A/N: Just a simple one-shot with Vinyl Scratch. Yes, another story inspired by music. Seems to be my best inspiration, music does.

As an ex-member of the Royal Guard, I never thought I would have moved back to the quaint, little town of Ponyville. With my sudden increase in finances, I am able to buy a new house and live a simple life, away from all the violence of being in the Royal Guard and the bad memories that surrounded Canterlot. I expected the rest of my days of early retirement to be calm and peaceful, but then I met her. Hi, I'm Golden Scale and this is how I fell in love with the mailwoman.

This is my first fiction ever. In fact, it's the first time I ever decided to write a story. I don't think I'm very good at it but that's for all of you to decide. Please inform me of any errors you come across while reading. Also, critique the hell out of it. The story takes some time to get to the actual romance, so please be patient.

Apparently, I can't tag this as both "Sad" and "Comedy" because they're conflicting categories. But yeah, there is some sad.

[2nd Person Perspective]

Working as a waiter at Canterlot's various social gatherings is a nice job. Especially since you began chatting with the cello player of the usual quartet, Octavia. You've gotten to know a lot about her, but one night there seems to be something on her mind. You offer her a drink to ease her nerves and you bring your glasses together in cheers.

Next thing you know, you wake up in a strange hotel room in a town you've never been to next to a certain gray mare.

Tristan had always loved running and sports. When cancer had threatened his life, he had to give up his dream of being an Olympic runner. Tristan got hit by a car while saving a boy who fell in the street. Tristan was hospitalized and had two days to live. His last wish was to watch his favorite episode of MLP:FIM. He fell asleep and awoke in a colorful land full of ponies.

But this story isn't about how Dash becomes a Wonderbolt, how Lightning Dust was kicked out for incompetence, or why Soarin wasn't around. This is how someone's accident lead their greatest mistakes. This is how someone's decision lead to their demise. This is how Light Crash dies.

This is an anthro story. Also the first non-adventurous story I've written. Currently looking for artist.
