Fluttershy's friends might call the gentle pegasus sensitive. But they don't know the half of it.

What is she always so afraid of, anyway?

And why is SHE the one pony who can go toe-to-toe with the Avatar of Chaos himself?

(Is this an AU? If it is, it's one that resembles canon a lot.)

Twilight, as an alicorn, now has both pegasus and earth pony magic in addition to her well-practiced unicorn abilities. However, she has little idea how to use these abilities, and thus seeks tutors.

Applejack and Big Mac are busy with the zapapple harvest. Granny Smith tends to nap in the afternoons. And Pinkie Pie is... well, Pinkie Pie.

Fortunately, there's an Earth Pony with a free afternoon who's willing to give teaching a try... especially if it might lead to a cutie mark...

The windigos have been defeated, and their winter dispelled as a new age of unification dawns upon Ponykind. And Discord the Draconequus endlessly spins his schemes on to keep these mortals from committing their own undoing. In the process, he comes to meet with someone who, one day, will be of great aid to him. If he permits her to exist, after all.

Twilight is on the cusp of leading Equestria for a year. It's been an easy year with no major difficulties. No wars. No natural disasters. No villains.

At least until a villain from the far, far future appears in Twilight's throne room. She's escaping defeat at Twilight's hooves, with one thought in mind: she won't be stopped if Twilight doesn't exist in the future. And here's Twilight's past self, right in front of her. Easy.

Unfortunately, she's not the only villain with this idea.

"How do I know you're real Fluttershy?"

Discord struggles with accepting reality when four of his senses have been stunted for so long.

This is gonna be a miserable existence.

While strolling the boundaries of the Crystal Empire on a snowy Hearth's Warming, young Princess Flurry Heart comes across a relic long thought lost. Touching it brings an encounter with a dark spirit from the past.

Now, here they are, face to face; two rulers of the Crystal Empire, one of the past, the other of the future.

Will the cold dead heart of the King of Shadows corrupt the Princess of Peace?

Or will a miracle come to pass on this most blessed of holidays?
