S3E10: Friendship Math (Mystic Version)

While Fluttershy and her team were finding the baby sea turtles, Twilight was relaxing on her beach chair while reading mathematic book. Shadow Dragonw as training both Spike and Dragoking, making sure they’re in best shape. Applejack was eating apple as she has just arrived to meet up with others.

“Can’t wait to try out with substitute lifeguard work. It’s gonna be fun,” Applejack commented happily. She then spotted the magazine on the beach chair. She picked it up while giggled a bit, “Should have known that Rarity left her Canterlot Beat magazine here! I wonder where she’s off to.”

Twilight shrugged a bit, “She said about trying to find some more accessory for her new looks.” She sighed, “I’d swear if she keeps on doing that, sooner she’s gonna lose them and get into unnecessary troubles.”

“True enough,” Applejack agreed with a giggle. She took the seat on beach chair while reading the magazine. She hummed amusingly, “Well, well, what do you know? It even has a pop quiz!”

“A quiz? On what? But I haven't studied!”

“Relax, Twilight. This pop quiz is not related to our school studies. No need for you to get wrapped for nothing as always!”

“Hey!” Twilight grumbled, feeling offended.

Applejack giggled a bit, “Anyhow. The pop quiz is about our friendship. ‘Score your friendship levels: Are you BFFs for life?’ Think we can score for this?”

Twilight smiled confidently, “Isn’t it obvious? I’m in! Bring it!”

“Alright. Question 1: What’s your best friend's favorite food?” Applejack quoted out from the magazine.

Twilight and Applejack gave some thoughts carefully of remembering their own friends’ favorite food.

“Salad?” Applejack answered while Twilight spoke, “Apples?”

“Actually, mixing fruit juice and salad are kinda my favorite food. Apple is second favorite food,” Applejack answered calmly, “Yours is salad, right?”

Twilight shook her head, “That was my third favorite. But my real favorite is Cheeseburger and Fries.”

“Really, Cheeseburger? Never thought you would enjoy eating fast food,” Applejack commented with a joke. She cleared her throat while reading the magazine, “Next question: ‘Favorite part of school.’ It's... hmmm...”

Twilight and Applejack thought carefully again about what their friends’ favorite school. They smiled proudly as they know the answer.

“Sports/Library?” Twilight and Applejack answered in unison.

“Not really in sports, but I enjoyed woodshop,” Applejack commented happily, “I do need to repairs for my home. What about Library? Did I get it right?”

Twilight shook her head in disagreement, “Going to library is second. Using computer for both research and work is the best part.”

“Okay. Guess it’s still zero-zero. Looks like we’re even,” Applejack joked, “Last question: ‘What is your friend's biggest fear?’”

Twilight and Applejack gave some thoughts before answered in unison, “Um… Apple Farm being stolen/Failing the exam?”

Twilight shook her head in disagreement, “I’m more scared about me being taken over by evil spirit.”

“Well. Apple Farm being taken away is the second worst thing to think about. What I’m scared the most is that I get seasick.” Applejack answered uneasily.

“Seasick? Really?” Twilight asked in disbelief.

“Yeah. Last time, I went by boat with my stomach full, I almost throw up at Big Mac. Boy, he was very angry with me for that.” Applejack said in uneasy tone with a giggle. She cleared her throat, “Looks like we flunked.”

“FLUNKED?!” Twilight asked in disbelief as she snatched the magazine from her best friend. She looked through it, “Are there no more questions?!”

“Twilight, calm down. It’s just the quiz. There’s no need for you to get worked up,” Applejack said calmly.

“Don’t tell me how not to get worked up?!” Twilight snapped in annoyance and frustration while looking through the magazine.

Finishing playing with the pets, Shadow Dragon returned to his friend’s side. He then asked, “Hey, guys? What’s Twilight doing?”

Applejack sighed in annoyance, “She’s going crazy with pop quiz again.”

“Ah ha! Found it! ‘Are you both the Perfect Couples Level’?” Twilight exclaimed happily upon her finding. She smiled at her boyfriend, “Are you ready?”

