S2E14: Metal Resolve

Having located the last Elemental Geode - Metal, Shorty and Tailtech took the team - Shadow Dragon, Rainbow Dash, Asami and Ciel. They're using the Dragoon Armor Strike-I Gunship, flying and heading straight to Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt. They landed their ship at the outskirt.

Shorty and his team then entered its entrance of Great Sphinx's small entrance. Using their flashlights, they were searching and looking for the last Elemental Geode. They've been travelling for two hours within the historical pyramid, and found nothing.

Rainbow Dash groaned in frustration, "Tell me that we're getting warmer. And please, no jokes about the climate! I am so not in the mood."

"Really? Why would you come here?" Tailtech asked in annoyance, "Please don't say that you wanted out of history class."

Rainbow laughed uneasily, "That would be it..."

"Still, why here? Isn't this place supposed to be where Sun Harvester is hiding?" Shadow Dragon asked curiously.

"No. The Harvester comes from the Great Pyramid of Giza, not Sphinx," Shorty corrected Shadow Dragon firmly and calmly, "And also, it's bigger and shaped as the pyramid."

BEEP! Asami looked at her Magical Detector, "Looks like we're getting close to the area. And whatever it has plans for us, best be prepared."

Ciel nodded, "Based on our studies on most of the geodes, we learned that each of them have one unique ability - Twilight's Levitation, Sunset's Psychic, Applejack's Super Strength, Rainbow's Super Speed, Rarity's Diamond Barrier, Fluttershy's Animal Communication, Pinkie's Explosive Sweets, Shadow Dragon's Aura Power, Blazefist's Overheat, Saber Dragoon's Storm, Terrorcreep's Nightmares, Aqua's Tidal Wave, Shorty's Healing, Laxtinct's Earthquake and Icy's Freezing Power. So, there is no telling what kind of the last geode has."

Tailtech hissed, "That's what I'm afraid of. No telling what kind of power could damage."

"I'm pretty sure we can handle it," Shadow Dragon said confidently.

Rainbow nodded, "Yeah. We've got this. We beaten couple of monsters and villains. This is so nothing."

"Don't push your luck. It's always best to be prepare for the worst," Shorty said firmly and calmly. He and his team stopped as they're now facing a large metallic door-like. He hummed in concern, "As I had expected."

"Uh... I'm no tour guide but shouldn't this door be concrete blocks or something very old?" Rainbow asked in concern.

"No, it shouldn't be," Asami agreed in concern as she used the Magical Detector to scan and check on the door. It made a loud beeping noise. She hummed, "This is definitely it."

Noticed some scribbles on the walls, Ciel said in concern, "There's more! It's instruction. 'Be warn! Should you dare to claim the geode, the mind over swords shall guide you to claim the Chamber of Traps'."

"What the heck does it mean?!" Rainbow asked in annoyance.

Shadow Dragon sighed, "I'm lost too."

"It's obviously test for Tailtech to overcome," Shorty said firmly. He hummed in concern, "But you can't do it alone. Mind won't be enough to overcome it."

"You'll help me?" Tailtech asked hopefully.

Shorty nodded as he gave the earphone to Tailtech, "I'll be eyes and ears. But you'll need a partner to help you out."

"I've got fighting skills and Darkness Powers. Count on me, kiddo," Shadow Dragon said confidently.

Rainbow scoffed, "I was thinking that speed is everything. I should be helping out."

"Three minds are better than one," Asami commented.

Ciel nodded, "Asami's right. If we combined our intelligent together, we can overcome whatever traps the chamber set up for us."

Tailtech hummed thoughtfully, "I have to be smart to overcome this problem. It won't be easy..."

Tailtech gave some thoughts of how he should proceed and handle the situation. Whom would he ask for partner to assist and help him to overcome the traps? Will he succeed or fail his mission?

If Tailtech chose Rainbow Dash...

After choosing Rainbow Dash as his partner, the pair marched and entered the chamber, where they're facing the complete empty chamber. Nothing but made of metals. This shocked and confused them both.

"Really? This is the Chamber of Traps?" Rainbow asked in annoyance, "I was kinda expecting to be some kind of epic and dangerous traps! It would have been awesome!"

Tailtech hummed in concern, "Just because it's empty doesn't mean it's not dangerous."

Shorty's Voice spoke through their com-link, "Tailtech's right. It's best that you should be high alert and be prepare for the worse. There is not telling what kind of traps might have. There are the list of..."

Rainbow grumbled in annoyance to hear Shorty's explanation. She turned her attention to the front, where she noticed the glowing geode ahead. She gasped in shock and surprise to see it. She couldn't have sworn that the chamber was empty. Nevertheless, she will get the job done in time if she get it now.

