The day had finally come. Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle stand before each other in wedding gowns, prepared for the happiest moment of their lives. And as those two pivotal words draw near, they reflect on just what it means that they've made it to this point, together, and how they got there.

Winner of the Sunset x Villain "Tying the knot" contest. (Yes, Sci-Twi counts.) Pre-read by Dewdrops on the Grass and The Sleepless Beholder.

Featured on March 2-4, 2024.

In the many months since Twilight Sparkle transferred to Canterlot High, Sunset Shimmer's been to her house a good number of times, enough for it to feel reasonably familiar. So when she notices something she's never seen before -- a large, blue-tinted plush shark she calls her blåhaj -- on Twilight's bed, she can't help but ask about it. She's a little surprised to find Twilight looking a bit embarrassed about her stuffed animal -- but when Sunset realizes it might be emblematic of a sore spot in Twilight's life, she realizes it's up to her to restore the magic of the blåhaj.

Can be read as either platonic or shipping.

What's a blåhaj? Here's a summary. And remember the accent on "blahaj"!

Pre-read by Dewdrops on the Grass and The Sleepless Beholder. Featured 30 January-2 February 2024.

Sunset Shimmer doesn't live in Equestria. She hasn't for a long time. But she's been visiting, more and more, having found herself drawn closer and closer to the alicorn princess who once saved her from herself, and having also found her affections were reciprocated.

Now, Sunset's been invited to spend Hearth's Warming in Ponyville, together with Twilight in her castle. There's no doubt that Sunset's happy to do so, and every moment Twilight's there makes that clear. But as she looks out upon the snow-capped small town decorated in its bright lights, she finds herself still at a perpetual distance from the world she once belonged to, both in spirit and in body.

It's not a sentiment she'd expect Twilight to relate to. But there might be more in common there than she thinks.

Last spring, Luna, then-Vice President of Canterlot High School's student body, took the next step up and ran for President, winning in a landslide. With school back in session after the summer holidays, she was looking forward to a smooth first legislative session.

Emphasis on was.

Seething after finding her Cabinet unruly and inflexibly positioned against her, Luna, having departed in a huff as soon as possible, heads off to find the nearest phone booth. She needs one voice, the only voice she can count on for a semblance of sanity -- last year's Student Body President, who just so happens to be her older sister.

Takes place in a rough EqG equivalent of the late 1990s-early 2000s, at least in technological terms.

An entry in Imposing Sovereigns IV, using the prompt Vice Principal Luna/Unorthodoxy. Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass.

There's few better ways for Twilight Sparkle to spend a lazy weekend afternoon than propped up against the pillows on her bed, with her girlfriend resting on her body and reading her a story. Sure, she may have left her glasses out of reach, but that hardly matters when all her sensations are focused on Sunset's voice and body anyway.

Of course, Sunset might have an easier time reading if her partner would stop giving her little teases. But where's the fun in that?

Days after her banishment to a new world, Adagio Dazzle stands at the edge of the ocean, hungry. She seeks a morsel not merely of the sea's bounty, but of the power her siren body once wielded, of the knowledge that her days as a dominant force of nature are not yet over.

She has a lot to learn about the human body.

Generally speaking, working at the Canterlot City Museum of Science and Natural History is far from the most exciting job in the world. But Maud Pie is fine with that. And on the slow day of the week, she was prepared for a relaxing, low-stress day on duty.

And then Fluttershy came in with a rather pressing emergency.

An entry into the A Thousand Worlds Contest II. Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass. Very loosely inspired by a true story from Tipper.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Midnight Sparkle has left a lot behind in her quest for the secrets of power, beyond the constraints of the Jedi Order she once served. She has answered the call of the dark, and in doing so, abandoned her old identity and purged her old connections with painful finality.

Yet as she seeks the knowledge of a powerful Jedi holocron that once lay outside her reach, she's confronted by a face she never thought she'd see again...

For those familiar with Star Wars (the story does not require more than a basic knowledge of series lore), this story takes place at an unspecified point in the galaxy's history, and features some creative departures with the canonical depiction of Jedi holocrons.

Second place winner of the Sunset x Villains Sci-Fi Shipping Contest. Also an entry into A Thousand Worlds Contest II. Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass.

Learning how to be human, in the sense of both her physical body and her new outlook on life, has been an interesting process for Sunset Shimmer. Just as she starts to think she's figured things out through and through, something else comes to shake things up completely.

The latest such instance being when she learned her best friend had begun to think about their relationship in a whole new way.

And as Twilight and Sunset begin to explore what it means to care for one another the way they do, encounters with Twilight's family bring back moments in Sunset's life she'd long tried to lock away in shame. Resolving to confront some of the ghosts of her past in person -- albeit not quite in person -- the pair embark on a journey that brings Twilight to a brand new world, and Sunset to one she struggles to recognize, as both find themselves laying their souls bare before each other.

Cover art by Avery Day, who is pre-reading the story alongside Dewdrops on the Grass and The Sleepless Beholder.

While this story is not specifically a sequel, it is in continuity with two other fics: The Final Conversation and Milkshakes, Marionettes, and Midnight. The story begins late during the events of Legend of Everfree and diverges further from the canon timeline during "Dance Magic".

Timberwolves. Among the most fearsome creatures to lurk in the depths of the Everfree, these hulking, wooden monstrosities have sharp senses that make them deeply efficient at hunting and tracking ponies and other sentient beings that wander into the forest—and making sure they don't ever leave. Anypony with a lick of common sense knows they're not something to be trifled with, and any (generally ill-advised) venture into the Everfree must be done in groups and/or with extreme caution.

The new species of hairless ape that keeps falling from dimensional portals in the sky into the depths of the forest, however, seems to be entirely lacking in said common sense.

Not to be taken especially seriously. (Not that me saying so is seemingly stopping anyone.) Features implied violence, but no gore.

Pre-read by Dewdrops on the Grass and The Sleepless Beholder. Inspired by discord conversations with Estee about the common "Mandatory Timberwolf Encounter" trope in Human in Equestria stories.

Winner by default of the Dishonorable Creatures Contest I. Featured on 4/19/23-4/20/23!
