Trapped In Darkness
Twilight paced around her throne room in the Castle of Friendship nervously. She and her friends had already been thrown in a tailspin of self-doubt, but it was about to get more rough than ever for her and her friends. The others entered the room quickly. "Thanks for coming so quickly—" Twilight said to her friends, to which at that moment, Discord appeared in the room so suddenly, startling the rest of them.
"Sure thing. But if you're gonna be the ruler of Equestria, you may want to work on your penmanship." Discord told her. He conjured up an urgent message, and read it out loud to them. “This looks like it says, ‘Cadance sent an emergency message. Sombra's back, and he's taking over the Crystal Empire.’”
"That's exactly what it says!" Twilight said, warning them.
"But... But how is that possible?!" Rarity gasped, as they got up from Discord’s snap travel. “I thought the Crystal Heart had dispelled him into the ether!"
"I have no idea!” Twilight said in worry, knowing that her brother, sister-in-law, and niece were in danger. “But he's back, and it's up to us to save the Empire and my family!"
"Shouldn't somepony tell Celestia and Luna?" Fluttershy suggested.
“Ooh, good point!” Discord whispered to his kind friend, as he roped her, Pinkie, & Spike in for a hug. “One of us should probably loop in the real rulers of Equestria.”
"No.” Twilight said, making her decision, and deciding to take matters in her own hooves. “If we're going to run Equestria, we'll need to handle things like this on our own." She stated firmly.
"Oh, Twilight! Could this mean that you finally have the confidence to ascend to the throne like the princesses believe you can?" Discord asked happily, as he projected a blue flame of Twilight from his hand.
"Maybe?” Twilight then, smiled nervously, as she flew up to him. “Unless you’d consider taking care of Sombra for us?" She asked him, as the others smiled as well.
"Oh, no-no-no-no! You're absolutely right!” Discord said, pushing her away, and handing her a graduation cap, a trophy, and million dollar check. “You need to learn how to handle these things on your own. Ta-ta!" He pulled down the very background of her castle, and left.
"Handlin' things on our own is all well and good, but the last time we defeated Sombra was with the Crystal Heart." Applejack informed the rest of them.
"What if he has it already? How are we gonna stop him?" Spike asked in horror.
Twilight removed the merchandise, and looked at the map and then, her flank. She got an idea! "With the Elements of Harmony! With those, we can defeat anypony! Even Sombra!" Twilight answered as she flew down to them.
"Ah, no-no-no." Discord warned her, as he opened up the background. "You didn't need the Elements the last time you defeated Sombra. And I'm not sure that using them still counts as ‘“handling things on your own.’” He made air quotes as he said that.
"My family is in danger. I'm not taking any chances." she warned the mismatched creature.
“She's got a point.” Rainbow Dash agreed with her.
"Ugh, fine." Discord groaned, feeling totally ignored, and left.
“What's his problem?” Pinkie Pie asked, confused at his recent behaviour.
"Starlight, can you stay here and-" she started.
"-take care of the school?" Starlight finished her sentence. "I've got you covered."
The Mane Six raced over to the tree of Harmony and Twilight used her magic to take the elements from it, and applied each of them to her friends. Now armed for battle, they raced off to the Crystal Empire!
In the Crystal Empire, a phantasmic Pony King...Sombra of course, was chewing on grapes in victory. He had succeeded in taking over the throne, and now he felt like there was no stopping him. Princess Cadence was firing at his throne but it failed to go through his force field. She, Shining Armor and Flurry Heart were all trapped in his Diamond prison.
"It's cute that you think that will do anything." Sombra gloated to them.
"It might not, but they will!" Cadence warned him, pointing to the door, as the Mane 6 came onto the scene.
"Cavalry's here!" Pinkie Pie announced, as they headed toward him.
King Sombra just chuckled. "How can I be surprised when I'm waiting to show all of you your greatest fear?" He then sent a glowing green-eye projection over to them, as they were lifted off the ground. The projection hit them, as they were put under their worst fears.
It all went black for Twilight, as she was in a void. She then saw friends and family under the evil king’s spell, and battle masks and armor were placed onto them. She was shocked, but she was about to be further shocked when she saw visions of Celestia and Luna...her soon-to-be predecessors...looming over her.
They scowled at her. “Oh, Twilight. How disappointing.” Celestia said disapprovingly to her.
“Equestria was in your care, and you let it be destroyed!” Luna added, angrily as well. Twilight was now horrified as she saw them transform into Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker before her eyes. She felt like she had failed them.
The Mane Six were struggling to overcome their fears as Sombra’s dark magic kept surging through them. “You should all surrender!” The king said, as he walked up to them. “Nothing can defeat your own fears!”
Now, they did have the elements of Harmony, and they were going to have the edge to defeat Sombra. But, since they were in his grasp, somehow, the Elements powered down all of a sudden. The heroic ponies tried to break through! They really did. But, Sombra’s magic was too powerful for them to activate the elements of Harmony, as they went jet black.
Twilight couldn’t break through the evil King’s spell, and neither could her friends. Here, she was ready to handle things on her own, and now it looked like it might have been all for naught. She might as well have failed to save Equestria. “I tried my best!” The alicorn said sadly, as she and her team, were wrapped up into his power “I'm sorry...Celestia!” She cried, as the last pure tears trickled out of her eyes.
The Mane Six slowly opened their eyes, to reveal that they were now green-coloured. They were now under his spell. Cadence, Shining and Flurry were all shocked upon seeing this. “...Oh no...Oh no...” Cadence said in horror, as she saw them land down on the ground, approaching him. “Oh no!”
“Twilight! No!” Shining shouted from the prison. “Don’t do this!” Flurry Heart looked like she wanted to cry too, upon seeing her Best Aunt Ever now under his control.
“Pathetic Ponies, aren’t they?” Sombra asked, smiling at the Mane Six. He pointed to the royal family. “Only good for their Powerful magic!”
“Twilight! He’s tried to put you under your spell before!” Shining called out to her. “FIGHT HIM!”
He just turned to face them, and laughed. “They can no longer hear you!” He bellowed. “They can only hear me now!”
Cadence and her family was shocked upon hearing this. Here they thought Twilight would save them, and now it looked like they had lost a sister-in-law! “NO! TWILIGHT!” She cried out, horrified.
“And, now I will give them their first order!” Sombra said, as he turned to the brainwashed six. “Annihilate them!” He pointed to the royals as he said that.
"Yes, my liege." The ponies all said in unison as they ran toward them. They all jumped up, and Twilight readied her horn to fire at her former family.
Celestia stretched out on the sunbed and let out a big contented yawn. It felt good to be finally retired after a thousand years of political affairs. Equestria was safe with Twilight Sparkle and her friends. If there ever had been a perfect time to relax and enjoy herself, this would be the time...under the cloudless sky, blown by the warm breeze from the seashore.
She lit her horn and moved the sun just a little bit right to make its rays caress her flanks and the tender spot between them. She closed her eyes and let the sea breeze stroke her cheeks gently.
“Your cocktail, Your Majesty.” Raven Inkwell’s said. Enveloped in complete serenity, Celestia almost forgot that she had brought her assistant along with her. The mare definitely knew how to make herself as quiet and invisible as possible. At least as long as there was no reports flowing into her hooves and constant reminding. And Celestia had made sure to pick the most distant island that could be found on Equestria’s map. Nothing to worry about here.
“Thank you, Raven,” Celestia said, taking the cocktail in her magic grip. She made a long sip and the cold liquid washed down her throat, cooling it greatly. “You’re free.”
