There used to be an old sitcom that ran for years on end in the sixties called 'The Beverly Hillbillies'; the protagonists were a group of subsistence farmers from the hill country of Arkansas who sold the oil rights to their otherwise worthless property and moved to Los Angeles to be closer to their money.
