This is a sequel to "Goodbye, Boneless." Technically, if you're trying to read in sequence, it also falls after "Flash and Trend Steal All Your Waffles." CheesePie, of course.

There's been another sighting of the mysterious Mare Do Well...but this time, all of Rainbow Dash's friends plead ignorance, insisting that they've put aside their costumes for good. Twilight must do her best to solve the mystery, reconcile her own feelings about this ordeal, and figure out just what Fluttershy is trying to say by writing all of this in the first place as the lines between fiction and reality begin to blur.

This is a thematic crossover with the visual novel 'Umineko No Naku Koro Ni.' No prior knowledge of Umineko should be necessary.

After the events in the past, Twilight can't help feeling dejected. She would never see Starswirl again. Or at least, that's what she thought right before he came knocking at her door. Meanwhile, in the past, a still somewhat immature Celestia is desperately trying to find a way to deal with the unfolding catastrophe. Luckily, her spymaster is always there, ready to lend a helping hoof.
