An old story of mine written, wow, May 2011. Not in anyway associated with My Little Assistant - which is kinda a bit better anyway, more developed - just inspired by the same picture.

Twilight has always had Spike to rely on, even to her own detriment sometimes. When Twilight's desires interfere with Spike's growing urges for independence and he storms out after some harsh words, can they ever be a family again?

All Pinkie Pie wanted to do was tell Twilight she loved her. Things might have gone differently if Twilight listened...

It's been a long day, everyone sees me smiling and running home not a care in the world....but between us, I'm sad. I...have lost everything except my music, my emotions have been poured into every song and no one seems to hear it, no one feels it. I cry at home some nights, sometimes during the day when no one is looking, but it's all good...she'll come back........I'm sorry Octavia, so so sorry.

While escaping a night of partying, Vinyl Scratch quietly lets loose in Ponyville. Privately relaxing behind Sugar Cube Corner, Vinyl notices a cross-eyed mare.
Vinyl steals the pony away to discover her name, and to find a way to gain her complete trust.
Learning the past of the pegasus just might hit the heart of the laid-back DJ.

After long years of playing for royal festivities in Canterlot, Octavia's musical skills start to plummet. She still has the talent, but she has no motivation, or inspiration to move on any further with her career. After meeting another musically inclined pony, Octavia start's to feel her inspiration kicking in, and she starts to fully understand why it has.

On the other hoof, Vinyl Scratch discovers what the power of music can truly do, and how friendship can only go but so far before it turns into something much more.

Nightmare Night has crept up upon the ponies of Ponyville, and they are ready for a night of fun, and terror. But when Princess Luna unexpectedly arrives it leaves the citizens of Ponyville in a horrific shock. The princess of the night is determined to show that she is no longer somepony to be afraid of, but odd events occur that make her seem to be more frightening. Angered, and saddened by her failed attempts to be loved, Princess Luna casts herself away into the Everfree Forest.
When the time strikes twelve o'clock Luna notices something peculiar about the statue of Nightmare Moon in the forest. It's missing! But it's soul hasn't gone too far.
One certain pony will have to learn a valuable lesson as the discover what's right, and what's wrong. What will everypony discover when Princess Luna returns to them once again? She is no longer the princess that had visited them on that one particular Nightmare Night.

A story written in a day (next to everything else) for one of my, friend Twilight Sparkle. This story was just because I wanted to do something for her, given how she has done so much for me, I thought of returning the favor. Again, not a major story, but more a gift for a wonderful friend.

The incident described here is unique among the others like it in that the consequences were long reaching.
I guess that's what happens when you fall into another universe and one thing leads to another. The best you can do is carry on.
