Vinyl picked out some rocking music and was really good at making them laugh. Spitfire was a super fast flyer cleared the sky in no time. Gilda and Sunset Shimmer helped them finish what needed to be done. Well, Sunset Shimmer helped Gilda just sat there telling them everything they where doing wrong. But finally it was done and there where only 5 hours until the show.
"Hey everypony," Vinyl yelled, "before party at my house."
Everypony rushed over to her house but Gilda stopped Sunset before she could leave.
"I think we've had enough excitement for one day."
"Awe come on the fun just got started, and you have to go."
"Oh yeah, who says I have to?"
"Queen Chrysalis," Shimmer said grabbing the letter from Gilda. "Along the way I would also like you and Sunset to expand your two pony group and make some friends."
"I don't need to make any friends I have you."
"But what about Cadence she's comming remember."
"No on said she was comming."
"Its just one little party, then the main event, then the after party. Then we can go home after that."
"Your killing me Sunset, but...I guess we can go to one party."
"Yay!" Sunset Shimmer gave her a huge hug and fallowed everypony to Vinyl's house. At the event everypony was gathered around the stage.
Octavia went over to the microphone, "welcome fillies and gentle colts. Today is the day we celebrate a time where Queen Chrysalis defeated the awful rulers Celestia and Luna. She gladly took controle and made it possible for all of us to stand her today in harmony. So with out further ado here is your queen, Chrysalis!"
Everypony cheered and clapped but Chrysalis never came out. Shining Armour went behinde the stage to check on her and came back out.
"She's gone!"
At that moment a bolt of green lightining and a puff of smoke appeared on the stage. A chuckle of evil laughter filled everyponies ears and Cadence appeared.
"Hello everypony, do any of you know who I am? Come on any pony at all?"
"We do," said Gilda as she and Sunset Shimmer stepped forward. "Your Princess Cadence and your here to take over Equestria and steal Shinng Armour."
"I AM NOT HERE TO STEAL HIM, HE WAS ALREADY MINE!" She cleared her throught, "Silly ponies it's not like you can stop me, I've already won. I don't see you queen anywhere around here, do you?"
"She doesn't need to be here, well stop you our selves," Sunset Shimmer said.
"Oh and how do you plan on doing that?"
"By obtaining the Elements of Harmony stored in your old castle."
Gilda hit her in the ack of the head, "great work now she knows where the elements are."
Cadence took off in the blink of an eye, Gilda and Sunset Shimmer went off to fallow her but where stopped by Octavia, Soarin, Vinyl, and Spitfire.
"Where do you think your going," said Vinyl.
"To get the Elements or Harmony before she does now get out of our way," Gilda snapped.
"With out back up?"
"Why that might be the stupidest thing ever," said Spitfire.
"We'd like to help, if you don't mind of course," said Soarin.
"Where fine on our own thanks," said Sunset.
Gilda and Sunset Shimmer ran off into the Everfree Forest, but little did they know was that the others where fallowing closely behind. Right when they thought they where ahead Cadence cast a spell on Sunset causing her to hate Gilda.
"Hey I have an idea," Sunset started, "why don't you wait here and Ingo ahead to make sure it's safe."
"Uh no way I'm not letting you go by your self."
"Ok or you could go back and I'll just do this on my own."
"Why on earth would you wanna do that."
"Because I don't wanna be hanging out with scum like you."
"Gilda don't listen to her," shouted Vinyl. "She's been cursed by the evil Cadence to hate you. But it's nothing that the power of subs can't fix. Sunset Shimmer say hello to my base can-"
"Ha ha ha ha ha," sunset laughed. "What on earth is a base cannon? The name of it just makes me want to laugh, Gilda is she seriouse?"
"Hey Vinyl it worked she's not mad at me anymore, great plan."
"Uh...um...right! My plan worked, that's what I meant to do. It's not like I actually have a base cannon or anything."
The three of them went ahead on there journey to the castle when suddenly the land between Gilda and Vinyl split causing Sunset Shimmer caught in between holding on to nothing but GIlda's hoof.
"Let go!"
"Are you crazy I'll die."
"Uh no you won't, have I ever lied to you?"
Knowing the answer Sunset Shimmer let go and fell to her death flapped her wings so she wouldn't fall.
"Oh right wings, I forgot about thoses, I'm more of a magic pony."
"You ponies ok we felt the ground shake," said Spitfire comming from the bushes along with everypony else.
Gilda didn't even try to shoo them away this time, she kinda liked knowing that everypony had her back. Now would be a good time to know if they really did because a giant Yoguio jumped out in front of them and snatched Sunset Shimmer. Gilda tried to attack it but it's firery mane got in the way and almost burned her.
"Wait a seconde," said Soarin but no pony heard him.
