S4E4: Watch the Shop

Inside the large hall of Tao's Rare Finds, Mr. Tao was explaining to Cutie Mark Crusaders and even Spike about the rules and regulation about watching the shop. And at the same time, Mighty Heart, now at the backroom, checking on what supplies to buy and restock for their home. The children and dog were bored and annoyed to listen to his ranting.

Scootaloo yawned out loud as she is almost asleep. A sudden dope slap on her head has awoken her from sleeping.

"Pay attention, Scootaloo! This is important!" Mr. Tao scolded Scootaloo. He cleared his throat, "Uncle Tao and Mighty Heart will be out for a while, you girls must-!"

"Watch over the shop." Cutie Mark Crusaders interrupted in unison yet bored tone.

Jade sighed, "We know, Uncle. You've told us couple of times."

Apple Bloom nodded in agreement, "Yeah. I mean watching over the shop or even making some sales will be easy. It's same as selling the apples."

Mr. Tao became skeptical and concern as he stated, "I don't know…"

"Come on, Mr. Tao. We're the only girls you can count on. Besides, everyone's too busy with their schedule," Nyx insisted.

"Besides, you and Mighty Heart are gonna go out for a while. Can't be that long," Scootaloo said confidently.

"Yeah. We can handle this for a while," Apple Bloom insisted.

Mr. Tao sighed, "I supposed you're right."

"Hey, Mr. Tao. If we do make sales, do we get the allowance?" Sweetie Belle asked curiously.

"Sell something, then we talk about your allowance," Mr. Tao said seriously and firmly. He then looked at the entrance. Impatient, he called, "Mighty Heart, are you ready or not?"

"Yes, sensei!" Mighty Heart answered back. He just came out from the backroom's entrance. Holding the paper, he stated, "I have the list. We are ready to go now."

"Good. Time is wasting." Mr. Tao said in pleased yet firm tone. He turned and looked at Cutie Mark Crusaders, "Remember, girls. Watch-!"

"Watch the shop and no breaking antiques," Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike interrupted in bored yet annoyed tone.

Mr. Tao nodded firmly to them. Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike waved goodbye while smiling at them. He and his apprentice returned the goodbye wave to them. They turned and exited out of the shop now. Seeing them left, Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike sighed in relief and calmly.

Scootaloo sighed, "I thought he'd never leave. Now we can finally have some fun here."

Jade nodded happily, "Yup. No sisters and their boyfriends. No babysitters. And best of all, no one boss and mess with us. This place is perfect for us to have some fun."

"Huh? I thought we agreed to help Mr. Tao to watch the shop?" Sweetie Belle asked in confusion.

Scootaloo scoffed, "Yeah, I know that. Can't we have fun and work at the same time?"

Apple Bloom hummed in concern, "I don't know, Scootaloo. You saw how serious Mr. Tao is. And you know what happens if we mess it up especially with his antiques?"

Nyx nodded, "Yeah. Last time Tailtech and Twilight tried a new tech for Mr. Tao for spring cleaning, it ends up destroying the antiques. Laxtinct wasn't very careful with moving stuffs. Shadow Dragon did try to use his martial arts to capture them but he messed up badly. They all end up cleaning the shop while fixing the damages. Trust me, Mr. Tao shouldn't be mess with."

Jade rolled her eyes in annoyance as she remarked, "Relax. We won't do like that. When I said 'fun', I was talking about card games or video games."

"Or riding the scooter and skateboard?" Scootaloo suggested happily. Everyone glared at her. She scoffed, "Just kidding. Yeesh."

"Yeah. I'm glad that Mr. Tao let me roam around here." Spike said in relief and happy. He scoffed, "Finally away from those crazy Minicons. I never ever want to help them with their weird tastes again."

Nyx looked disturbed and uneasy as she remarked, "I don't think I wanna know."

"Just make sure you don't touch and break anything, Spike. The last thing you want is that you get kicked out." Apple Bloom warned Spike.

Spike groaned, "Don't remind me. That's the last thing I want if I ever done something wrong."

"Alright. Let's get started?" Apple Bloom asked amusingly.

Cutie Mark Crusaders gave each other a high-five and cheered, "YEAH!"