Raven bowed and made to trot off to the mansion on the other side of the island. As soon her assistant disappeared behind the line of palm trees, Celestia inclined forward on her sunbed to take in the view before her. She watched the waves crashing onto the soft white sand. Listened to the soothing melody of it. Not far away dolphins were jumping high out of the water as if performing an intricate dance just for her. But no matter how beautiful the scenery was, Celestia couldn’t help but return her eyes back to the beach and she closed her eyes, and started to take a nap. She had deserved this moment.
However, a half-hour later into her nap, she struggled to shrug something off. She heard some evil laughing in her sleep, which intensified greatly! It intensified to the point, where she couldn’t relax. She woke up with a start, and gasped. “No!” She said in horror.
Luckily, her sister, Luna raced over to her quickly and stopped in front of her. “Sister!” She cried out in alarm. “What’s wrong?”
“I’ve just awoken from a terrible nightmare, Luna.” Celestia said worriedly.
“Well, why do you think I’m here?” Luna asked, as she walked up to her sister. “This is no nightmare...but a vision. One of terrible things to come.”
“Then, it’s true.” Her eldest sister said, as she sighed. “Something must’ve happened to Twilight and the others, Luna.”
Luna’s eyes just went to neutral. “What are you talking about, sister?” She asked. “Twilight and the others can handle things on their own. Can they not? Remember when you made that retirement announcement?”
“Yes, I do.” She bowed her head down. “I remember making that announcement, and passing the throne down to Twilight. But...” she looked back at her sister. “...I heard some laughing, and I awoke just earlier now. Whatever it was, it cannot be good.”
“Worrying about the little things in life again. Aren’t we, Celestia?” A voice said. The sisters jumped in shock, and looked around for that voice. “I’m surprised you haven’t gotten wrinkles by now.” They were shocked, and jumped back to see Discord by their side.
He chuckled. “Royalty or not, it sure gets them every time.” He said.
Luna scoffed. “A fine time to join us, Discord!” She said, harshly.
“Is it now?” Discord asked, chaotically. “Who am I to deny anypony in appearance, especially when I was just dropping by to see my favourite Princesses?” He smiled sweetly.
The sisters just facehoofed. “This is no time for games, Discord!” Celestia said seriously. “Luna’s just had to help me recover from a horrible vision that has come to me. Something has come to threaten our very home once again.”
“Oh, well. When isn’t something coming to threaten Equestria?” He asked, as he snap changed into various personas of past villains they have faced before. “Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, Empress Cozy Glow, even yours truly before Twilight and the others came to town...what could possibly be the damage this time around?” He changed back into his usual form.
Celestia sighed, and decided to tell him. “I don’t know, yet.” She said. “But, I heard some evil laughing and ever since our announcement to retire, I fear something may have happened to Twilight and the others.”
“Oh ho ho!” He laughed, before smiling. “There’s nothing quite like a fresh new batch of darkness, threatening Equestria in such a long time.” He conjured up a vision of Midnight Sparkle, which shocked both sisters. The vision vanished, as the sisters shot him dirty looks.
As that happened, the smile on his face vanished. “Uh, what were we talking about just now?” He asked, confused, as if he were going off topic. “Need we be reminded of this vision of yours?” He put on a turban as he said that. “If so, thankfully this new darkness could be what could wipe us all out. Fortunately, Twilight’s nowhere near that stage! Am I right?”
Celestia was shocked as they heard him talk about her former faithful student, and now successor to her and her sister. They both shot him a dirty look. “Don’t even JOKE about that, Discord!” She said, growling. “Twilight Sparkle would never abandon her studies OR her friends to gain greater power!”
“Precisely!” Luna added with her sister as well. “Young Sparkle proved time and time again that she is deserving of her title! What gives you the right to make a mockery out of it as such?”
Discord cleared his throat. “Yes, but have you forgotten...Spirit of Chaos already standing right before you?” He asked, snapping his fingers. Raven’s legs turned into wheels as he did that. She shrieked as she tried to control her new body,
“Regardless...” Celestia said. “Although, my sister and I were both wondering what brought you here in the first place!” She gritted her teeth.
“Oh, fine!” He grumbled, as he snapped his fingers and Raven’s body was back to normal. She checked herself to make sure all her appendages were in once place. “And, speaking of Princess Sparkle and her troupe...I was wondering if either of you two had seen them or Fluttershy anywhere?” Their eyes widened as they heard them talking about his friend. “We were supposed to have a tea party today, but she was nowhere to be found.”
The two sisters looked at each other nervously. “Should we tell him, sister?” Luna asked her. “Or should we rather let him find out?”
“Come come now, Celestia.” Discord said, as if he was calm, but getting impatient. “You two know I don’t like to be the odd Draconniqus out.”
Celestia sighed. “I fear that Twilight and the others...have all but vanished. Something terrible may have happened to them.” She said sadly.
“Oh well, that’s a load off my chest.” Discord said, wiping the sweat off his head in relief. “I suppose I’ll check around Ponyville and see if she’s gone to pick up...” just then, he recalled Celestia’s answer and was shocked. “Fluttershy’s gone?!”
“We’re afraid so, Discord.” Luna added regretfully. “My sister feared something may have happened to them.”
“That’s exactly what I was about to tell you, Your Majesty!” Raven said, urgently, as she ran up to the three immortals, worried.
“Raven?” Celestia said in shock. “Is something wrong?”
“Okay, what’s going on here?” Discord asked, confused as he and Luna both wanted to know.
“It’s a serious calamity at Equestria’s borders,” Raven said worriedly. “It’s an emergency!” Her expression remained stoic, and urgent. “King Sombra has just usurped the Crystal Empire.”
This made Discord gasp, and his body tense as he heard this news. “Wait, what?!” He asked in shock.
“What?” Luna muttered, surprised as well. “We shall move out immediately!”
“Hold on, you two,” Celestia said to them, calm but serious. “Is this from Twilight Sparkle?”
“No, Your Majesty,” Raven stated, still nervous. “It’s from the reconnaissance patrol. And, I’m afraid Twilight and the others haven’t returned since then!” She said, shaking her head.
“Impossible!” Luna said determined and shocked. “Surely, Twilight and the others have returned by now!”
“I don’t like it.” Discord said, as he scratched his beard, and pondered about this predicament. “Something is wrong. And for once, it sure isn’t my chaos magic!”
“That’s an understatement.” Celestia said in agreement. “Who else was with her, when she left?”
“Uh, the rest of the Elements of Harmony were, your Majesty.” Raven answered.
Discord was now nervous when he realized what that meant. He was on full panic attack mode. “But that must mean Fluttershy's in danger!” He said in horror. “Danger plus chaos equals perfect!”
“What?!” Both sisters asked in confusion.
Discord just sighed. “Math. Don’t ask. Grogar would probably have a field day about this...” his mind then clicked as he put two and two together. “Wait a minute...GROGAR!” He said in realization. “Surely, he’s responsible for bringing Sombra back!”
The sisters were shocked upon hearing this. “Come on, Discord!” Luna said, rubbing her head in stress. “You blame Grogar for everything, and this time you don’t have any evidence!”
“Fair point.” Discord said in realization. He turned to Raven. “Counter point...when exactly have I been wrong?”
“Uh, never?” Raven simply answered, nervously smiling at him.
“Yeah, that’s right!” Discord said, as he conjured up a jet pack for himself, and two glider-like jets for Celestia and Luna. “Alright, let’s RIGGEDY RIGGEDY ROLL, SONS!” He snapped his fingers, as a portal opened, and the immortals took off through a laser-like grid to get to The Crystal Empire.

“Yeah, let’s go, Daddy-o!” Luna shouted as she was in the blue-glider like jet.
