After winning the annual Canterlot Amateur Music Festival, Lyra is approached by a record producer to work for him. At first, Lyra thinks of it as a dream come true. However, the world of music is not a perfect one in any sense of the word. Now, Lyra must learn to work with her new found friends to reach stardom, even if it means giving up her own dreams.

Scootaloo has been living with Rainbow dash for a year now. Her best friend has just gotten her cutie mark and she is getting better at flying. But why does Dashie seem so lonely lately and why does she still think of her mother. Maybe its time that she gets someone for her big sister to be there for her. Maybe its time to get Rainbow a special somepony.

After long years of playing for royal festivities in Canterlot, Octavia's musical skills start to plummet. She still has the talent, but she has no motivation, or inspiration to move on any further with her career. After meeting another musically inclined pony, Octavia start's to feel her inspiration kicking in, and she starts to fully understand why it has.

On the other hoof, Vinyl Scratch discovers what the power of music can truly do, and how friendship can only go but so far before it turns into something much more.

Octavia's performance at the wedding of Princess Cadence was cancelled, and her ensemble was replaced by a mysterious DJ! When she goes to investigate, she discovers a world of music she never imagined from the turntables of Vinyl Scratch. She takes a chance and follows the DJ back to her home in Ponyville, and begins a journey full of music, love, laughs, some tears (maybe?), and... an evil plot!? What?

Ever wondered how Octavia met Luna, what prompted Lyra's fascination with humans, or just what Vinyl was up to before she met Octavia? Then this anthology is for you. All stories here are meant to flesh out and enhance the characters of the Royal Ponyville Orchestra, so while I would highly recommend reading that story before reading these it is not absolutely necessary as each story is designed to stand on its own.

Vinyl hears about Octavia's disaster of a performance at the Gala. Having broke up with her over a year ago, can things really be okay between them again, especially when Octavia is at the lowest point in her life?
