Originally written for a Quills and Sofas Appledash contest, After The Storm follows Applejack and Rainbow Dash’s relationship as they disagree on how to help Sweet Apple Acres after a natural disaster hits.

Rainbow Dash has pulled a muscle in her wing. Not a big deal, until she tries to fly home on it in bad weather and nearly dies. Fluttershy saves her, carries her home, and takes care of her.

Flutterdash hurt-comfort/cuddlefic. Contains non-erotic sensuality and ponies talking about their feelings.

After delivering some apples to a far away customer, Applejack gets lost on the way home. Stuck dealing with a bunch of troublesome situations and ponies she'd really rather not have to bother with, she just wishes she could find her way home and more than anything to just be able to eat an apple again.

On a winter morning in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash throws a snowball at Applejack.

Things escalate quickly.

Pinkie Pie reads a newspaper headline warning of an increase in the price of hugs. Now she has to track down all her friends and give them a final, free hug before she can’t afford them anymore!

A lighthearted tale of ponies, hugs, and the socio-economic implications of monetizing physical expressions of companionship in a post-capitalist society.

Rainbow Dash is used to doing dangerous things. Deadly stunts? That's just a normal workday. But illness is something worse. Something scarier. Something she can't control.

So even though the diagnosis turns out benign, her brush with mortality has still left Rainbow feeling...

Unfinished.

Time to take a look at her bucket list. But when a mare has already mastered the skies, what more is their to reach for?

Fluttershy finds herself in Canterlot, along with Rarity.

Well, not exactly "with" Rarity. The problem is, Rarity doesn't seem to know that Fluttershy is there.

Fluttershy will need a lot of paper, a fair amount of luck, and a little bit of magic to capture Rarity's attention.

All ponies who fall gloriously in battle on the plane of Equus are raised to sit in Celestia’s hall of Valhalla, and they spend each day fighting each other again and again, only to celebrate the evenings as friends at the Great Feast. This is the tale of two “bitter rivals”, who find themselves dueling to the end, day in and day out.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash enjoy some time out together with their pets. What starts off as a short pet playdate turns a fun-filled day together.

The story contains plenty of sweetness and cute moments.

Makes references to my Fluttershy & Rainbow Dash fillies fic, Crashing Angels but works well as its own cute short story too.

While Rainbow Dash helps Rarity with a gem-surveying mission, they discuss an interesting hypothetical proposed by their mutual friend, Twilight.
