Shortly after his escape from Tartarus, Tirek is visited by the ghost of his friend, King Sombra, while wandering through the frozen north.

Some think that when you die your life flashed before your eyes. This is not what happens, for when you die you go on a walk with death and simply talk about what you have done. King Sombra is dead and is taking this walk, What will The Pale Mare have to say to Sombra?

His defeat during the siege of the Crystal Empire did not kill Sombra. He was already dying. Now alone in a frozen wasteland, his final moments approach.

King Sombra knows he is losing.

The Crystal Empire is about to fall to Equestria, and he can do nothing about it.

Or can he? Preparing his last resort spell, he steels himself to do what may be the hardest thing in his life. He will endure the passages of time. He will persevere.

For he is King Sombra.

King Sombra is on the verge of enslaving the Crystal Empire; the guards are under his control, the royal baby is in his grasp, and the royal couple are at his mercy! So why is a baby laughing at him?

"I would say I was the king of darkness or former king of the crystal empire. But now, I am In a predicament where I have been transformed back to an infant, lost all my powers, and now sit next to the world's first alicorn baby."

"And to make matters worse, I must re-live my life from an infant without the blessing of my powers. Did I ask for this? NO! Do I want to go through with this? Absolutely not! Do I have a choice on the matter? Nope!"

Princess Celestia's best student, Sunset Shimmer loves to read books. She thinks of friends as a waste of time. She tells Celestia exactly that when the Princess Of The Sun tells her to make some friends.

She says she's already got a friend and that's enough for her....

Everything used to be perfect. Sombra was a happy foal, the world was great despite the high chance of freezing. But then it all disappeared. Ripped away in moments.
Sombra wasn't the villain, he was the victim taking revenge. And the sight of the frozen mountains bring back memories of what once was.

This is going to be a big story, but expect slow updates as I'm balancing 6th form with it. How joyful. Also the tags are the most prevalent ones, stuff like sex will appear but not only will it be very vague but it also doesn't happen that often. I will put a warning on the chapter its self. Same thing goes for profanity.

King Sombra decides a more personal and less confrontational approach is needed, and investigates the second group of people heading up to the northern waste. A small visit, however, reveals a few things between the two as the king decides a battle of wits and wills is in order over fear and terror.

Also decided to up the rating to teen since some of my jokes and situations got a little suggestive
AU: after watching the episode it felt very rushed very little was given to me and despite how cool Sombra was he wasn't nearly as interested as the other villains i felt it was time to give the metal head a personality, as well as bring up a few small things that were touched on and put them in a much bigger light.