Suddenly, the girls and their dog heard a doorbell chimed. They all looked up and found Octavia Melody arrived and entered the antique shop.

"Welcome to Mr. Tao's Antique Shop. How may we help you?" Jade asked curiously.

Octavia looked surprise yet stunned by the young children being saleswomen. She questioned, "Aren't you girls a little young to be saleswoman?"

Cutie Mark Crusaders looked at each other for the moment. They all shrugged as they didn't actually bothered about it. Nyx answered, "Yes. Yes, we are."

Octavia was surprise by the answer. She shrugged it off as long as she gets the antique. She spoke, "Well then, little ones. I don't suppose that your antique has an 18th Century Piano, owned by Ludwig van Beethoven?"

"Ah… Who the-? What now?" Apple Bloom asked in confusion.

"Hang on a second, miss," Sweetie Belle said calmly as she looked through the antique list carefully. She gasped, "Why, yes. We do have. Please follow me."

Octavia nodded as she went and followed Sweetie Belle, who was leading her to the mid-cornered, near to the window. They found 18th Century model of piano, which surprised and amazed her a bit.

"My. Is this the one?" Octavia asked hopefully.

Sweetie Belle nodded in agreement, "This would be it, ma'am. This is a preserved and replica of 18th Century Model of piano. And also, you'd be surprise that it was made and named after Ludwig van Beethoven. We call it Beethoven Maestro Piano."

"Really?"

"Yup. It even come with some of his classical music notes especially when it involved piano. I'm sure you enjoy playing piano, right?"

"Why yes, I do. How did you know?"

"I like music too especially singing."

"How much it cost?"

Looking through the supply list carefully, Sweetie Belle hummed, "It costs 1,200 dollar."

Octavia smiled in pleased as she looked through the wallet, "I'll take it."

"Sold," Sweetie Belle said happily.

Just as Octavia and Sweetie Belle returned to the counter, she called the Diamond Thug Trio via using the cellphone for carrying and delivering piano to her home. And at the same time, she used her family credit card to pay for it from the counter, which Sweetie Belle wrote down the receipt for her to take.

Octavia turned and exited out the building, along with Diamond Thug Trio carrying and moving the piano out. The musical student waved goodbye to Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike, who waved goodbye to her.

"Thanks for coming," Nyx thanked happily.

"Wow. That was something," Jade remarked in surprise.

Scootaloo nodded, "Yeah. How on earth did you do that?"

Sweetie Belle smiled, "Because I know music."

Apple Bloom nodded in understanding, "That makes sense. You did enjoy singing and playing some music too." She then looked around of some antiques. She hummed thoughtfully, "Maybe we can do the same too."

Jade nodded, "Yeah. How hard selling antiques can be?"

Spike sighed, "Girls, has anyone told you not to use that? It brings bad luck to us."

Nyx huffed while wavered cockily, "Don't be ridiculous. It's not gonna happen to us."

Within 15 minutes, Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike greeted and welcome the customers to the antique shop.

Although they did their best to assist them to learn about the antiques and convince them to buy, the children were not familiar with some items especially talking about details, background and also reason. This disappointed and annoyed the customers about why the children become salesmen. Nevertheless, Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike managed to sell some antiques to customers, who barely convince and agree to buy them.

Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike panted heavily. They're all exhausted from working especially explaining and pleasing the customers about the antiques they were looking for.

"Guess it isn't easy as we thought," Scootaloo remarked in annoyance.

Sweetie Belle nodded, "Yeah. We only know some of them. Others like Babylonia or Aztec we aren't very good at."

"Tell me about it," Jade agreed. She groaned before slammed her head gently on the table, "How on earth did Uncle Kicker and Uncle Tao handle this kind of work? Man…"

"I don't know. Shadow Dragon and Twilight did say that it require tons of research and understanding about ancient civilization, culture and customs. And there really need to be carefully studies before fully explain of what it really is," Nyx explained. She hummed thoughtfully, "For example, some of Chinese Vase aren't actually for flowers or good looking. They really actually for toi-!"

"Wow there, Nyx! Don't say that! Not cool!" Jade exclaimed frantically and fearfully, "There are some things shouldn't be talk about."

