Discord tries to prove to everyone that he has reformed by doing good deeds all throughout Ponyville. Some are grateful for what he has done, but others still think he's evil. But when Sweetie Belle runs into trouble, Discord goes off to help her.

Discord is reformed and now on the path towards becoming a productive member of society. To help him stay on the straight and narrow, Fluttershy begins to write letters to him, with the two quickly becoming pen pals. With their sharing of letters, Fluttershy begins to learn more about the conundrum known as Discord, while Discord learns what it truly means to be a friend.

The Firework Lotus Celebration, a grand festival which celebrates the dawn of a new year, is a tradition held near and dear to Spike's heart. But when the winds of change threaten to take this special time away from him, Spike is forced to make a difficult decision. Which is more important: what he knows to be right, or what he feels to be right?

And as Spike soon discovers, it's a choice best made with the help of some friends.

Losing your home isn't something that you get over in a day—Spike doesn't think so, at least. But Twilight insists that she's not overly distraught by the destruction of the Golden Oak Library, and she says that she's simply ready to move on. Spike, on the other hand, can't let go of his old home quite so easily. Is Spike just blowing this whole thing out of proportion, or is there something Twilight isn't telling him?

Mothball searches for the perfect gift for his marefriend, Screwball; Prism fears her parents Rainbow Dash and Soarin won't make it home for the holidays, while Discord has to make amends to a filly whom he accidentally told there was no such thing as Santa Hooves.

After contracting whatever disgusting virus the Tatzlwurm was carrying, Discord discovers that a runny nose and hacking cough are the least of his worries. In his weakened state, his powers have stopped working! Thankfully, he's in good hooves with Fluttershy there to help put things in perspective.

When Fluttershy finds out that Discord never had a birthday party, she convinces the others to help her prepare a party that would be perfect for the spirit of chaos himself.