“What the—?” Discord saw them. “How the hell did you two get inside the jets?!”
“I’m...just as surprised as you are!” Celestia said, from inside the yellow glider-like jet.
“Ugh...I really need to start paying more attention to things.” Discord groaned as they zoomed through the warping portal, and to their destination.
Back at the Crystal Empire, Cadence, Shining and Flurry were already taking a brutal beating from Twilight and her friends. Rarity and Fluttershy were using Flurry as a punching bag, Applejack, Pinkie and Rainbow were delivering brutal kicks to Shining, and Twilight was punching Cadence to the ground, hard.
Cadence was horrified that her own sister-in-law was attacking her own family! She tried to reason with her. “Twilight, stop. PLEASE!” She pleaded. “I keep telling you that Sombra’s just using you for his puppet to destroy Equestria! Don’t hurt us! We’re your family!!!”
“And, I keep telling you...likely story!” Twilight said angrily, as she readied up her horn. “Now, clench your teeth!”
Cadence was about to be shot. She gasped as she tried to back away. “No!” She cried out, as she was about to be blasted by her own sister. “NOOOOOOOOO!” She braced for impact. It was all over, King Sombra would win. The Crystal Empire would be his for the taking. Unless...
At that moment, the doors to Cadence’s throne room burst open as the glider jets landed. Celestia, and Luna popped out of them, while Discord appeared without his jetpack. They arrived on the scene, and not a moment too soon as Cadence was about to be decimated.
“Never fear!” Discord proclaimed bravely as they arrived. “For, we are here to...!” They suddenly noticed Cadence about to be zapped to bits. “Is it just me, or did it get a little dark in here?” He asked them.
“Celestia! Luna! I'm so glad you're here!” Cadence said scared, but happily. “Sombra took over, and he has the elements in his control!”
The sisters and draconniqus rushed over to her immediately. “Well, well, well!” Sombra laughed evilly as they glared at him. “So the Royal family is here for their reunion? That’s almost adorable!” He readied up his horn.
It was time to take charge for the immortals. “Don't worry, Cadence.” Celestia said, as she and Luna turned to the evil king. “We know how to handle Sombra.”
“That’s true.” The king admitted. “But, can you handle...them?!” The mane six arrived before the immortals with their glowering, green eyes, and their icy stares.
“What has he done to them?!” Discord asked, upon seeing their friends in such a state. Celestia, Luna and Discord were all shocked upon seeing them. They had expected to see their successor and her future council, but not like this!
“Twilight! Fluttershy! Pinkie!” Celestia cried out in shock.
“Rainbow Dash! Applejack! Rarity!” Luna cried out in shock as well.
“They can’t hear you, Celestia!” Discord said to them concerned and sadly to them.
“Agreed!” Luna added. “They must be under his control!”
“That’s right, you three!” Sombra gloated. “And they have one purpose, and one purpose only: to destroy you!” The immortals now knew what they were up against. The unthinkable has happened: Twilight and her friends were under an old enemy’s control.
“What do we do now?” Luna asked her teammates, as they got ready to fight.
“I don’t know!” Celestia said horrified. “If we don’t stop him, the Crystal Empire will be under siege again, Twilight and her friends will be enslaved, and there won't be an Equestria left to save!”
Luckily, Discord got an idea. “I’ve got an idea! You two can handle Sombra!” He told the sisters. “I’ll handle the rest of those ponies!”
The sisters both nodded, as Discord cracked his knuckles. “Good luck, Discord!” Celestia said, concerned.
“Thanks.” He said, as he got into a fighting pose. “We’re going to need it!” The sisters nodded, as they got into fighting poses as well.
Sombra was ready to send his brainwashed ponies on the battlefield, as he gave his command. “Attack!” He shouted as the Mane Six rushed over to attack them.
“Let’s go!” Discord said, as he took off for his friends.
“For Equestria!” Celestia and Luna both said as they went for Sombra. Discord then zoomed back to them. “Repeat what I just said!” He said, just to make sure.
“We’ll handle Sombra, and you can handle the rest of the Ponies.” Luna relayed the message back to them.
“Thanks, I forgot.” He said, as he bolted off for them.
The sisters started their fight off by combining their magic, and firing it at the phantasmic king, enveloping him.
They couldn’t see where he was. “...Is that it, Sister?” Luna asked. It looked like it, but unfortunately, it was only the beginning of a battle. Sombra had just descended a hunk of Crystal over to them. Luna was shocked, that it got to Celestia. However, her older sister wouldn’t give up, as she blasted the Crystal to rubble, and tackled him.
They were ready to go at him again, as they flew close to him at accelerated speed on both sides, reading their magic. However, the king had other plans as he sent piles of Crystal over to them on those sides, pinning Luna to the wall, and enveloping Celestia in one. She was shocked that her sister was trapped. “SISTER! NO!” She screamed. She started to cry.
However, Celestia would not be defeated so easily, as she immediately broke out of the Crystal, and zoomed over to him. Sombra took notice. “What?!” He asked as he teleported away.
Celestia landed to where he was and looked around for any trace of him. “Show yourself, coward!” she shouted. She then heard his laughter, and immediately turned to him. She blasted him, sending him to the wall.
He got back up, and was surprised that she was still standing. “Never knew you were still that powerful, Celestia!” He said, as he rubbed his head. “I’m impressed!”
The sun Princess went closer to him, and her look on her face looked like it was ready to kill. “It's over, Sombra!” She said with rage. “STAND DOWN!” She fired at him, sending him a few feet back.
He was impressed by her feat of power, but he wouldn’t give up either, as he fired at the Sun monarch, but it was blocked by her shield, as she moved back a few feet with it. “So... much... hatred!” He said, slowly walking up to her. “You speak of cowardice...yet, you are still powerful as you were thousands of years ago!” He readied up his horn to fire at her. “But, have you forgotten whose domain you are really in?”
Celestia growled as she took down her shield, and fired a few beams at him...gattling gun style at him. He couldn’t deflect them all. “I don’t care what you've done here!” She shouted, as she fired at his chest plate, sending him down on his flank, as he got back up. “You will fail!”
The evil king’s eyes flashed green, as he jumped up and fired at her. Celestia gasped, as she teleported away from him, and reappeared behind him. He turned, and their horns clashed. “It seems even the gods lack purity in their hearts!” He proclaimed, as he swung her away, and they clashed again. “I can taste your wrath... And it is delicious.”
Celestia’s eyes flashed white, as she extended her wings out, and readied her horn at him. “Silence, you monster!” she shouted, as she fired at him, as he teleported away in a ball of smoke. She shielded herself from the impact.
Meanwhile, Discord slithered over to find the others, and was shocked to see Flurry, and Shining behind beaten and bruised. He gasped, and growled as he zoomed over to them, and smacked the five bad ponies so quickly it was lie, using the sheath Slash Maneuver on them! They couldn’t see where their opponents were, and were shocked.
Discord zoomed over to a nearby corner, and put Shining and Flurry down. “My former friends don’t have that much control over you, and they sure didn’t see that attack I laid on them.” He told them seriously, as he turned back to the Mane Five. “I’ll do everything I can to stop them!”
“Nice to know, Darling!” Rarity said, as she and the others arrived, and got into a fighting stance before him. “....since, we’ll do everything we can to stop YOU!”
Discord motioned to them to get to safety, as they nodded and evacuated the room. Once that was done, he turned to them. “Hate to say it, girls!” He snarled, snapping his fingers as a bamboo staff appeared and he caught it. “But, you can’t do better than that against the Princesses!” He swung his staff, at Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy, knocking them down easily.
