Except for the occasional adventure, the ponies' lead pretty dull lives. Luckily, a certain God of Chaos wants to change that. He's got a story planned out for each of them and knows exactly what he wants them to do, say, and feel. But ponies aren't always the most cooperative of creatures, are they? Sometimes they just insist on writing their own stories! How can Discord deal with a group of equines who, despite the author's plans, just won't stick to the script?

Note: Based on "The Stanley Parable", an ingenious adventure game. If you haven't at least seen a little footage of the game, you might not entirely understand this story. I suggest looking up the game (you don't have to buy it, just learn a little about it) before reading this. It isn't 100% necessary, but if you're confused about any parts of the story, I highly suggest finding out more about "The Stanley Parable".

It's Starlight Glimmer's first Nightmare Night in Ponyville, and she invites Trixie to go to a Haunted House attraction with her. As it turns out, Trixie is very very easily frightened. Almost too easily. Certainly it's not some silly excuse for the sideshow magician to cling to her very best friend... right?

Having qualified for the Aerial Relay event, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Bulk Biceps and their friends travel to the Crystal Empire to participate in the Equestria Games alongside four other teams. Honour, glory and gold are at stake as the ponies prepare to take up their positions. But after Rainbow Dash accidentally bumps into an old acquaintance before the performance, strange things begin to happen.

What unseen trials will the trio of teammates face on the event grounds and skies? Which threatening series of events will occur involving the audience and Rainbow's friends? And what was that barely-discernible streak of brown high up in the clouds? Most importantly, what is the ultimate motive behind these seemingly unrelated incidents?

The Day of the “Best Young Fliers” competition was very special to Rainbow Dash. But she was not the only pony to discover something about herself that day. This is the tale of 3 other ponies and their own self discovery.

(This is a collection of short stories used to try out new styles and formats. As such, I am sure there will be some who only like one or two the stories and not all three.)
(They do all take place in the same continuity and most of the events will be taking place around Cloudsdale and during the Episode “Sonic Rainboom”)

Author's Note: This was the very first MLP fan fiction I wrote, just after the conclusion of Season 1. As such, it's not up to the current quality standard that I've risen to in the past couple years.

Discovering she's missed the cut for the Wonderbolts, Twilight and friends track down Rainbow Dash to help her see that not all dreams can be realized.

It's that time of year again. The leaves are turning, the air is cooling, and the chimneys are smoking.

But to a young Shining Armor, this can only mean one thing: pony flu season has arrived. And, thanks to his mother, this inevitably means a date with the dreaded needle.

Only this time, Shining isn't the only one who has to be worried. His filly sister is coming along for the ride for the first time... albeit, against her will.

And despite having fears of his own, Shining Armor knows that, for Twilight's sake... somepony has to be brave.

Its New Years Eve and Twilight is throwing a party for all her friends. However Trixie Lulamoon is not having a lot of fun so she starts looking around for Starlight. When she finds her alone however, it quickly becomes something, more.

If this feels rushed, it's because I wrote it in the hour and a half after the episode ended, hoping to be the first one to address the topic with a story. Then the finicky approval pipeline happened. But rather than complain about that, I'd like to take a moment to thank the story-approvers for the vital but inglorious work they do. They've had to trudge through 55 of my abominations, and anypony (or 'ling) who can survive that has my immense respect.
