What if King Sombra put the mane 5, CMC, and the Wonderbolts under his control, and rules all of Equestria? What will happen when Celestia and Luna are defeated? Will anypony stop Sombra? Or will he rule Equestria forever? And what will happen once he gets a queen as evil as him?

In the wake of Princesses Celestia and Luna’s announcement for their planned retirement, Twilight and her friends were thrown in a tailspin! If that wasn’t bad enough, Grogar had united Cozy Glow, Sombra, Tirek, & Chrysalis together for his master plan!

However, Sombra had plans of his own as he broke off from the legion, and invaded the Crystal Empire! Upon hearing this, Twilight and her friends raced to action! Sombra put them under their worst fears, but they broke through his spell with the Elements of Harmony! He destroyed the Tree of Harmony, but they still prevailed! They beat him...twice, vanquishing him for good, as their most strongest weapon of all was their friendship!

But, what if something else happened?

What if Sombra’s spell was too strong for the even Mane Six to overcome? What if they failed? What if they joined his side, for him to reclaim all of Equestria? How different would it turn out? How would the royal sisters react? How would Discord react? Would it be up to someone else to save the day?

It probably would. The Mane Six would be doomed, but not if two certain planet-raising princesses and the lord of chaos have anything to say about it!

An alternate ending to the season 9 opener, The Beginning Of The End, and the ninth in my alternate ending series.

Given the successful befriending of Discord, Princess Celestia deems that no longer will villains be defeated but instead reformed. While most have the chance to submit willingly or continue to fight, King Sombra is given little option. Brought back from the dead and stripped of all his powers and strength, it's all become a game of futility. Now Sombra only wishes he could have stayed dead all along.

Cadence and Shinning Armour thought everything was going fine. Then they find out Sombra has raised the umbrum, built an entire empire that's only 20 or so miles away and married one of their own citizens. They don't know how they didn't notice but they certainly feel like complete and utter idiots.

the problem of being an umbrum is that your hair can't be cut. it can, but it grows back by the next day making it obsolete. Sombra has managed to raise the rest of the Umbrum so they were able to offer him ideas on what to do with it. despite going from tribes to an empire they kept many things such as the traditional braids they put their hair in, many of which were suggested to Sombra. along with the copious amount of gems and metal beads that can be woven in. he would ask his mother but her styles take to long to do. so he gets an idea off of his daughter, even if he was forced into it. except she's a toddler. so nothing could go wrong...unless you have a fragile masculinity. which thankfully Sombra doesn't.

Following the events of The Last Problem many years later...

Her last friend leaves her...

Twilight Sparkle mourns...

Then she learns that King Sombra still lives with her friends in the stars...

In a world where light and darkness can not exist without each other and the living become one with either the stars or the blackness in the sky upon their passing, one must wonder what happens when Twilight Sparkle's friends pass away from the world and meet King Sombra. As the two begin to question their destinies, they begin to wonder what would happen if their roles were reversed...

The cover art, as you can tell, was done by the wondrous Enigmadoodles/MayhemMoth. MayhemMoth also gave me advice on what to edit for the premiere chapter, so extra kudos to her, check out her work!

The entirety of Golden Oaks Library has been demolished by Tirek's hand and while Twilight and the others are searching through the rubble for anything that survived the attack, they're all horrified to find Sombra caught up in the rubble.

Now in the hospital, fighting for his life, Sombra lies unconscious with little chance of waking up. During his sleep, Pinkie waits for him to awake as she reflects on everything they went through together as a couple, including the fight they had not long before Tirek's destruction of the library.

Sometimes you don't realize how important things really are until it's too late.

Sombra wants to sleep. He really does. But he can't. Why? Because he's lonely.

Twilight Sparkle tries to reform King Sombra into a nice pony, when she finds his horn and takes it to Ponyville. But it is harder than expected. Twilight learns more about Sombra by talking to him and asking questions about his past. Will Twilight be able to reform Sombra, or will she have to banish him? And what happens when a villain falls in love with a princess?
