Well, I never played EarthBound/Mother so I don't know anything about Ness but this is heads dangerously to my most hated plot device: Giving the main character a convenient case of memory loss. Whatever character you take, if you wipe his memory he might as well be an OC.
But nothing is set in stone yet and I hope it wont come to that :)

It was only a temporary thing, mainly because I decided to let people choose his favorite thing/food. Ness will still be himself, or at least as I can interpret him (10-year-old, adventurous, naive, etc.). Thanks for the feedback!
Just got finished reading both chapters and I like it so far. You having some unknown being defeat giygas was far better then how the game had it. They give you 40 characters and my name is only four letters long. They knew who was praying long before giygas was defeated. Being a big fan of the game I know how powerful Ness is and the temporary memory loss is a good way to level him down. My biggest questions is if your going to have ness do a smash attack and do it like how the game shows it and if your going to leave him as a mute mind reader or give him a voice. Not having him read some of the snide comments people are thinking might kill the story for me a little.
