There are many stories where Twilight tells off her friends after the Wedding. But that's not really Twilight's bag, she gets worried she's failed, or depressed, not angry. So here is a different bridal path, one where Twilight acts decisively to try and redeem herself in the eyes of her friends and sovereign, and ends up travelling to places she never imagined, facing dangers and foes she never dreamed of and making even stranger friends. Of course, there is still a 'reason you suck' speech delivered, but delivered by the last person anyone would expect...

What if Applebloom hadn't admitted to being Anon-a-Miss when she did? What if Sunset took the situation to extreme measures? And what if the Crusaders never stopped posting…?

This is the story of the aftermath of what might have happened, Sunset's recovery from the trauma of abandonment and resulting depression, and the road towards healing and forgiveness. This is also the story of why Anon-a-Miss continued to function long after the intended purpose was completed. There will be roadblocks, detours, and maybe even engine troubles, but through friendship, Sunset's wounds may yet be mended. However… as the one behind the wicked veil of anonymity continues to wreak havoc, who else will be hurt due to her desire for vengeance? Why does she seek it, and for what is it sought for? When the collateral damage inevitably collapses under its own weight, Sunset will not be the only one bearing scars.

Third person. Present tense (flashbacks are in Past tense). Rated T rather than M as there is no explicit sex or graphic violence. Profanity tag may be pushing the rating a bit (frequency of F bombs was reduced in editing). Sex tag for discussion of sexual activity (both heterosexual and homosexual) and implied nudity. Suicide / Self Harm tag for failed suicide attempts, mentions of past attempts, discussion of cutting, and for descriptions of scars. Contains cannabis mention and implied use (not enough to justify tagging Narcotics but enough to mention). Also contains minor character death (of an OC, in a flashback, off-screen), medical trauma, mental illness, and some depictions of homophobia and the usage of slurs.

It has been pointed out to me that there are some inconsistencies concerning the timeline and canon. I will mention that here to spare you further confusion. This takes place in a light AU I call my EEGC (Extended Equestria Girls Chronology) which consists of multiple fics set in the same universe and timeline. In it I have changed, among other things: Twilight gave Sunset the journal in the events of the first film, the Anon-a-Miss incident occurs within weeks of the first film and long before the second, the OTHER Twilight & Sunset are ‘altered’ and ‘taken care of’ respectively, and the Human World and Limbo are now the same location. These changes were made because the EqG canon is literally impossible otherwise, given the events of the show (and has only grown MORE impossible in time).

In this universe, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle were best buddies since they were fillies (though Sunset was older than Twilight), bonding over their shared obsession with studying. But all that changed when Twilight had to do the entrance exam, which ended as well as one expected it to. But rather than be accepted this time, she was rejected...but not for long. Meanwhile, Sunset has the unenviable task of looking over the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration and "make some friends".

NOTE: While this story has the comedy tag, that's more to do with some early life shenanigans as well as Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie. I can assure you that it will get darker as it goes on.

In an alternate universe where Sunset Shimmer has made the difficult decision to return to her home world, the young unicorn must face a past she has been avoiding and learn a lesson in friendship that she won't soon forget. It hasn't been easy, but her time in Equestria has produce a positive rate of progress towards an eventual goal of self integration back into Pony Society. And although others might have forgiven her for what she has done- has she the strength to forgive herself and move on?

On the one hoof, she has Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and her most current confidant. On the other, her old mentor, Princess Celestia and ruler of all Equestria. Although she cares for both, she finds herself conflicted by her past actions and unable to chose whom she should resume her lessons with...and whether or not she deserves a second chance at a brighter tomorrow.

Disclaimer: This story is set to take place two years after the events of EQG - Friendship Games and the end of MLP:FiM Season 5. Please note that any characters or plots from EQG - Legend of Everfree or from MLP: FiM (season 6 and on) are not considered as part of this universe and will not be fully referenced.

We could tell that the Rainbow Laser emitted by the Rainbooms at the end of the Fall Formal was powerful, just look at the crater it left. But what else could that do to Sunset Shimmer?

30 moons have passed, and Sunset Shimmer sets on her way home. She's confused and upset, and she can only pray for a chance to prove her worth in Equestrian society once more. She receives so much more than that.

Season 5 and all but the first of the Equestria Girls movies are not canon to this story.

Twilight Sparkle has always respected the laws of science and magic. It's a respect that got her a scholarship to SGU, where she formed a small but comfortable group of friends and has received top grades in her two years there. It's a life that makes sense.

With her final year beginning and a special instruction from the Princess to bond with a fellow pupil, Twilight has enough to fill her life and her mind. It doesn't make sense that she should have recurring dreams about a mysterious mare, that this mare seems eerily familiar despite being a total stranger, or that she can recall the dreams with unusual clarity.

Twilight has questions about Equestria and about herself, and the answers could reshape her perception of both. She begins her research with a central question:

What lies beyond the edge of a dream?

Twilight Sparkle is not in a good place. Shunned and abandoned by her friends, her mentor and even her family for a thoughtless outburst at the wedding rehearsal. But she still has friends in Canterlot, even if she forgot about them.

Sunset is accused of spreading everyone’s secrets on a Mystable page calling itself Anon-a-Miss, losing all of her friends and reputation in the process.

But it seems the school forgot one thing.

Sunset Shimmer isn't one to be easily broken.

A story dearly inspired by wanting something different out of the Anon-a-Miss 'Genre' of fics. Many are wonderful stories, but at the end of the day, most tend to fall into the same couple of tropes with slight alterations, and many of those tropes are ones I'm not terribly fond of.

So with my ever present desire to take a well trod genre and flip it on its head, I present my own take on this story, and one I have not personally seen. So I hope I deliver on giving you something different from the others!

AU to a Canterlot Wedding with a twist. Shades of the movie.

Twilight left Equestria ashamed of calling Cadence evil without knowing she was replaced by Queen Chrysalis. The real Cadence was accidentally found and the Changeling invasion was foiled.

Since then Princess Celestia and her friends have been searching for Twilight.

2 years later the Crystal Empire returns and Twilight's friends are sent but it seemed that an armada led by the stern faced Tempest got there first. She is there on behalf of a new empire ruled by Queen Twilight.
