This is a curious almost eerie piece (With the total lack of dialogue), and for me it seems it could be shipping or not, it works both ways.
Perhaps it is the lack of knowing what "Paperman" is or is supposed to represent, but it seemed like the piece was all one big intro to another story, it establishes an emotional feeling for Fluttershy and what she wants (what ever that may be), and makes Rarity seem elusive though she is not trying to be.

Paperman is a Pixar short that shows in the beginning of Wreck-It Ralph. Pretty much the same thing happens, except it's two humans, and one's a guy. Not a bad little movie, either.