Then Spitfire went head in only to get tossed into a tree.
"Hold on," Soarin said again but no pony listened.
Then they all charged at it but Soarin stood in there way.
"I said Stop!" Soarin screamed and went up to the Yoguio as he wrote in the sand. Please don't hurt me, I'm not as I appear. "You need help." Soarin went over to Sunset Shimmer, "please help him. Can you reverse his curse?"
"I'll try."
Sunset Shimmer closed her eyes and did what she could. To everyponies surprise the Yoguio turned into a pony.
"Thank you so much for your help, I was rushed by the evil Cadence, but now I am free," he said as he left.
"How did you know it was a dude," Gilda asked.
"I didn't but you never know what may happen with a little kindness."
They continued on there way and came up to a river but the water was to rapid to cross, well they could all fly over it but Sunset Shimmer dosen't like to use her wings much. Further along They saw a sea monster splashing around causing the waves.
Octavia went up to him, "what's wrong there big guy?"
"Oh I hate it here it's dark and scary, I would leave but I'm to afriad to go any where from here."
"I think I have something for you," she said while taking off her bow tie. "This is my most special bow tie and it is very lucky. With it on I can do anything."
She gave him the tie and he put it on, "wow thanks. I feel safe already."
"But I never see you with out that," said Vinyl.
"It's ok I have others at home."
Now that the monster had calmed down it was safe to cross. Next they came up to a bridge but the other side wasn't tied so Spitfire offered to get it. They could all fly but Sunset Shimmer was o ce again to lazy to. While on the other side a group of changelings came up to Spitfire and asked her to join there group.
"No thanks but if you hadn't noticed I'm the best flyer in Equestria and the captin of the Wonderblots so I don't need your little group."
She tied the rope on a rock and everypony crossed the bridge. They finally made it to the castle and they fund the Elements of Harmony.
"Honesty, Genorosity, Kindness, Laughter, Loyalty. Um....where's the sixth element," asked Sunset.
"Did I forget the book mentioned that the sixth element would reveal through a spark," said Gilda.
Just then Cadence appeared and took the elements, but before she could go Gilda jumped in after her causing them both to disappear to the other side of the castle.
"You fool no one can stop me and Shining Armour will be mine. Don't you see I've already won."
"Where coming Gilda! Don't worry we got your back."
At that moment Gilda felt a spark inside her, knowing that everypony was there for her made her feel like she was wanted for the very first time.
Her horn glowed and so did the elements, "no you haven't won a thing. When You made Sunset Shimmer hate me it was Vinyl that made her laugh causing her to forget she ever hated me, even if it wasn't intended." One of the elements circled around Vinyl, "when you made the gound between us break causing Sunset Shimmer to fall it was me who was honest with her and told her to let go, even though she should have remembered she had wings in the first place." An element circled around Gilda, "when you turned that pony into a Yoguio who attacked Sunset Shimmer it was Soarin who was kind enough to let him tell his side of the story." Another element flew around Soarin, "when you made everything seem scary so that the sea monster made it impossible for Sunset Shimmer to cross when she didn't want to use her wings, it was Octavia who was generouse enough to give him a gift of luck." An element circled around Octavia, "and when you tried to get Spitfire to abandon Sunset Shimmer so she would cross the bridge it was her loyalty to us that made her stay." The last element circled around Spitfire, "when these elements combin it creates the sixth element. The glue that holder us together an made us stay with each other, the magic if friendship." The sixth and final element hovered over Sunset Shimmer, who was happy that everything centered around her. The Elements o Harmony flew and nothing happened and Cadence kills them and rules Equestria created a rainbow of friendship that circled around Cadence, causing her to turn back to normal. That's when Chrysalis appeared and willingly made peace with Cadence. The next morning there was a celebration of the comming back of Princess Cadence.
Everypony was happy except for Gilda, "what is wrong my student? Are you not happy that you can go back to your simple life in Clouds Dale?"
"That's the thing, I should be happy but I'm not. I thought that we would do this and go home and everything would be back to the way it was. But after knowing what it feels like to have more than Sunset Shimmer by my side I never wanted that feeling to go away."
"I think I know how to help. Everypony I hear by decread that my student Gilda and her friend Sunset Shimmer will stay here in Ponyville and learn more about the magic of friendship, at the end of each week they will report to me there findings."
Everypony cheered and claped Gilda was so happy that she could be with all of her friends.
After hours
Cadence intered Shining Armours chambers, Chrysalis was out looking over the town so she wasn't going to interrupt her this time. Her horn glowed and she cast a spell on Shinging Armour. "You will be forever bound to me, forget about Chrysalis I am the only one you love." She smiled kneeled down and whispered in his ear, "p.s. I'm still not over you. Ha ha ha ha ha aha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