However, Pinkie got back up, and she and Rarity grabbed him by the arms. “Hey, what’s going on?” Discord asked, as he struggled to break free from their grip. “What has Sombra done to you?!”
“He made us obedient!” Pinkie said, her eyes, angry and she smirked. “And now, you can join Fluttershy in his little troupe!” She turned to Rarity. “Rarity! Zap him!” She nodded, as she readied her horn. Discord was now frightened, as he was next in the Sombra-fied troupe.
He started to back away from them, as they walked closer to him. “Pinkie, don’t do this! I’m the spirit of Chaos and your friend!” He panicked. “It’s me! Discord!”
The two mares closed in on him, as Rarity readied her horn, and Pinkie her hooves. “Shut your mouth, Draconniqus!” Rarity growled as she aimed her horn at him. Discord was horrified as he would meet his end again by a unicorn.
He had to retaliate. He kicked Pinkie in the gut. “Sorry, Pinkie.” He confessed, wriggling free of Rarity’s grasp, and zoomed away from them.
The ponies HAD to get to them. “Get him!” Rarity shouted, as they darted after him. But, Discord was nimble on his chaotic feet, as he ran past the others. Applejack and Fluttershy noticed his escape, as they too followed him.
“Stop the draconniqus!” Applejack shouted, as Rainbow Dash knocked a bunch of ceiling from the castle, blocking his path. Now, Discord really was trapped.
“No escape!” Rainbow said, grinning evilly before him.
Discord was now shocked the Rainbow blocked him. “No, Dash!” He said, on panicking level. “You can’t!”
The rest of the Evil Mane 5 arrived, and surrounded him, and Discord felt trapped. “We’ve been expecting you!” Rarity said, as she held him in her magic grasp. “Where are the other Princesses?”
“Where is Fluttershy?!” Discord angrily asked, struggling to break free.
“Here.” He heard a voice, and turned to see the Sombra-fied Fluttershy right behind him. “Tell them everything they need to know, Discord.” She said, sweetly, and giving him an evil smirk. “Don't worry, you did much the same to me in the maze when we first met." She said grinning looking him in the eyes. “Become one of us!”
Discord was shocked and sad to see his friend under the evil king’s control, as he continued to struggle free.
“No!” He said, trying to fight tears back. “I’ll never join you!”
“It IS your destiny!” Fluttershy said, slowly walking up to him, as were the others.
“Now, Ponies!” He heard Sombra’s voice next. “Destroy the draconniqus!” They nodded, as Dash grabbed a slab of Crystal and raised it at him.
Discord now quivered in fear, as he saw the ponies who were once his friends about to kill him! “Dash!” He said, giving her puppy dog eyes. “NO!”
“This is your last chance!” Sombra said, as Rainbow was about to do her power play on him. “Where are the other Princesses?”
“Right behind you, Sombra!” A voice said. Sombra turned, and was shocked to see Luna break free from her Crystal prision, as she fired at him, piercing him right in the chest.
“What?!” He asked in pain, feeling the cut sting deep as Luna flew over to him. He snarled, as he the cut healed quickly, and ran to her as Luna fired a barrage of arrows over to him. Quickly, he summoned a Crystal slab to block her attacks, but Luna swiftly destroyed it with her magic.
They both ran to each other, and clashed with their horns. The surge of light magic sent both of them back, while Luna jumped on a wall and took at shot of his chest armor, sending him a few feet back.
The Evil Mane Five gasped upon seeing their new master beaten like this. “Our king!” Rainbow gasped in horror.
“NO!” The others said in surprise, as Discord smiled proudly seeing Luna handle him.
He quickly seized this chance to run up to whack Rainbow to the ground with his lion paw, swiftly with no sweat. Rarity and Applejack tried to kick him, and blast him, but he was swift as he jumped up, and dodged their attacks. He was so nimble on his mismatched feet. “Don’t get me wrong!” He said, slyly. “You guys rock! But, none of you are strong enough...” He swung his staff, and knocked them both down.
Fluttershy & Rainbow (who got back up) zoomed over to try to punch him, as did Pinkie, who was trying to use her party cannon on her. But, he was quick to dodge them. “Or, fast enough! Whiffers!” He said, as grabbed all three of their heads, and smashed them together. “All that being said, I’m really sorry about this.”
“Then, stop!” Rarity said angrily, as she aimed her horn at him, trying to get a clear shot.
He gasped and punched the fashionista with his chicken claw. “I wish I could, Rarity!” He said regretfully, as he got back up, with dread on his face.
Meanwhile, Luna and Sombra were at an impasse with their fight, and so far it was evenly matched. They faced each other, weapons and magic at the ready. “Relentless...” He groaned, upon seeing her. “Why such lengths to protect your petty imperialistic interests?”
“You're a fool if you think that's what I'm trying to protect.” Luna retorted to him angrily, as she jumped up and swiftly slashed Sombra a few times, delivering a sharp blow to his gut! The evil king was about to slash her with his axe, but Luna immediately froze it in Crystal. Sombra was furious, as he saw his weapons vanish and Luna landed.
He was ready to even his score as he used his dark magic to conjure up a Crystal prison and trapped Luna in it. She was shocked and trapped. But, she wouldn’t give up yet, as she broke free of her Crystal prison, and was ready to have another go with him.
“I was curious as to why your sister would fear you!” Sombra said, slowly walking up to her. “It seemed she was right to do so.”
Luna gasped, and growled. “Leave my sister out of this!” She said sharply. “She did not fear me.”
“You shall see before long.” The evil king said, as he fired another Crystal beam, only for Luna to block it. “Do you think she honestly understands the night and all its glory?” He kept firing at Luna, only to have his blasts swatted away by her.
“Do not pretend you do in turn.” Luna shouted at him, her eyes glowing white.
“Oh, I understand perfectly.” Sombra said, as he chuckled. “You find me to be a tyrant, yet the best kind of slave is one who is willing.”
“Silence!” Luna boomed, using her Royal voice, sending the phantasmic king a few feet back.
“You can deny my warnings all you wish. It won't change your fate.” Sombra continued to gloat, as he walked up to her.
“Save! your! breath!” Luna shouted with emphasis to him, as she walked closer to him.
“Even if by some miracle you were to defeat me, you'd only soon fall to your sister.” He continued to tell Luna as she huffed furiously. “Why be forced to choose? Equestria will see many a foe in its future.” He explained, his magic still unwavering. “Would it not make sense for us to stand against them together?” He smiled devilishly to her.
“We would sooner take our own lives than submit to you.” Luna yelled, as she readied her horn to fire at him.
“Submit? Just like you have to your sister?” Sombra laughed, as Luna continued to growl, his words feeling like a sharp blow to the gut, every time he spoke. “I admire your resolve, Luna. You are strong, and far more fit to rule, far more deserving of repect... than your sister.” Luna thought in her mind whether to accept right from wrong. And in her heart, she knew what was the right choice, compared to a foolish one.
“You have an opportunity now, to take her place.” The king bargained. “Together, we can show the nation what it truly means to fear the night.”
However, Luna’s mind was made up as she readied her magic and got ready to zoom over to him. “You are a fool...” she said, upon moving towards him.
Sombra’s eyes glowed green. “Then, So be it.” He said, as they were ready to clash for the first time in a thousand years. Once they zoomed toward each other, everything went black...but only for a few seconds. Then, Luna was violently thrown to the ground, with Sombra standing a few feet away from her, his back turned to her.
“Such a shame.” He said, as he slowly started to walk away.
“LUNA!!!!” Celestia shouted in horror, as she flew over to him. She helped him up. “Are you okay, Sister?” Luna got up, and opened her eyes, to show they were green, with purple slits out of them. The eldest sister gasped, tears welling up. She had already lost her successor, and her friends, and now she might lose her sister. It seemed like, the world was out to get her.
