Pinwheel is a simple earth pony. She lives in a little cottage outside Sweet Apple Acres, she makes pinwheels for a living, and she has plenty of friends. But one day, when she goes flying with her good pegasus pal Dizzy, she takes a fall and lands in the dark crossroads between life and death! If that's not bad enough, the Grim Reaper is forcing her to bargain for her life! And what will she do when that bargain takes a somewhat more...personal turn?

Rarity orders a collection of gems from the crystal empire to give her new designs that little bit extra. Included in the shipment is a magnificent ruby that is far more than what it seems. After the gem reveals that it has inherent magical properties, Rarity and the rest of the Elements of Harmony are pulled into an adventure complete with living mannequins, the Mirror Pool, life and death struggles in the Crystal Empire, and a budding romance between two of the most unlikely of ponies.

A weary stallion wakes up on the shores of Horseshoe Bay, battered and weary, with not a trace of his memories left. As he struggles to remember who he is and how he wound up in such a place, he catches a glimpse of a mare off in the distance, standing on a cliff by herself, staring out towards the sea. Though the mare seems unfamiliar to him, something in his heart tells him that she holds the key to unlocking his memories.

Sunburst spends the evening with his daughter, Fluttershy, for her birthday. Part of the annual tradition has him visiting Posey's room and trying his best to dwell on their happier times together.

Fluttershy surprises Sunburst by asking after her mother and the unknown parts of her past, invoking a stroll down memory lane and a tale of love and loss.

This is...not my masterpiece per say, not yet anyhow, but once I finish touching it up I think it will be safe to call it that. At least until I out do it. I'm currently in the process of updating it where i've caught errors and had some help working on dialogue. I've decided to not dwell on perfecting this piece and instead will be focusing on future works. I did enjoy writing this, but when my motivation to write dwindled, so did the will to edit it properly. I'll instead look on it fondly as a sign of improvement as I move forward.

All is well in Ponyville. At least, that's what everypony says. One by one the residents of Ponyville begin acting strangely, calling into question the feeling of dread Rarity just can't seem to shake. A dark presence has slithered its way into Ponyville... one Rarity is sure she's felt before...

Will she be able to save her friends in time before its too late? Will the pony she fell for return, like in all her dreams? Only time will tell and she's quickly running out of it.
