After running into a strange brown stallion, known only as 'the Doctor', Applejack purses the pony to his weird blue box. She quickly gets wrapped up in an adventure with the Doctor, a intergalactic police force, and an alien changeling.

Our reputations ruined, we were just as well off here in this festering hell-hole as we would have been out there in a country that now despised us. All hope seemed lost until one day, an emissary from a foreign land gave us a chance to exact our revenge on those who had put us here. Tak disagreed with how his race acted and yearned for something more out of life. After finding a book about a certain daring pegasus who had a thirst for adventure, Tak dreams of having his own adventures. Armed with his favorite spear, a makeshift bag and a determined soul, he abandons his clan and ventures forth into the unknown.

However, when he runs into a mischievous orange filly, a motherly pegasus and their friends, he soon finds himself caught up in something far bigger than he could ever imagine.

Twilight had always known her kind to be a race of peace and kindness. However, when faced with something they don't quite understand, those bounds are tested. After a two legged creature arrives in Ponyville with a spear in hand and an injured Scootaloo, the citizens act in a manner which Twilight hadn't foreseen.

Perhaps the world around them isn't as black and white as she had once thought, but filled with shades of gray. Journey with Twilight and company, as they discover this for themselves as they venture beyond the borders of Equestria.