"Hey, I'm gonna get that geode now," Rainbow shouted happily.

"Huh?!" Tailtech asked in concern as he was distracted to listen to Shorty. He found Rainbow charged and sped through the walls. He even noticed the geode's glowed brightly. He yelped in concern, "Rainbow Dash, watch out!"

The Elemental Geode of Metal glowed brightly as it blinded Rainbow's eyes. As soon as the light dispersed, she found herself skidded across the sinning solid yet slippery and wet floor. And at the same time, she even found traps were activated such as walls emerging and slamming, flamethrower, wind storm, water balloon shooting on and even fruit catapult on her. She yelped and screamed in fear as she struggled and barely dodged and evaded the traps as fast as she can, though got hit by fruits and water balloon for couple of times. Tailtech hissed and cringed to see her getting hurt a lot.

After barely escaping the traps, she's close to the Elemental Geode of Metal on the stage. And just before she could reach it, the floor was vibrating wildly, making her nervous and scared. It then catapulted her off back to Tailtech's side. She groaned and moaned painfully.

Tailtech sighed, "And that's why you don't charge in without thinking or even checking first."

Rainbow groaned in pain, "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just give me a break."

Tailtech turned and looked at the chamber, where they slowly disappeared and faded into metallic walls. He hummed thoughtfully and analyzed the situation, "I might have the idea."

Tailtech explained to Rainbow of how she can get pass by the traps, and even get the relic as well. After the moment of discussing and planning, both gave a high five. Tailtech climbed and held on Rainbow's back as she began running straight to the Elemental Geode of Metal.

The geode was glowing brightly as he's expected. They both quickly worn their radioactive goggles to prevent the light blinding them. They then saw the floor is slowly forming shinning solid floor with wet and oil on it. Rainbow then climbed and ran on the walls to dodge the slippery floor. More traps were activated. She jumped and hopped from one wall to another, evading and dodging the traps springing on them. Arriving on the stage, she was about to land on the floor. He quickly took out and fired his Typhoon Blaster on it, damaging the gears and prevented the trap to use against them.

Rainbow has landed on the floor. She then put Tailtech down. He approached and took the grab on the grayish color of Elemental Geode of Metal. It glowed brightly, blinding them both. As soon as the light dispersed, both of them found everything is back to ancient walls. This shocked and surprised them both.

"Wow..." Rainbow said in surprise. She squealed happily, "That is so awesome!"

Tailtech hummed curiously, "I guess that taking the geode turned everything back to normal."

Rainbow laughed happily while raising her fist before the young one, "We'd make a pretty awesome team, TT."

Tailtech nodded as he made fist bump with Rainbow, "We sure did."

"Tailtech? What is the status?" Shorty's voice asked in concern.

Tailtech smiled, "Mission accomplish, Shorty. We've got the geode."

Rainbow cheered out wildly, "We rock the world!"

If Tailtech chose Shadow Dragon...

After choosing Shadow Dragon as his partner, the pair marched and entered the chamber, where they're facing the complete empty chamber. And to their shock and surprise, they found a strange white scrawny manikin was standing still in the middle of the room. Both then looked at each other, with concern and uneasy looks.

"What's the status?" Shorty's voice asked firmly.

"We've found a manikin standing in the middle of chamber," Shadow Dragon reported to his com-link, "And he's just standing there and do nothing."

"Do nothing?" Shorty's voice asked in surprise.

"Yeah. He's doing nothing," Tailtech confirmed, "Please be advise."

Shorty's voice hummed in concern, "I advise you to proceed carefully. Sometimes doing nothing means he's up to something. Whatever it was, do not try to pick a fight with it."

"Shorty, he's just a manikin," Shadow Dragon said confidently, "He can't do anything."

"Trust me on this, Shadow. You do not want to mess with it," Shorty's voice insisted firmly.

Shadow Dragon muttered and mumbled in annoyance about Shorty's concerns about manikin. Tailtech laughed uneasily as he went and followed him from behind. As they were about to pass the manikin by, it then moved and grabbed them both. It swung around and around before throwing them back against the walls. They both groaned and moaned painfully.

"What was that about?" Tailtech asked in concern.

"No idea," Shadow Dragon groaned in pain. He noticed the manikin gestured him to come and fight it. He groaned in annoyance, "But that thing is so gonna get it!"

Shadow Dragon managed to get up as he charged and engaged the manikin in a fierce fight. He tried to swung and slammed his punches at it. It easily dodged and blocked the attacks quickly and swiftly for couple of rounds. As he thrust his punch by face, it dodged down and tripped his leg to fall down hard. It jumped and slammed its knee against his stomach, making him yelled in pain. He then gave it a headbutt before pushed it off. He managed to get up as he engaged a fierce fight with the manikin, who easily and firmly dodged and evaded the attacks while fighting back at him for couple of rounds.