However, the green eyes dissipated, and were normal again. “I’m alright, Celestia.” She said calmly, as her sister was happy again, and they hugged. She then broke the hug after a few seconds. “But, how are we going to stop him?” She asked. “I don’t want to banish the empire again. If we do that, we could also lose Twilight and her friends, Cadence and Shining as well!”
Celestia gasped, and realized that her younger sister was right. If they did that, they’re would be a very good chance that Cadence, Shining and Flurry Heart would be gone...so would Twilight Sparkle, her precious student, as well as her friends. She might never see them again. “I don’t want to lose Twilight!” Celestia said, between tears.
“Neither do I, sister.” Luna said to her, worriedly. “There has to be another way! If not banishment, then what else?”
“I don’t know, Luna.” Celestia said, sadly, before smiling at her sister. “But, I bet we can try another solution that will work.”
“Such sentimental nonsense!” Sombra gloated, as he appeared right before them. “How about another rematch?” They gasped upon seeing him, and without a moment’s notice, they zoomed to either side of him, their magic at the ready, and their lives on the line...again!
Back to Discord as he was still fighting the Mane 5. He used his tail to whip them down to the ground easily, and they were dizzy, trying to get back up. He dusted his hands off. “Well, that takes care of that!” He said, proudly. “I’m sure glad I’m okay!”
“But, you won’t be for long!” A voice said. Discord turned, and was shocked to see Twilight Sparkle walking towards him, angry green eyes and her horn at the ready.
However, Discord was ready to fight as he loaded his claws with his magic. “You want to get to the Empire, Twilight?” Discord growled as he struck a pose. “You’re gonna have to go through me!”
“Very well, Draconniqus!” Twilight said, as she was ready. “Prepare for termination!” Discord gulped, as he didn’t like to hear that word, and he wasn’t ready to face his fate...especially before Twilight takes the throne in Canterlot.

“I don’t care if Sombra has you under his control!” Discord said, as he got ready to fight. “One shall stand, one shall fall!”
“Why throw away your life so recklessly?” Twilight said, as she took a blast, only for Discord to dodge it.
“That's a question you should ask yourself, Twilight Sparkle!” Discord said, seriously as he snapped his claws, and got ready to run towards her.
“No, I'll crush you with my bare hooves!” Twilight shouted as she zoomed towards him, and the Lord of Chaos and Princess of Friendship were locked in a duel that would determine the fate of Everyone in Equestria.
“This shall determine that!” Discord said, as he started the fight off by tackling her down to the ground. However, she was strong enough to throw him off of her, sending him into a wall.
He got back up, and picked up a black crystal shard. “All right, well I guess I can take you to school!” He said. “I’m gonna need a pencil for this!” He tossed the shard at Twilight, who dodged it, as well as his chaos blasts. She ran over to him, and sucker punched him to the wall.
Discord snapped his fingers, and conjured up a sword for him, as he ran back to her. “WRITE THIS DOWN!” He shouted as he slashed her down, unable to project a shield in time. She slowly backed away.
Discord was ready to finish her, as he jumped up. But, Twilight delivered a ferocious punch to him, sending him down. However, Discord got back up, and spun in a tornado-like movement, as she was violently thrown down to the ground.
This was his chance to strike at her, while she was still down. He readied his claws, and snarled at her. Twilight was shocked upon seeing her attacker. She gasped. “No more, Discord!” She pleaded. “Give me mercy! I beg of you!”
“You who are without mercy...now plead for it?” Discord asked, as he aimed at Twilight. “I thought you were made of sterner stuff!”
“Of course I am, Draconniqus!” Twilight grinned evilly as she took the chance to fire at him.
“Yipe!” He yelped, as he dodged the blast from Twilight, only to find that it got Celestia from behind.
“Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Celestia screamed as she was knocked into a wall RIGHT by Sombra, by Twilight’s magic.
"Sister!" Luna exclaimed as she rushed over to Celestia. "Sister, are you okay?" She asked again.
"I'm fine.” Celestia said slowly as she got up.
“But, you won’t be for long!” Twilight said evilly, as she landed right in front of her former mentors! The sisters gasped, as they now knew they would have to face Twilight...their own successor.
“I’ve been waiting!” Twilight said, as she readied her horn.
“TWILIGHT!” Both sisters cried out in sheer shock.
“Has Discord failed to take her on?” Luna asked.
“It would seem that way.” Celestia said to her sister, looking sadly at Twilight. “I never wanted us to fight my student, but now...here we are!” She got back up, and was ready to face her former pupil. Eyes, glaring angrily. “It’s just you and me now, Twilight!” She said, sharply.
“What took you so long?” Twilight asked her, as she readied her horn to fire at her and her sister.
“Let us help you, Twilight!” Luna said, as she came to her sister’s side.
“I have to destroy you!” Twilight shouted angrily, as she fired repeatedly at her predecessors. They gasped as they dodged her attacks, and set up the shields to block her attacks out.
"I don't want to hurt you, Twilight!" Celestia said, nervously at her now-enemy student.
“Listen to my sister!” Luna pleaded to her. “There are many Innocent lives at stake...even yours!”
“No pony is innocent!" Twilight screamed as she fired at the sisters, as they were thrown down violently. She fired again, only to find out they had fled. “No! NOOOOOOO!” She shouted in rage.
At that moment, they both showed up, and grabbed her from behind. “Haha! Fooled you!” Luna said, grabbing her in her magic.
“Not again!” Twilight shouted in rage, as her dark magic enabled her to break free, and punch the sisters down. They got back up, as they wouldn’t give up so easily. “Leadership makes me too weak!” She screeched.
“THERE’S a unique complaint!” Celestia grunted, as Twilight kept throwing them zaps all around to them. They backed away, when they reached Sombra, who was already laughing in triumph.
Twilight came towards them, and got ready to fire. “If you lose...Equestria and everyone else will be destroyed!” She bellowed, as she glowed green with evil.
Both Royal sisters were shocked when faced with this ultimatum. If they did lose, Twilight and her friends WOULD destroy Equestria. Both evil unicorns...well, unicorn and alicorn grinned wickedly, as they inched closer to their enemies.
“Twilight!” Celestia yelled in horror. “Don’t do this!”
“Twilight…you have to listen to me and my sister!” Luna called out, letting out filly-like sobs as she looked down at their soon-to-be replacement. “You have an era to live for.”
Both of them were caught between a rock and a hard place since Sombra had successfully took the Mane Six under his control, and it looked like Equestria would be his for the taking. He just grinned at the sisters wickedly. “There is no way to get your student back! She’s gone! They all are!” He sneered. “...and there’s nothing anypony can do about it!”
Hearing this caused both Princesses Celestia & Luna to shake their heads, feeling the rage they’d felt earlier when she’d been about to attack the King returning tenfold. Twilight was more than just a faithful student to the princess, and more than their successor to rule Equestria. She was the closest thing Celestia and Luna both had to a daughter. There was no pony more important to them. Now, Twilight had not only gotten broken, but now she and her friends were now on the evil king’s side.
The sisters would not have that! They rose and turned to face Sombra with narrowed eyes, and their teeth clenched.
“No! This cannot be! There must be a way, and my sister and I will beat it out of you!” Celestia growled, her rage fueling up in her, and her eyes turned red.
“And, If it is the last thing we do, we will save our successor!” Luna snarled, as her eyes turned white.
Sombra looked at the Princesses, and was surprised to see them, their rage boiling up to their breaking point. He wondered what was going to happen now.
