Last spring, Luna, then-Vice President of Canterlot High School's student body, took the next step up and ran for President, winning in a landslide. With school back in session after the summer holidays, she was looking forward to a smooth first legislative session.

Emphasis on was.

Seething after finding her Cabinet unruly and inflexibly positioned against her, Luna, having departed in a huff as soon as possible, heads off to find the nearest phone booth. She needs one voice, the only voice she can count on for a semblance of sanity -- last year's Student Body President, who just so happens to be her older sister.

Takes place in a rough EqG equivalent of the late 1990s-early 2000s, at least in technological terms.

An entry in Imposing Sovereigns IV, using the prompt Vice Principal Luna/Unorthodoxy. Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass.

Haven't read the fic yet, but +1 for the Clue cover image. I love that scene. :rainbowlaugh:

After the following week’s meeting, there was a clear sign of progress. Luna only nearly tore one of Canterlot High’s back doors off its hinges.

Progress is progress! As long as the portal's weird light won't consume her…

Very enjoyable fic with a nice take on the two sister's who are not in the same monarch position as their pony counterparts. The conflict of others seeing Celestia in Luna and that being challenged is very believable and fitting—and sure, I don't know enough of Celestia and Luna to judge their portrayel here, but I really like their character and how they handle it.

All in all, a well done job with this fic

Alright, the mood whiplash when she shouted at the others outside the phone box… yeah, I cackled.

A beautiful exploration of Luna’s self doubt and the bond between the sisters, and a peek at what things might have been like without the Moon Incident in the pony world.

You capture Luna’s indignance and uncertainty perfectly, and Celestia trying to be supportive without condescending, and the occasional little spark of comedy was just the cherry on top.

A delightful read.

love luna's characterization here!

Your voicing for both of them is spot on. Loved it!

Years before, in elementary school and even junior high, Luna had found herself a frequent guest of the student counselor, due to her having had a slight issue with the fact that all her classmates were obnoxious morons that impeded her ability to learn.

I know that feel, Luna. I'm no genius, but the people I went to middle school with were dumb as a box of rocks.

:pinkiehappy: Omg I love this Luna and Celestia dynamic!

It's nice to just see them go about life and all that. And Luna still sometimes struggles with being in the shadow.

Delightful stuff, though Luna’s sesquipedalian loquaciousness did get grating at times. Plus, it might have been better to see some of the cabinet meetings, though that’s drifting from the central focus of the story: a deep look into the sisters’ dynamic in their younger years and just how much untold fury boils just beneath the surface of any given Luna. Thank you for this, and best of luck in the judging.
