Today is Hearts and Hooves Day, a day where every pony in Equestria gives their special someponies their love and care. Usually everyone enjoys this day expecially Sweetie Belle, but for Spike, love is just a game for him since he knows that Rarity will never want a guy like him, however, that will soon change. When he receives a love letter from Sweetie Belle, Spike begins to reconsider his feelings for her older sister and asks Twilight for help while Sweetie Belle asks for Rarity's advice on what to do when Spike tells Sweetie if he has feelings for her or not.

The stress of consecutive days of constant working has tired the usually flamboyant mare. Luckily, Twilight is more than willing to comfort her marefriend, and she asks if there is anything she can do to steady Pinkie's pain. In response, Pinkie gives the alicorn an unusual request that Twilight is unsure she has the skills to complete this wish.

And most of all Rarity, the Nightmare's main victim. But Spike faced his own ordeal, so after a few days rest he goes to visit Rarity where the two proceed to have a private chat. Rarity expresses her gratitude and apologizes for the vulnerabilities that allowed the Nightmare to use her. And then...the two discuss their own future. Rarity has made a decision. And as terrified as he is of rejection, Spike's long unspoken question is about to be answered.
