Dignity (IV)

After shockingly discovered of what Vignette has done to their three friends, Saber and Applejack called both Shorty and Terrorcreep about their discovery. They including Tailtech meet up with them at the security room, where they all witnessed video footage. They especially Terrorcreep were furious and angry about it.

"That witch…" Terrorcreep snarled while clenched his fists, "I'll tear her apart for what she has done!"

"Terrorcreep, wait!" Applejack called.

It was too late. Terrorcreep has already exited out of the security room's door. Everyone sighed in frustration about him getting so reckless.

"Hate it when he does that," Tailtech grumbled.

Saber sighed, "You know what they say – people go crazy when they're in love."

"Either way, we have the proof now. There is no way Vignette can get away from this," Shorty said firmly. He pressed computer's keyboard, accessing and downloading the video into his thumb-drive. He narrowed his angry eyes, "I have her now."

"Okay." Applejack said in concern. She whispered to Saber, "Think he might be a little… mad over what Vignette did to him?"

Saber hummed in concern, "That's what worries me…"

At the Production House, the designers and assistants were doing their best to finish up with the float parades. And at the same time, Rarity was inspecting and checking on their progress with the work as she wants to make sure that the float parades are ready. Vignette was following Rarity as she was checking on her progress.

And at the same time, the rest of Mane Eight and Dragon Strike Force were gathered at the rock'n'roll parade, preparing and setting up with the instruments. However, Blazefist and Laxtinct weren't with them as they were looking out for Indigo Zap, who is still dating with Thunderlane.

Rarity called out while signing off on the assistant's paperclip, "One hour until wheels up, everyone! The light parade waits for no one! Tick-tock! Tick-tock!"

Vignette laughed a bit with a sly smirk, "Big night tonight, Rare. Perhaps the biggest of all time. Definitely the biggest of your life. I'm excited for you."

"You're not worried?" Rarity asked in surprise before ranted in concern, "Not that I'm worried. Unless you're worried, in which case, I'm very, very worried!"

Vignette reassured Rarity, "There's no room for self-doubt. You've gotta get rid of it faster than a pleated cargo skort." Her remarks made Rarity and even herself shuddered a bit. She turned and approached to the dress mannequin, which has light red dress with ribbon and diamond pattens on bottom part. She remarked calmly, "So I love everything you've done here. One thought – do we want the costumes to have lights on them? You've got time. I think we should start from scratch."

"Huh?" Rarity asked in concern.

Vignette approached her as she remarked calmly, "B-T-Dubs, every amazing fashion vlogger and Snapgab celeb's gonna be here tonight! No presh."

Vignette turned and headed off to her office while leaving Rarity alone.

Looking uneasy and tensed by the situation, Rarity ranted in fear, "Really? 'Cause I'm feeling presh." She then found assistants were working on the dragon float. She demanded, "Why am I seeing neon pink and yellow on that dragon's tail?! Is this a beast of legend or a safety vest?!"

After capturing Rainbow and Aqua, the scientists and technicians were now making the surgery on them to become the machine like Fluttershy in their secret lab. Both of them groaned and moaned in pain as they felt the machine parts are placing on them. Mr. Cobblepot returned to his own office, where he was making the contact with Machine Dragoon on the monitor screen.

"How long do I need to wait, Cobblepot?" Machien Dragoon demanded impatiently.

Nervous and worried, Cobbeplebot answered, "Soon, Master Machine Dragoon. Soon. Once Vignette zapped all those troublemakers, then we will finish the surgery for good. We will soon commence the conquest on this bloody state and then retake our homeland."

Machine Dragon growled softly yet suspicious, "This better be good. I will and cannot allow that treacherous mutant get away with this. I will retake my land and finish what Dark Curse has started…"

Back at the Production House, just as she finished her inspection on float parade, Rarity met up with the rest of her friends. The designers were measuring on Sunset, Twilight and Pinkie's bodies for the designs and making the costumes for them to use. Shadow Dragon and Flash were discussing about new martial art skills to perform. Icy was happily brushing and combing Flare Tiger's hair.

Happy to see her friends have made it in time, Rarity was annoyed and upset as she was looking at Applejack's bass.

Rarity sighed, "I suppose Applejack and Shorty have better things to do than final fittings and sound check!"

"Don't be mad at them." Sunset said firmly and seriously, "They're still out trying to find Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, who aren't here either, by the way. And also, Saber and Tailtech are with them too. And don't get me started with Commander Blazefist and Laxtinct spying on their sister's dating."

Flash shuddered in disgust, "Creepy…"

Rarity snapped in frustration, "Do not tell me who to be annoyed with!"

Everyone was concern for Rarity's tension and pressured for handling the float parade. They never realized how stress she really is.

Pinkie approached and comforted Rarity, "I know you're stressed, Rarity, but I'm sure you've got something totally amazing up your sleeve! You did remember to wear sleeves with amazing things up them, right?"

"STOP!" Applejack's voice called out loud.

The designers and workers stopped at once. They all turned and looked at Shorty, Saber, Applejack and Tailtech have just entered the production house. They all found everyone was looking at him.

"Oh! Uh, not everybody stop. I just meant our friends." Applejack explained nervously yet awkwardly. The designers and workers looked at each other as they shrugged before resumed their works. She continued, "Y'all keep doin' what you're doin'. Sewin' up them, uh, clothes."

Just as Shorty and his friends approached to Rarity, she then demanded, "Where have you all been?!"

"For a good explanation," Applejack said seriously yet concerned. She sighed in concern, "I don't know how to say this but-!"

"Nobody go anywhere with Vignette, understand?" Shorty said seriously and firmly, confusing his friends.