“We know you're evil and you used to rule the Crystal Empire, but you take away our friend, and, future ruler of Equestria?! Really?!” Celestia asked, frustration boiling up to the top like a volcano about to erupt.
“You think you've found allies in darkness? Do you comprehend the powers you were gifted with? The same powers I was born into...?” Luna bellowed, as she too was about to explode with anger. “Where do you think the shadows all go to hide from the precious light? Just who do you think stands against them? What you possess is a mere fraction of their might...The same might we stand unyielding against each and every night and day!”
Sombra started to back away in fear as Celestia and Luna’s rage kept growing, and growing. “Like the magic of friendship doesn’t apply to you?!” They both said in unison, their voices getting deeper, as they now spoke as one furious voice. “Well you're just a great, big, power-hungry tyrant! And you are nothing more than pond scum in Equestria! You are the worst, king in all of history and in the universe!” Their voices got even more deeper, as they started glowing brighter, as they were ready to unleash their rage upon the king, for the first time in ever! “There! We have said it! What makes you think you’re so HORRID?!”
Without any change in their relaxed posture, the Princesses’ bodies swelled with muscle, limbs bulging powerfully, as they became lit like the sun and the moon, as if they were more amplified greatly than anyone had ever seen! Celestia’s mane burst into a plume of self-sustaining flames, and Luna’s billowed into a flowing veil of starry night. Their crowns and necklaces turned from gold and black to bright orange, and Sky blue, and armor like metal appeared on both the wings of them as well.
As Discord was handling the mane 5 (as he punched Pinkie to the ground), he took notice of the scene in front of him, and he gasped. He saw two armored alicorn sisters clad in super powerful armor, and their manes were lit in a way no one had ever thought of!
“Celestia? Luna? What in Equestia has happened to you?” He exclaimed in shock.
The two armored alicorns looked at him, and cackled. “Celestia!?” the now fiery pony scoffed.
“Luna?!” The now billowing night pony scoffed. “Ha! Those ponies are gone!”
“We are Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon!” Daybreaker proclaimed to him, and Sombra, as they turned to face him. “And we shall destroy this faker king for what he has done to the pony we consider our own daughter!" They both took to the air, their demonic eyes set on the one who’d controlled the pony who was most important to them. Sombra looked at the flaming pony in shock, as did Cadence, Shining, & Flurry, who were also present.
“No!” Discord thought in shock as he saw their presence. He gasped. “No, it can’t be!” he said in shock. “I never thought this would happen!” Of course, he’d never thought he’d live to see the day that his favourite Princesses would turn into their darker selves. For now, all he had to do was just watch in horror, at the dark fight that was about to unfold.
At that moment, Daybreaker’s and Nightmare’s horns lit up, but instead of a beam of magic, they sent out fire and ice at Sombra. The phantasmic king tried to put up his shield to fend off the attack, but the combined strength of their attacks were too much for him to comprehend, as he was overpowered, and cried out in pain.
“Well, THAT was unexpected!” He said in shock and fear, as he slowly backed away. “G...get out of here! And, you can take your worthless Elements with you too!” He’d stopped enough of the flames to avoid being incinerated but somehow, he still caught fire.
Once the flames and moon were doused from his body, he then dove out of the way as Daybreaker sent another shot of fire at her, narrowly missing some of the black Crystal shards.
Sombra was still in pain, which angered him… these dark alicorns had dared to hurt him. Looking up at Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon, he saw the transformed Princesses cackle.
“Is that all you got, Sombra?” Nightmare Moon said, as she cackled with glee. “Personally, we expected a KING of the Crystal Empire to put up more of a fight! Not a coward!”
Sombra snarled. He needed to use her full strength against these dark monsters if he was going to stand a chance. As they prepared to attack once again. They shot more streams of huge flames, and ethereal night beams at him who tried to counter with his beam. Though the attack looked puny compared to the fiery night inferno it went up against, it was concentrated magic, and it somehow pushed the attacks back. Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon were both hit in their chestplates. They grunted, obviously in pain. Sombra grinned and charged over to them.
The dark sisters gasped as they saw him, and dodged his attack, as they got up and were ready to handle him again. They were not such forces that would give up so easily, as they were much stronger than either Celestia or Luna combined! The three dark monarchs collided, throwing hoof punches at each other. Sombra targeted Daybreaker’s cheeks and the parts that weren’t covered by the orange armor, and landed a blow, Daybreaker snarled and spun in midair, catching him with her flaming tail.
The phantasmic king cringed as he received another painful burn, though not nearly as bad as the last one. He jumped back and kept his distance from the fire encrusted pony. Returning to firing spells at Daybreaker, he shot beams of his dark magic. Nightmare countered with more moon beams. Each of their spells canceled each other out, as Sombra snarled. He needed more power. But how was he going to get it midbattle, especially since he was cornered between the Princesses’ Amazonian doppelgängers?!
Nightmare, & Daybreaker walked up him, as they cackled maniacally. “Scared of us are you? Well you should be!” Nightmare Moon shouted. “Because my sister and I are going to end you slowly unless you tell us you’ll give back Twilight!” She readied up her horn, Daybreaker following suit, as evil grins slowly cam across both their faces.
“If you do it now, we both might consider sparing your life!” Daybreaker shouted, as their horns were at the ready.
Sombra just scoffed, although he was now more scared of them than usual. “There is no way to get your violet Princess back! I was not lying when I told you that!” he said truthfully. “Even if there was a way I am not aware of it!”
Hearing this caused both demon Princesses to scream, a mother’s hopeless scream with the knowledge that they were going to lose their child. “Then we shall incinerate you!” They both shouted as one in fury, sadness and rage.
Sombra felt both the heat and the moon coming and managed to jump to the side as the flames missed him and hit the walls of the castle. They demons fired more beams out in their rage, no longer caring about anything but destroying The evil king. He could sense the emotions in his pursuers starting to flare up as he dodged six more attacks.
“Stay still and let us Annihilate you, you...Dracula!” Daybreaker yelled.
"Oh yes," Sombra taunted. "Very motivating!" He grinned, feeling the frustration and hatred within Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon as he watched them soar high into the sky. This was his chance, as he jumped up high on his shards which rose out of the castle. He turned and faced the dark alicorns just in time to put a shield to block an attack that would have hit him for sure. Daybreaker & Nightmare had managed to catch up with him and was now unleashing a bright yellow light & Bright blue light from their entire bodies as though they were the sun & moon.
Sombra felt a large amount of fear at the display, but his shield held out. The tops of buildings that Daybreaker’s attack spread to were melted, exposing a few ponies that yelled, though fortunately for them, the light didn’t reach them as Sombra, Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker. It was fortunate for them Sombra had taken this fight higher up, not that he cared about any ponies. But he could use this to her advantage, to further the emotions.
“Careful! You might hurt the ponies you love the most!” He called at them.
The dark flaming, and billowing alicorns looked down and saw the damage they had done to the Crystal Empire. The hatred lessened in both sister’s eyes and was replaced with a look of regret. For a moment the flames and billowy stars of their manes and tails seemed to lessen in their intensity. Some of their manes even flicked with multiple colors, as though they were about to turn back into Celestia & Luna.
“What...what has thou done?” Nightmare Moon asked sadly. “Was this what we really intended for, sister?”
Daybreaker looked down at the ground, and realized what was happening. “No, this wasn’t what we had envisioned.” She said, sadly. She then remembered her student. “Twilight?” She asked worriedly. “Are she and her friends okay?”