Nyx yelped before nodded in concern, "Yeah. Good point."

"Well, we've managed to get this far," Apple Bloom said, trying to cheer up her friends. Showing some moneys in her hand, she smiled, "Check out how much money we make. We sold much of old antiques."

Scootaloo nodded in agreement, "Good point. We did sell lots of junk."

"Antiques, not junk. And some of them are very priceless and rare. They have to be treated with care, you know," Sweetie Belle corrected Scootaloo.

"Then you wouldn't mind us shopping for free?" A cocky Irish voice asked amusingly, alerting Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike.

The girls and their dog looked up and found DJ Red, Clumsy Rat, Shades, Black Tiger and Tech stood before them. They all cracked their fists. Cutie Mark Crusaders became scared and concern to see the bad guys again.

"Selling them in black market would make an easy money," DJ Red remarked.

"Not to mention, stealing cash for our bonus," Shades added while stretched his arms.

"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's just grab and get out of here!" Tech exclaimed impatiently.

"Do we need to hurt the kids again?" Clumsy Rat asked in concern, gaining everyone to glare at him. He shrugged, "I'm just saying coz we got beaten bad by them especially that Master Zhao Long's crazy fighting panda."

Black Tiger nodded in understanding, "True. However, they have no friends, no heroes and especially that insufferable panda to help them. We needn't need to be worry about it."

"So, we're going do this or what?!" Tech asked impatiently.

"Hey. Who's the boss, brat?" DJ Red asked in annoyance. Tech groaned in frustration. He nodded firmly, "Good. Let's grab and tied them up before they called for cops."

The Dark Enforcers yelled out loud before charging straight at the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike. They all screamed in fear before split up, prompting the bad guys to follow and deal with them at once.

Chased by DJ Red, Sweetie Belle went straight to the musical antique section. She quickly jumped and hid inside guitar case, which he easily spotted. Just as he opened it, he found the inside empty. Out of nowhere, she emerged out from the library, where she blew a loud trumpet at him. He turned to capture her but found her disappeared. From his back, she swung a banjo at his butt. He turned and grabbed her in time. She clapped the cymbals on his face, shaking and weakening him for the moment. She then tripped him to fell on the drum set to the ground. He got unconscious.

Clumsy Rat and Shades chased after Apple Bloom and Scootaloo all the way upstairs before split up. The bad guys did the same thing. Just as a young cowgirl entered the bedroom, the dimwitted muscle man entered. Instead of capturing her, she slammed a large vase, which he struggled to get it off before he tripped and fell on the counter hard. And at the same time, Shades tried to grab Scootaloo, who was scooting around the upper level. She then spun him around to get dizzy before kicked him to slide down the stairs. Both the girls regrouped and gave each other a high-five.

Tech chuckled evilly while readied and armed with blaster to scare Jade, who remained unimpressed and annoyed. This frustrated and annoyed the evil genius as he tried and use various kind of technologies and weapons to scare her off until he grab and arm with a wrench. This prompted Jade to charge and somersaulted over him before kicked him straight to the wall, getting knocked out.

Black Tiger shouted wildly and firmly as he was attacking at Nyx and Spike, who barely dodge and evade the attacks while smashing and destroying most of antiques and even books. Eventually, they both got cornered, where the martial artist enforcer was prepared to finish them off. But instead, he got ambushed by Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, who grabbed him by face. Just as he tried to grab them, Sweetie Belle threw some marbles for him to trip, slip and struggle to balance. This allowed Spike charged and bite him by butt. Jade jumped and thrust her kick on his stomach while Nyx charged and rammed him by back, causing him to fall against the book shelf. The books fell on him, prompting Apple Bloom and Scootaloo to back off.

Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike regrouped and met at outside. They witnessed and found Dark Enforcers were defeated and knocked out. They all cheered out happily before giving high-five.

"GASP! AIEYAH! What happened here?!"

Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike yelped in shock and concern. They turned and looked back, where they found Mr. Tao and Mighty Heart have returned from shopping. They both were deeply shocked and disbelief of what they just saw.

Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike giggled uneasily and nervously while shrugged, "Watch the shop?"
