A thousand years ago in Equestria, Luna's frustration and desperation has been building for years and years as her social and political isolation grows, but just before Luna's jealousy and resentment can turn into murderous hatred against her sister, a new event triggars Luna's mental collapse and pushes her over the edge. When Luna by circumstance finds herself alone in Celestia's room she reads her sister's diary out of curiosity and discovers all of the disparaging criticism that Celestia has leveled at her over the years about how much of a nuisance Luna has been to her, but has been too polite to say directly to Luna's face.

Luna and Celestia had always supported and stuck with each other all their lives. Even when the common-ponies critisism and shunning of her was at its worst, the knowledge that her sister loved her kept Luna going. The realization that nopony, not even her own sister valued her or thought she was fit for the throne completely shattered whatever remained of her fragile psyche.

And so Luna just gave up...

She gave in...

If no one wanted her there...

Then she wouldn't stay there...

She would leave.

Sunny fails to prevent the crystals from consuming the land in void, and she learns a horrible truth about her world.

Flurry Heart has turned her back on her family, friends and society, but when a desperate call for help arrives, she is reminded that some things still matter. Now, she must battle her demons from the past to save those she loves - but they have demons of their own they must deal with as well.

Starry Night is a newly minted astronaut of Equestria's century-old space program. Assigned to a routine refueling run as her first mission, she isn't expecting much in the way of excitement. But decades of spaceflight haven't made space itself any less dangerous, and she'll soon find her skills put to the test millions of miles out from Equestria's safe shores.

No pony knows how, but one day, the world froze... Petrochemical is the only unicorn born to a village of earth-ponies, living out in the frozen wasteland, and one day, Petrochemical goes out into the snowy wasteland to find something to save her tribe from the bitter cold and toxic snow.

(I wrote this story as a way to recycle old OCs, featuring characters I originally made for cancelled or unposted fics. Inspired by a mixture of Fallout Equestria, Half-Life, Stalker, and Frostpunk. PS. I have new Cover Art yey!)

And when the past rears its ugly head and a decision made years ago turns out as a fatal mistake, Flurry Heart has to learn that life can turn on you whenever it wants.....
