S2E12: King of the Comic Books

Within the Canterlot Mall complex, there was a large crowd have been gathering inside the large room, involving a special event called 'Comic Con Adventure Fandom'. Most of them worn cosplays of their favorite characters from the shows such as Power Ponies, Daring Do, Little Pets and so on. Some even chatted and discussed about their personal opinions and interest on the shows. A few were enjoyed the activities such as watching shows, buying and shopping, playing games and many other activities.

Sunset, Rainbow, Tailtech, Blazefist and Indigo were also part of the audience. Rainbow was wearing her favorite character's cosplay - Daring Do, Sunset was dressing up as Black Spider-Girl and Indigo was wearing a blackish suit with greenish samurai armor and kabuto helmet-like. Tailtech was wearing a scientist suit-like.

"Aw man! I can't believe we're here! This is so awesome!" Rainbow cheered happily.

"Tell me about it!" Indigo agreed happily and wildly. She whistled out loud, "Oh yeah! Mecha Samurai is in the house! This is gonna be fun!"

Sunset turned and looked at Tailtech and Blazefist, "I'm kinda surprised that you two decide to join comic-con. I mean you two aren't exactly-!"

"Oh, Sunset, I am the fan of some comic books," Tailtech said calmly and happily. He showed off his scientist suit, "Why else I worn the 'Doctor Time' in the first place?"

"Doctor Time? Is that even a real show?" Rainbow asked in annoyance.

Sunset hummed thoughtfully, "Apparently so. I did read that show was 1970s. I think."

"Lame..." Indigo remarked dryly, "Science geek show. Boring..."

"What about you?" Sunset asked Blazefist.

"Just hanging around," Blazefist answered firmly yet teasingly, "After all, I'm just here for my kiddo to have some fun at comic con. And who knows? I might come across to something I really like and buy."

"Yeah, right. A commanding officer like you really like some fiction stuffs," Rainbow remarked amusingly and teasingly, annoyed Blazefist. She turned and noticed Sunset was carrying and holding the bag of papers, binder and stationary stuffs. She asked, "Hey, Sunset. What's with stationary stuffs? Delivering them to some kids?"

"Nope. I'm entering the comic book competition," Sunset answered calmly and proudly. She took out a comic book and continued, "Ever since I published it on websites and school, the Hasbro Company themselves invite me to join the competition! Can you believe it? I was invited by the toy company for the competition!"

While reading the comic book, Rainbow gasped in surprise while showing the comic book to her friends, "No way! You based the superheroes on us?! That's so awesome!"

"Yup. I call it 'Super Magical Girls'," Sunset declared proudly. She sighed, "I'm proud of my artwork."

Blazefist was the last one to pick and look at the comic book. He hummed in concern, "Not sure if that's good idea. It's supposed to be low profile."

Sunset scoffed as she rebuffed, "Relax, Blaze. This is just a comic book. They'll probably think it's just for entertainment. And besides, no one would believe that we're the real deal. They would think that I based them on myself and friends for fun to have superpowers."

"She does have the point," Tailtech said thoughtfully, "I mean what are the high chances of anyone finding out?"

Blazefist sighed, "Fine. Just make sure that no one knows about your secrets. Got it?"

Sunset saluted with a wink, "Got it, Commander. Enjoy the Comic Con, sir."

Blazefist groaned a bit as he and Indigo headed off to the Mecha Samurai convention for checking out and buying some action figures, CDs and even posters. Rainbow headed off to find and get the autograph from A.K. Yearling. Tailtech and Sunset were heading off to check out on 'Doctor Time' convention while heading straight to Comic Book Competition.

Sunset and Tailtech have spent for almost one hour and half of checking out and enjoying the 'Doctor Time' Franchise for fun and even learning about the history and education. Eventually, they have went to the Comic Book Competition Center, where almost hundreds have been gathered and crowded. Some have registered to join the competition. Others were there to watch it.

While Tailtech went to take his seat, Sunset went up ahead to sign and register herself for the event. As she was writing down on her registered paper, a familiar person has arrived on the right side of counter to register his.

"Sunset?" The familiar voice asked in surprise, alerting her. Sunset turned to her right, and found Shadow Dragon stood before her. Both of them greeted to each other warmly. He smiled warmly, "I didn't know that you're also in comic book competition."