Shadow Dragon sighed, “Twilight, I don’t think-!”

Twilight interrupted, “Question 1: What is your lover’s favorite hobby?” She squealed happily, “This is so easy! Martial Arts!”

“Nope. Mine is Arts. Martial Art is my second favorite.” Shadow Dragon disagreed, shocking Twilight. He cleared his throat, “My guess about you is mostly reading and studies.”

Twilight shook her head in disagreement, “Nope. That’s my second favorite. Mine is going around the around and learning!” Shadow Dragon was in shock and disbelief. She cleared her throat while reading the magazine, “Still zeroes. No worries. Second question – what’s your favorite music.”

Twilight and Shadow Dragon hummed thoughtfully, “Pop Song/Classics?”

“Not quite. Mine is something about Hip Hop and Pop Style. Pinkie shown me that kind of music. I kinda like it,” Twilight said happily, “And you?”

“Rock and Roll,” Shadow Dragon answered.

“Still zero…” Twilight said in disappointment. She sighed, “One last question – what’s your lover’s favorite scenery?”

“Is it…” Twilight and Shadow Dragon answered in unison, “Dojo/Science Lab?”

“Dojo? Really?” Shadow Dragon asked in annoyance, making Twilight giggled uneasily. He sighed, “Mine is Spring’s Cheery/Peach Blossoming Trees. They’re the best and beautiful things I ever seen. Yours?”

“As much as I loved science, I’d prefer snowy field,” Twilight answered teasingly, surprising Shadow Dragon and Applejack. She looked at the magazine. She shown her disbelief and shocked looks, “This can’t be it! This can’t be!”

Shadow Dragon groaned while shaking his head, “Twilight, would you just calm down? It’s just a silly quiz.”

Applejack nodded, “Yeah. Just because we failed the pop quiz, doesn’t mean that we’re not friends and couples. We still are.”

Twilight hummed thoughtfully, “You both are right! It's deeply unscientific. I'll do my own calculations to empirically prove my relationship with you two are still together…” She then gave her determined and scary looks, “foreveeeerrrrrrrr...”

Seeing her scary looks made both Shadow Dragon and Applejack nervous and scared while looking at each other, “Here we go again…”

“You guys just have to do that, don’t ya?” Spike asked in annoyance.

Dragoking shrugged, “Could be worse…”

Twilight has spent hours of researching and studying on books of mathematic, physics, chemistry and science; trying to prove that her relationship with Shadow Dragon and Applejack are together forever.

And of course, they helped her out as well Applejack provided apple juice for her and Shadow Dragon to drink. Whenever she has a headache, Shadow Dragon assisted her by massaging her head and shoulder, making her more relaxed. Spike and Dragoking nuzzled and comfort her warmly and calmly. Taking the break, they have play volley ball together with Dragoking and Spike. Despite their help, Twilight also helped them out by buying lunch for them to eat.

After hours of studying and calculating her ‘relationship’, Twilight wrote everything down on the sand of the calculation, equation and symbols. She studied the equation carefully to conclude her answer.

“I’ve got it!” Twilight exclaimed happily.

Just before she could explain, the waves washed in and wiped out most of the equation. This shocked and alerted the rest of her friends.

“Twilight, your relationship equation!” Applejack exclaimed in concern.

“That's all right. Our relationship is unquantifiable!” Twilight answered happily.

Everyone looked confuse and uncertain of Twilight’s answers. Spike spoke, “Uh, Twilight, not everyone understands your mathematic answer?”

Twilight giggled before gave both Applejack and Shadow Dragon warm and comfort hug. She smiled, “It just means it can't be measured.”

“Oh!” Applejack said in understanding before laughed a bit. She then hugged Twilight back, “I coulda told you that!”

Shadow Dragon nodded while hugging his girlfriend back, “Tried not to think too hard, okay?”

“No problem,” Twilight answered playfully with a wink.

“Think she can do that?” Dragoking asked in annoyance.

Spike shrugged, “Probably not.”
