Vinyl Scratch liked to party. Octavia liked to enjoy life a bit more quietly. That was until Vinyl took out a loan she couldn't repay. Now she’s on the run from an insane loan shark that has too many spare thugs and a lot of cash to throw away. To put the icing on top, the unicorn has dragged her new, once sheltered friend into the mess with her. Now the DJ and the cellist must try to escape with their lives. Along the way, will they find that they can't stand each other, or will they discover something else about themselves together?

This is a sequel to my other story, A Tale of Two Mares. Read that one first.
Anyhow, Vinyl Scratch and her trusty new wife Octavia are living in San Franciscolt, trying to make a decent living, raise a foal (or two), and not drive each other the neighbors crazy.
Some old favourites, and some ponies that are notorious for being awful, will come to make their lives a little easier(?) and some new ponies as well, for better or for worse.

Oh my Celestia, I just made that sound like the most boring story ever. You'll just have to read the first one.

Octavia isn't the type of mare to mix up with suspicious crowds. She stays away from ponies who are different from herself, never giving them second thought, never considering the fact that they might be friendly.
But what happens if Octavia doesn't have a choice? What if she needs one of these uncouth ponies she so despises, and avoids at all costs? And mostly, what will her family say if she goes as far as to fall in love with one?

A series starring everyone's favorite music duo, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Philharmonica. There are no alien invasions, no epic battles, no larger than life heroes or villains. Just a few stories of love and d'awws.

A patchwork story about a somewhat different Vinyl Scratch and Octavia, who learn what it means to be in a relationship, to work, and to live together. Finally complete.

There's something that all artists of music fear the most, the new generation. Some can't keep up with it, others just adjust to it and live on. One mare in particular couldn't keep up, she didn't want to. She loved the music she played, and she didn't want to change it. But as time went on, her time in the spotlight slowly ticked away. Her friends always loved her music, ever since they met. But time goes by, time brings changes, and they changed too. They were the only ones left who believed in her, but just like the old genres and generations of yesteryear, those thoughts and beliefs faded away. With no job, in Octavia's mind, she's got nothing to live for. What's the point in making music if no pony's going to listen to it? However, Octavia decides she wants to join Vinyl in performing the kind of music she makes that helps her stay on top.

Vinyl Wakes up on the last day of her stay in Manehatten, soon to leave for Ponyville. She bumps into Octavia on the way and they soon realize they are roommates. The story revolves around the two ponies and how they eventually become best friends, or maybe even more than that.

Vinyl Scratch walks into a bar. There is no punchline.

Hey, everyone. OtterMatt here. Just for the record, I’m not coming back to FimFic. Not ever. I’m sorry to say it, but my life has moved on, as it were, and writing just isn’t a part of it anymore. That being said, I love these stories of mine very much. There’s a lot of myself that I put into them, and at least a couple people have told me that these stories meant a lot to them as well. Living as an independent DJ has given Vinyl Scratch a rough life. Things are not easy, and they're getting tougher. When she meets Octavia Philharmonica, she finds herself entranced as well as filled with resentment. Only time will tell if their connection through music will spawn a beautiful relationship or a formidable rivalry.