“I hope so, sister.” Nightmare Moon said, as they hugged each other, embracing themselves in this hug. They were concerned about Twilight and her friends, but they were also concerned about themselves too. They had loved each other with all their hearts as they pulled each other close, and hugged. After all, that’s what sisters were for, as they loved each other in this embrace, and hope that their successor would be alright.
Sombra grinned wickedly. With his opponents distracted, he climbed the shards, towards them about to attack. They both gasped as they separated from him and his attacks, and reunited to take him down. He just grinned at them.
“Oh, you want your own family back! That feeling hurts doesn’t it?” Sombra asked, as his laughed. “Well, you’re both too late! Because I am about to take it all! Canterlot, The Crystal Empire, Equestria, and every pony in the land will be under my control!” He quickly enveloped them into a black crystal shard, and smiled as he headed back to his throne.
However, he spoke too soon, as the shard broke easily with the sisters combined magic. He turned to see them. “What?!” He asked, as they were now beyond furious at him. They were ready to explode!
“YOU REALLY THINK A SIMPLE TALK CAN JUST BRING US DOWN?!” Nightmare Moon shouted, as she fired a beam at him, as he dodged.
“IT WON’T!” Daybreaker shouted as well. “BECAUSE WE WILL NOT LET IT HAPPEN! WE WILL EXTINGUISH YOUR LIFE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!!!” They fired their beams at him, as he jumped down to the floor of the castle.
They resumed their battle. Sombra sent another dark beam at them, but they wouldn’t give up that easily, as they edged towards him. “The only one who shall win it all is Us!” Nightmare Moon shouted in rage to him.
Sombra tried to block their attacks, as he put up a shield. “Stay back!” he shouted, as he tried to save himself. But the armored sisters had already pinned him to the wall brutally.
“You are nothing compared to these forces we possess!” Daybreaker said, as she tightly held him by the wall and he could already feel her hot breath, and fiery body on him. “You are nothing compared to us!” She bellowed.
Sombra was shocked to see his enemies were now burning brighter than before. Their bodies glowing. “You claim to know fear!?” Nightmare Moon asked in rage, as they were now super close to him, as if they were ready to kill. “We shall show you true terror!!”
“What? How?” Sombra asked, upon being pinned to the wall, and seeing his attackers in fear.
The demonic sisters cackled.“In these form we can feed on fire and the stars and grow stronger from it just as you feed off hatred and fear!” Daybreaker told her.
“And now, we shall completely destroy you!” Nightmare Moon declared, as they readied their horns for their final attack.
Sombra snarled, and quivered. “Just die already you demonic foals!” He shouted, as he tried to shoot a beam at them, only for them to knock it back to the side, as they continued to snarl at them.
Yet another beam shot at them, as they put up their shields and blocked it with ease as they walked across the building that had once been burning. The evil phantasmic king’s eyes widened with terror as he realized the tables had turned yet again, and not in his favor. He’d just spent all of his extra power trying to bring all of Equestria under his control… and Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon had acquired new strength. The demonic ponies grinned and let out a breath of fire and stars in the same manner that a dragon would.
Sombra put up a shield flew to block out the powerful fire. He realized in an instant that his battle was lost. He couldn’t defeat either alicorn princess now that his power was waning. Flames shot at him as he screamed, running off in another direction.
“Come back here!” Daybreaker gloated. “You call yourself a king?”
A third chase erupted through The Crystal Empire, as both sisters sent Ultra-powered blast after ultra-powered blast at Sombra, hitting various buildings in the city. It seemed that they were so consumed by their desire to destroy the Phantasmic king, that neither of them cared about anything else anymore. Sombra turned a corner around a building, and then did the same quickly. Daybreaker & Nightmare flew past him, and he let out a sigh of relief.
It seemed his only hope was to avoid the demonic alicorns. He had no chance of taking on either of them now in a one-on-one fight. He then turned to see the demonic Princesses, glowering at him, and he conjured up a Crystal shard, which took him high up to the shield of the empire’s borders.
“You made a grave mistake coming here and attacking our subjects.” Daybreaker said, as she and Nightmare flew up to him. “Time to end this! Burn away!”
Both unleashed a wave of fire and stars that flew across the air of the entire empire, Sombra put up a final shield, which prevented him from being roasted, but he was still singed and frozen yet again. He fell to the floor of the throne room in the castle, in agonizing pain. He felt something heavy land on him and looked up to see both Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon glaring down at him with pure hatred.
“And now you shall die!” Nightmare Moon said. “Forever!”
Sombra opened his mouth, to speak. But, both sisters silenced him, putting their hooves over his mouth. But when they heard mumbles, they removed their hooves to allow The evil dark king to say his final words.
“Please! Please, I’ll call off the attack!” He said, desperately. “Please don’t kill me!”
Daybreaker scoffed. “Tell us how to reverse the effects of your dark magic.” She said, snarling.
“NEVER!” He said, growling as he tried to break free from their grasp.
“Never...is...here!” Nightmare Moon erupted, as she and her destructive sister fired their beams at him, immediately dousing him, as he screamed, his body evaporating almost quickly.
“NO! NOOOOO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” he screamed as he was instantly defeated and turned to ash, and his red horn was flung out of the empire and locked tightly in the icebergs that sealed it into the first place. The battle between the demonic alicorns and phantasmic king was over!
Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon breathed slowly, after their battle ended in victory. They looked at each other, and smiled. “We did it, sister.” Nightmare Moon said, happily.
“Indeed.” Daybreaker agreed with her. “We have saved everyone!” The two hugged in embrace and love after their latest victory.
They both panted hard, and smiled in relief, as they saw Twilight who was rubbing her eyes. She had to be safe. “Twilight!” The fiery Princess said, as they rushed over to her and her friends, who were knocked out by Discord’s fighting skills. Twilight’s eyes were slowly reverting back from green to white as her pupils returned.
As Twilight’s vision returned, she saw both the demonic Princesses from her vision from Sombra, and instantly got nervous. The rest of the Mane Six’s vision returned too, as they got frightened upon seeing the demonic divas. “Ahhh!” Pinkie screamed in horror. “It’s Nightmare Moon!” She pointed to them, as they backed away.
“No, Twilight! It’s us! Luna and Celestia!” Nightmare said, calmly as she and her sister smiled and reverted back into Celestia and Luna.
“Celestia? Luna? What happened?!” Rarity asked in shock.
“And, why are in in the Crystal Empire like it’s been through a tornado?” Applejack asked in confusion, looking around.
“What happened?” Twilight asked, as she rubbed her temples. “How long were we out for?”
The two sisters giggled nervously. “Uh, I’d say you six were out for an hour or so.” Luna said, snickering.
Twilight was shocked, as she did a double take. “AN HOUR?!” She shouted.
“At least.” Celestia answered.
“Oh!” Twilight said, sadly as she sunk her face in her hoof. “I know what you're going to say. I should have called on you as soon as I knew how dangerous it was. A good leader knows when to ask for help, and I didn't. Going with our guts was the wrong call! We should’ve never went to stop Sombra!” She felt like she was going to cry,
“Maybe, we should’ve let the real rulers of Equestria handle this action?” Fluttershy asked, guessing.
“YOU THINK?!” Discord asked angrily, as if he has a rough day. “Did I have to spoon feed you all these answers?!?!” The ponies backed away in fear from his response.
“Twilight!” Cadence said, as she and her family rushed in and hugged her. She was happy to have her sister-in-law back. “Oh, I’m so glad you’re safe and back.”
Twilight smiled, as returned the hug too. “Thanks, Cadence.” She said happily. “It’s good to BE back!” Flurry showed up and hugged her too. “Flurry!” Twilight said, excitedly as if she were about to cry, “Oh, Flurry! I missed you so much!” She hugged and rocked Flurry like a plush doll, and Flurry actually enjoyed it.
