He could have said no. He should have said no. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to stop her right there and then. She would have understood. She would have forgiven him. The spell would have been gone forever, and everything would have gone back to normal.

Starlight Glimmer has finally done it. She has stolen the cutie mark of everypony in Equestria and shown them the path to equality. From her new home in Princess Twilight's castle, Starlight rules Equestria, pushing everypony towards happiness and equality.

But one day Starlight Glimmer encounters a mysterious filly. A filly who is immune to Starlight's cutie mark-stealing magic. A filly with no name, no family, and no past. A filly who refuses to wipe that creepy smile off her face. As the filly begins to make friends with everyone in Ponyville, Starlight searches for a way to beat her. And what does the filly want from Starlight?

She just wants to break her.

Time travel is complicated, requires a lot of power, and has horrible, horrible side effects.

Unfortunately for Starlight, researching said problems beforehoof is next to impossible.

It really is too bad that she's destroyed the world.

A series of unconnected one-shots that diverge during the Season 5 finale. Since time travel is so arbitrary in canon, I'm coming up with the rules myself and offering what would have happened if it worked that way.

Princess Luna has begun searching for her own personal student, and her test has hit a small snag: Not a single unicorn, out of the dozens of applicants, has passed. In fact, every last candidate has failed the test in seconds.

But just what is the purpose of this test? And how can somepony pass it?

A young earth pony named Morning Glory is going to find out.