Sunset giggled a bit, "Well, I would say that I would like to put my skills to the test."

Shadow Dragon laughed amusingly, "Wow. That's interesting. I would like to see you try, Sunset. Believe me. I'm not just martial artist, but I'm also a cool artist. I won't go down easy. Got it?"

Sunset scoffed, "Oh yeah? We'll see about that, pal. And believe me, I'm a better artist than you are."

Shadow Dragon smirked confidently, "I wouldn't bet on it, girl. Game on?"

Sunset smirked as well, "Game on, buddy."

Shadow Dragon and Sunset headed off to begin drawing and designing their own comic. Tailtech was watching the competition from the spectator seats. He was soon joined by Blazefist and Rainbow. And to his surprise, he found Twilight and Spike on his left side.

"I'm guessing you're here to support S.D.?" Tailtech asked amusingly.

Twilight nodded playfully, "You've guessed it. He does loved drawing comics."

"No surprise. Sunset also got interest in the comic as well," Tailtech commented playfully, "I wonder who will win this?"

Twilight giggled amusingly, "You may never know. Time can tell..."

With the referee hit the bell hard, the contestants including Shadow Dragon and Sunset have unleashed their imagination and drawing out of the comic books wildly and determinedly. Most of the boys drew out the superhero, action, fantasy and science-fiction genre comics. Some of the girls did with cute and cuddly animals, and even romantic genre comic books. A few did the opposite interests. Others did differently such as comedy, historical, drama, horror, mystery and so on.

Based on her and her friends as well as her magical adventures; Sunset drew out the origin of how Super Magical Girls meet and befriend, teaming up and working out their difference, and fighting against the humanoid Insect-like Queen, who lead her hive to conquer and control the world to feed out of humanity's emotional for them. Shadow Dragon was drawing out on his favorite superhero called Kuuga the Warrior, involving him struggled to overcome his darkest emotion while facing against his arch-nemesis Death Warlock to defend the citizens from him and his Warlock Warriors at the darkest hour.

During two hours, Shadow Dragon, Sunset and many more contestants were determined to draw and finish their comics, no matter what and how.

After the two-hours comic competition, Sunset and Shadow Dragon regrouped with the rest of their friends. They all have their own lunch and drinks for half-an-hour. And at the same time, they were chatting and having fun. The judges were checking and judging on which comic books are the best to be part of Top 30 Participants.

After their lunch, Sunset and all of her friends returned to Comic Book Competition, where the judges and announcer are making announcement of who is the winner. And so far, 28 out of 125 participants won the competition. Sunset and Shadow Dragon were not among them yet. They're both becoming nervous and excited to get their own award.

"And the second place goes to..." Announcer announced in suspense, making everyone nervous yet excited. He smiled and declared, "Sunset Shimmer and Shadow Dragon for both 'Super Magical Girls Origin' and 'Kuuga's Darkest Hour' for the best action sequence!"

Everyone gasped in surprise and shock. Sunset and Shadow Dragon were both surprised yet amazed and disbelief of what they heard. As the crowd went wild, they both approached and climbed on the stage, where they both received their medals. Though the announcer provide one medal, Shadow Dragon solved it by cutting in halves for him and Sunset to share. The crowd has once again cheered wildly and happily.

"Not what I'm expecting but awesome," Sunset commented.

Shadow Dragon nodded, "Yeah. But it's an honor to draw the comic besides you."

Sunset smiled, "The honor is mine, S.D."

"And now, the winner of this year's comic book competition goes to..." Announcer announced in suspense tone firmly while looking at the letter. He smiled, "Indigo Zap for her Mecha Samurai's Cyber Adventures for the best story line of her origin to become the superhero! She is now crowned as the King or Queen of the Comics!"

Sunset and most of her friends were in shock and surprised by the announcement while Blazefist and the crowd went wild again. Indigo climbed on the stage, where she received the award. She made her victory pose and cheered out wildly before the crowd.

"I didn't know she join the competition," Rainbow said in surprise.

Blazefist smirked, "You'd never ask." He cheered out loud, "Way to go, Indigo!"

Indigo cheered wildly and happily before the crowd. Sunset and Shadow Dragon looked at each other for the moment before they laughed out happily and amusingly.