“And, it’s not often I thank traitors like you...” Shining said, as he glared at Discord, who coiled up in fear. “But, you proved to be a vital part in stopping Sombra and saving Equestria.” He smiled at them. “Thanks.”
“That was fun that you guys came!” Pinkie said happily.
“And easy.” Luna chimed in as well. “Also, truth be told, Celestia and I had fun today fighting Sombra to save you and our home. It's been millennia since we've gotten to do what you girls do. You all make it look so easy.”
“As magical battles go, that was a cakewalk for you!” Rarity complimented, as she smiled as did the others.
“Mmm... Cakewalk...” Pinkie said, dazed as they giggled.
“Well, We did try to handle this pretty well on our own.” Twilight said, as she turned to the two sisters. “But, we would still be under Sombra’s control, taking over Equestria if it wasn't for you!” She turned to Discord, slyly. “And, that spirit of Chaos!”
The sisters and Discord laughed, as did the others. “The feeling’s mutual, Twilight.” Discord said, shaking her hoof.
“And speaking of, Luna and I have decided it may have been a bit unfair to thrust this upon you without giving you the time you need to prepare.” Celestia said to them, as she looked at her sister. “So, we’ve decided we’re not going to retire after all.”
Twilight sighed in relief. “Thank goodness! I really wasn't ready!” she said happily.
This made Discord’s body jump out of its skin, and jump back in as if we heard right. “Not ready?! So, Twilight's not taking over?!” He asked angrily.
“Afraid not, Discord.” Luna said, as she and the others nodded, smiling.
Discord facepalmed in frustration. “Then, perhaps this was all for nothing!!!” He said, as he stomped out of the castle.
“Seriously, What's his problem?” Rainbow asked, as she pointed to him leaving & confused at his recent behaviour.
“I still don't feel like I'm 100% ready, but will I ever?” Twilight said calmly.
“Knowing you? Nope.” Applejack confirmed.
“At least I have all of you guys, and we have the Elements.” Twilight looked at her friends and family, who smiled at her, and she looked at the elements, which were powered up again, and shining brightly than ever before. “And together, we've never failed.” She smiled. “We'll be okay. Thanks for saving us again.”
“Oh, you’re all very welcome,” Celestia replied and she and Luna with Discord gave a warm smile, gesturing with her hoof for them to rise. “Now let’s all go home.”
Later, right after, the Elements of Harmony were put away, the Mane Six, along with Celestia, Luna and Discord were walking back to Ponyville, only this time, they took the scenic route, taking in the fresh air and view from the Everfree Forest.
“Once again, Equestria is safe.” Twilight said in relief, as she took in a deep breath to take her mind off of the ordeal that happened today.
“What should we do to celebrate?” Rarity asked, excited and hopeful.
“I vote for a cakewalk!” Pinkie said, as the others shared a laugh.
“A cakewalk?” Celestia thought, as soon as she licked her lips. She loved cake, and Everypony knew it. “That does sound fun! I haven’t had cake in a while! I wonder what kind of cake I’ll have?”
“Save your breath, Tia!” Luna giggled, stopping her sister. “...and let me pick my cake as well!”
“Oh, alright, Luna.” Celestia said happily. “You know I’d never leave YOU out of cake!”
“When have you ever?” Luna asked, as they chuckled.
Now, although the day was saved, Discord felt bugged about the whole thing about Twilight not taking the throne anytime soon, but couldn’t figure out why. He had such a carefully thought out plan for Twilight to get her confidence ready for this new responsibility. Yet, he couldn’t figure out what went wrong!
Fluttershy noticed her friend feeling a little annoyed, as she flew up to him. “Are you alright, Discord?” She asked him.
“I guess so.” Discord said sadly, as he stammered for a few seconds before forming whole words. “I just don’t understand it, Fluttershy!” He was frustrated and disappointed at the same time.
“What don’t you understand?” The kind Pegasus asked.
“All of it!” Discord said, frustrated. “The plan I had set out for Twilight made so much sense in my head. I thought if I brought Sombra back, Twilight would defeat him AND her worst enemies, to be filled with the confidence she needed to take Celestia and Luna’s place as ruler of Equestria....”
Twilight stopped dead in her tracks, as her eyes widened, and turned to face Discord...pure rage glowing through her eyes, and it shown on her face. “What?!” Discord gulped in fear, as Twilight got in his face. Perhaps, he shouldn’t have said that now. “Do you even realize that was information we could have used hours ago?!” She spat out angrily.
Discord was in big trouble as he took off running, boosting past the other ponies as Twilight angrily chased him. “WHAT DID I SAY?! WHAT DID I SAY?!” He asked scared as he continued to run from the angry alicorn, who tried to blast him while she was chasing him.
“I’LL GET YOU, AND I’LL EAT YOU ALIVE, DRACONNIQUS!!!” Twilight screamed in rage, as she fired many beams from her horn, as she chased the devious creature. The chaser and chasee went farther away, until they disappeared into the town square.
The others saw the fight that unfolded, and giggled. “Oh my!” Fluttershy said, as she balled up in fear, seeing her bestie get beaten.
“Oh, dear.” Celestia chuckled. “It must not take a psychic to figure out Twilight and Discord are chasing each other again!”
“Trust me, this is as crazy as it gets! Because, trying to shut her anger off, is like trying to wrestle a timberwolf!” Rainbow Dash added, as she and the others all shared this hilarious moment, and had a great laugh to end the day.
At the School of Friendship, Starlight Glimmer and Spike were in the main office, getting the school ready for the upcoming year. They were about to wrap up the papers, as Twilight entered, her mane in a messy frazzled state, and her eyes looked like they were bloodshot tired.
They were shocked upon seeing her like this. “Whoa, what happened to you?” Starlight asked, as Twilight shot her a look, which made them jump back. “Actually, on second thought, Don’t answer that!” She said quickly, as she got out a few objects to her. “Can I get you a comfort pillow? Security blanket? Empathy cocoa?”
Twilight threw them off, calmly. “Thanks, Starlight.” She said tired. “But, I can handle it myself.”
“That’s alright. So, how’d it go?” Starlight asked, nudging her.
“Two words...” Twilight said to her sadly. “Total...failure.”
Starlight’s ears drooped. “That bad, huh?”
Twilight nodded. “Did you take on Sombra?” Spike asked her.
“Not even close!” Twilight said frustrated and sadly. “Sombra brainwashed us and corrupted the Elements of Harmony!” They gasped as they heard that. “Luckily, Celestia, Discord and Luna came and saved us!” She gave a weak smile. “I guess they’re not going to retire after all.”
“Phew! That’s a lot to take my mind off of!” Starlight said in relief, as she wiped her forehead. She felt like a huge weight had been lifted immediately off her shoulders. “I've covered for you every time you've had to run off and save Equestria! Thank hoofness I’m not going to take over the school permanently!” Twilight smiled at her friend.
“So you want to talk about it?” Spike asked her.
“That’s nice, Spike. But right now, after the day I had, I feel like I just...” she yawned, as she left the room. “...need a...nap.”
That left only Starlight and Spike in the room, as they looked at each other, concerned. “You know, I think Twilight might need to take a vacation to recover from all this.” He said sympathetically.
Starlight nodded. “Agreed.” She said, as they looked where Twilight had left with worry. Their friend was frazzled up, and they sure could give her a vacation...maybe, even a spa day to relax and rejuvenate...and maybe, even a picnic with her friends. Surely, they could join her as well.
But right now, it would be best to give her some rest, so she could recover. And hopefully, she could get the vacation she deserved real soon when she woke up.
