Well it's good to know that Sombra is just as impulsive as the next pony, at least

Doomsday needs a good weapon to go with it.

The Kaiser was a horrible diplomat.

No dislikes
Congrats

Interesting take, a nice study into his character and a very well written resolution.
I also applaud the way you insinuated the danger, powers and effects of the doomsday weapon without ever putting a name on it or saying directly what it did and how.

Wow. Your Sombra is a right proper evil bastard, but damn if you did not give him some slick panache.

Indeed.

That whole "These were the lightly protected vaults. Low security. Drunk tanks. The artifacts in them were only deadly. He needed something much, much more powerful" line was absolutely delicious. So much insinuated and implied,

He merely lacked the proper armaments

I disagree. needed more dakka

A Big Mek-Boss once had a thunk that maybe there could be 'enough dakka'. Possessing no ready concept of 'consequences' or 'safety' or even of what 'enough dakka' might look like if he found it, the Mek-Boss constructed two epic devices, festooned with big shootas and rokkit launchas and combi-weapons of all varieties.

Painted the brightest yellow, these two devices were positioned pointing at each-other, in a configuration the Big Mek called a 'Supah-Dakka-Collidah'. With his enormous WAAUGH! for an audience, the Mek-Boss fired the weapons.

To this day, the site of the experiment is a massive void in space, manifesting even in the cosmic background radiation.

Sombra... lacked... enough... dakka.

But did he have enough dakka?:trixieshiftright:

See, if cute tyrant cuddle horses admit it, more is needed

One can never have enough dakka. That is not an opinion, it is a fact.

What do you think it does?

Heh, I knew I recognized that lyric. Good music taste Flint-Lock, now to actually reading the story.

Indeed. Sombra did indeed need more dakka, hence why he went past those "drunk tanks" and got the little soul-phoenix thing in the little paperweight at the back of the vault

I wrote a review here! I hope you find it .

Ooh, nice. I'm a sucker for stories that develop Sombra and the Crystal Empire, and this is an especially interesting variant of the tyrant that we've gotten a look into the head of.

A perfect plunge into madness.

Honestly, a perfect short-story for Sombra that emphasizes on what the community wanted to see from him: pure, unadulterated and sweetly cruel madness that contrasted with every other villain's one-note quirks. His personality here feels like a mix of Discord and Celestia, combined with the worst possible traits any pony could have and amped up to eleven. A total and irredeemable bastard who flips the established concepts of MLP on their head. 10/10