Tailtech was about to help him but noticed something amiss on the manikin. He looked closely on it carefully. He then studied and analyzed it, hoping to find its weakness. Shadow Dragon struggled to fight the manikin, who continued dodging and evading the attacks for couple of rounds. Eventually, it grabbed and blocked the attacks for fives times. It then swung and thrust a punch on him for fives times before kicked him off by swiping kick. He got thrown back to Tailtech, who was studying on him.

Shadow Dragon grunted in pain, "Thanks for the help, pal."

"Sorry. I was trying to find its weak spot. And I got it," Tailtech commented proudly, shocking and surprising Shadow Dragon. He smirked, "Okay, here's how you do."

After Tailtech explained the plans to Shadow Dragon, the latter looked uneasy and worried about it. Nevertheless, he nodded firmly as he agreed with the plans. He approached to the manikin, who was ready to fight. Instead of fighting back, he seated down and formed lotus formation as if he was meditating. It was shocked and surprised to see him not to fight back. It tried to threaten and mocked him to fight back. Instead, he remained silent and meditated quietly and calmly.

Tried to threaten and scared him for a lot of times, the manikin became uneasy and frustrated as it was blow up its fuse. Unexpectedly, it literally exploded into pieces, leaving the geode on the ground. Opening his eyes to find the manikin is destroyed, Shadow Dragon got up from the ground. Tailtech approached to him.

"Did not expect that," Shadow Dragon commented in surprise.

Tailtech smirked as he took the geode from the ground, "The manikin was designed to annoy and fight anyone for its amusement. So, the only way to beat him is do nothing."

"I don't get it."

"Shorty said do not try to fight with it. And he's right. So, we ignore him."

After some thinking of what his friend's meaning, Shadow Dragon chuckled a bit, "That's a good one. Kicker always said that 'The Greatest Victory is the Battle not Fought'."

Tailtech smirked, "He's not wrong about that. We outsmart it." He contacted his friends, "Mission accomplished."

If Tailtech chose Asami and Ciel...

After choosing Asami and Ciel as his partners, three of them marched and entered the chamber, where they're found the chamber is filled with darkness. This shocked and make them uneasy.

"Somehow, this is not gonna be easy as I thought," Asami said in concern.

Tailtech sighed, "It never is. And whatever is inside, it's not gonna be good."

"Shorty, advice?" Ciel asked, "The chamber is dark."

"That can't be good..." Shorty's voice said in concern, "Be on guard. No doubt that there's an ambush in it. If you could somehow turn the tide, you might have the chance to find and get the geode."

"Light the way?" Tailtech asked in concern.

Shorty's voice sighed, "That's affirmative. Asami, Ciel, watch yourself out there."

"Got it," Asami and Ciel replied.

Tailtech sighed calmly, "Here we go..."

Activated and using the flashlights to shine through the darkness; Tailtech, Asami and Ciel began marching and walking. While shinning their flashlights around, they kept their eyes out for any sign of Elemental Geode of Metal or even possible traps. Unfortunately, they couldn't find anything but empty of darkness. This frustrated and annoyed them.

Suddenly, Asami got shot from behind. CIel was about to help her sister but got tripped and fell to the ground. Tailtech got punched by face. Three of them got attacked by unknown enemy troops. They're all struggled to get up and engage the ambush as they can't see and find them. They all stuck and remained close to each other, keeping their eyes out for the ambush, though they got hit and struck hard.

"Dang it! If we don't do something sooner, we'd be dead," Ciel said in concern.

Tailtech groaned, "How on earth can we deal with it when everything is so dark?! I mean three flashlights aren't enough to shine everything!"

"Flashlight! That's it!" Asami exclaimed in realization. She grabbed two flashlights and even Typhoon Blaster from her friends. She mixed and mashed three flashlights and Typhoon Blaster and battery-like protons together. This confused and uncertain her team. She sighed as she readied with her new armored blaster, "I hope this works!"

And just before anyone could ask, Asami blasted the Typhoon Blaster's lights and energy-like ball to the sky, creating and unleashing sparkling and shinning lights within the dark chamber. It even blinded and disintegrated the ambush. The chamber is lighted, and leaving the Elemental Geode of Metal standing and levitating in front of them.

"Wow." Tailtech commented in surprise as he approached and get the geode, "How did-?"

"Light the darkness, duh…" Asami commented playfully.

Ciel laughed happily and relieved, "Glad to have you, sis." She contacted Shorty, "Shorty, we've got it."

Shorty's voice sighed, "Nice work, kids."
