E

This story is a sequel to Apple Family Reunion

I get the feeling you dig trains, boyo.

9835385
Oh, I do. I thought my account name gave it away, but apparently not.

Theres a song about Pips hometown?

Down in Nottingham?

If you really want something sad to see, especially for a railway lover, head to Manchester, Museum of Science and Industry.

Where they have Rocket on display.:pinkiesad2:

I went to MOSI when they still had the mainline connection. Couldn't fit it in on my most recent visit to Manchester, but I did take a ride on the Chord- a stretch of railway that didn't exist the previous time I'd been there!

9835472

Weird how one of the best ways to get from Manchester Picadilly to Manchester Victoria, is the Newcastle train. Im just sad they couldnt use the existing or removed East side link through or past Ancotts? or they couldnt keep Fairfield St station for extra Picadilly capacity.

9835630
Thanks. Yeah, maybe I was a little long winded.

9835677
Indeed. But more on that tomorrow.

9835692
Well, not at the weekend, but more on that later.

9835845
Yes indeed! Fire up the engines, as WE ARE ROLLING!

9835965
But not just yet. More shall arrive tomorrow.

9836049
You're quick off thr mark today!

9835412
Names can be deceiving. Looking at mine, you'd think I was some kind of bozo. Only half true. I'm a well-rounded bozo.

9837189
Thanks. What did you think of Apple Bloom's new clothing choice?

9837462
I know. I saw that image and my heart melted.

9837564
I agree. It's beautifully done.

9837601
Which is your favourite CMC member?

Next time; to the shed!

Bring it on! X3

9837830
What did you think of Apple Bloom's new attire?

9837893
Yeah. I thought that image was adorable first time I saw it.

Just hope they find the right shed. Someone almost found Rocket in one?:twilightoops:

9837922
People aroind here like doing that, it seems.

9837952

Id love to build a high pressure combustion chambered water tube boiler using a multistage turbocharger and magnetic oxygen seperator pre feed with catalytic surfaces and certain machined and formes surface details, just to see how small you can get if you seperate out the temperature resistance and pressure handling capabilities of the materials involved. Id really love to get oxy carbonyl flame hot enough that magnetic confinement and wiggler MHD direct conversion is needed as a first stage. :pinkiegasp:

9837974

Yup, amazing what you can find in sheds. :derpytongue2:

9838118

Not sure, wasnt the Flying Scotsman abandoned in a USA shed due to lack of funds for a while?

9838150
It ended up in San Francisco bay for a bit, then an Army base.

"I think we'd have noticed if somebody beat us to a great big shed!" Button said. "It's not as if you can just pick a shd up with its contents and carry it somewhere else, can you?"

Oh no. Air Pirates. :twilightoops:

Hmm, diesel Hydraulic? I thought that was related to automatic transmission with the torque converter, but where the two half turbines are seperated by hydraulic transmission lines? I know you can have buffers and accumulators, but they are extremely low capacity due to how the system works.

Thats why I had a look at ways of designing variable geared hydraulics back in university. Essentially a hydraulic ADC to DAC lifting jack with variable ratio, but flow rates instead of straight pressure. Four valves on each side gives (2^4)^2 or 256 ratios, with some overlaps and redundancies. Was origionally considered for robotics and prostheses.

I think I also tried finding any implementation where the hydraulics were used to replace crankshafts and conrods in a diesel engine, so you had the diesel engine head, valves, pistons etc, but the pistons directly acted on hydraulic fluid, for varying stroke, ratios etc?

9839070
I doubt an aircraft could even move a Class 52 in one piece!

9839071

Im pretty sure the An225 can lift the Big Boy? :rainbowdetermined2:

9839076
It could carry the weight of one, but obviously in pieces.

But there aren't many of those around.

Who do you think is the knowledgeable person?

I'm so bad at guessing >_<
