Vinyl Scratch is a mare with pride in herself. She has her own business, knows what she likes, and keeps everything under control. Octavia is a mare with a cello case full of secrets and trust issues. The two meet one night at a double-booked concert and sparks start to fly.

This is in a more canon verse than the one in Night of Change, Midwife Crisis and anything else designated specifically "AU"

My first fan fiction, this story is a fresh take on the fairly common Vinyl x Octavia story. It starts out narrating their lives as fillies, having met in grade school, and follows them up to adulthood showing their love of music and each other blossom as time goes on.

Twilight Sparkle may be the smartest pony in all of Ponyville. She may be able to understand non-linear magical field gains but love eludes her. Can reason and the scientific method shed some light on this mysterious magic? Twilight is determined to try. But when Applejack finds out that Rainbow Dash is on the cover of Flyers Illustrated: Wet Feathers Edition, it plays on a fear she never mentioned to Dash: Everypony knows that famous ponies are different from normal folks. . .