"Is there any reason why we don't?" Icy asked in confusion

Shorty explained firmly, "Because she knows what happened to Fluttershy, Rainbow, Aqua and even Terrorcreep."

Inside the office, Vignette overheard of Rarity and her friends' conversation. She became worried and scared that some of them have somehow figured out of what she has done. She has to think a way to dispose the evidence. She then spotted a phone charging on the desk. She smiled slyly and amusingly. Just before she could approach it but stopped when a Thunder Dual Axe, emerged out from the shadow, aiming at her neck.

"Trying to hide the evidence, huh?" Terrorcreep's voice asked darkly as he emerged out from the shadowy corner. He glared at her, "You either becoming desperate or stupid to think that you can get away from this…"

Vignette groaned, "How did anyone figure out what I've been doing?"

"Because you're predictable and stupid. Pop quiz, Valencia," Terrorcreep said dryly, "What happens to a phony if she doesn't return my girlfriend and others back."

Vignette looked scared and terrified as she was backed to the window's wall. She gulped, "She lose her face?"

Terrorcreep narrowed his angry eyes as he delcared, "She lose her head! Bring Fluttershy back now!"

Terrorcreep screamed in anger as he swung and struck his axe at Vignette. She screamed before barely evaded his attack when she tripped and fell to the ground hard. Just before he could do anything, she quickly used her phone to 'zap' on him. He disappeared at once.

Vignette panted heavily, "I really need to be careful."

Vignette quickly approached to the office desk, where she took the phone out from the charging wire while kept her own phone in her pocket. Now she has to make Rarity and her friends believed that Shorty and his team's evidence is fabricated.

Impatiently and more concern with her job, Rarity said firmly and seriously, "You can explain yourself after the parade. I'm sure-!"

Shorty interrupted, "You're not listening, Rarity! Vignette is evil!"

As in cued, Vignette just exited out from her office, alerting and scared Rarity to look behind. The designer became tensed and worried, feared that she's gonna get fired for her boyfriend's ranting and insulting her boss. Almost everyone looked worry as well. Saber and Tailtech groaned in disbelief about Shorty blurted out in anger and frustration due to his past work with her.

Applejack facepalmed as she remarked, "We told him to show them the video first before blurting out."

Saber shook his head in concern, "No kidding. Normally, you would do that because you were too honest."

Applejack gave him the glare as she commented dryly, "I could either agree with you or punch you for saying that to me."

"Shorty, maybe we should get them somewhere else to talk and show the video to them," Tailtech suggested in concern, "The last thing you want is-!"

"No, Tailtech," Shorty said firmly while glaring at Vignette. He continued, "It's time that she comes in clean and admit for what she has done to our friends and me. She's not gonna get away with this now."

"Would someone tell us what's going on?" Shadow Dragon demanded firmly, "What is this about?"

Shorty narrowed his angry eyes as he explained, "Vignette has done to Fluttershy. And not only her, but also to Rainbow, Aqua and even Terrorcreep. This is no doubt that you have the Equestrian Magic in your phone."

Vignette laughed amusingly, "Oh, honey, delusional isn't your color. You're an autumn. And also, we only just met."

Refused to let Vignette's lies, Tailtech stood beside with Shorty as he shown his laptop, "If you're so innocent, then how do you explain this?!"

Vignette was a bit of nervous and worried but remained calm as much as possible. Just as he turned on his laptop, he placed the thumb-drive and access the security footage of what happened to Fluttershy, Rainbow and Aqua. Everyone especially Rarity was in shock and disbelief of what they're watching. They all couldn't believe it.

"No way…" Icy remarked in concern. She looked at Vignette, "Did you really do it?"

Vignette approached and looked at the video carefully before smiled uneasily, "Nope. This looks fake. That doesn't look like me."

Noticing her smile making weird movement, Applejack spoke firmly, "Vignette, the truth, please."

"She lied?" Rarity asked in shock and disbelief.

"Yeah, she did," Applejack confirmed, making Vignette nervous and worried. She continued, "Vignette, don't make things difficult and tell everyone the truth. Just bring Fluttershy and others back now."

Saber nodded firmly, "You can't swindle your way out of this."

Still nervous and uneasy, Vignette remained calm while holding her cellphone as she pretended to look at her fan messages, "I still have no idea what you're talking about."

"Still playing innocent, huh?" Shorty asked angrily. He then quickly snatched her phone as he declared, "Time to show the world who you really are, fraud!"

Thinking of why Vignette casually holding her phone despite she knew that would expose herself for the action she has made, Saber realized of her true motive.

Saber gasped in concern, "Shorty, don't!"

Ignored his warning, Shorty declared while aiming the phone at mannequin, "Say goodbye to your mannequin!"

Just as he pushed the button, the phone just snapped the picture of it. Everyone but Saber was confused by the situation. Shorty looked at the phone in disbelief and shock. He grumbled and ranted angrily as he tried to use the phone, trying to prove that Vignette has Equestrian Magic on it to make his friends disappeared.

Vignette smiled calmly yet teasingly that she got away with it while Rarity was annoyed and embarrassed by her boyfriend's rant and action.

"I don't get it." Applejack said in confusion and worried, "We saw the footage. It's real."

Saber sighed in frustration, "That phone is a fake. She's hiding the real on somewhere else. Good thing that you didn't do it and screw up badly."

Applejack groaned while crossed her arms, "I can't help that you really enjoy making fun of me because I'm a farmer while you're a detective."

"Just want to make sure you be smart and stayed out of troubles," Saber answered calmly and firmly. He sighed while looking at Shorty, "Damn it, Shorty. That is so not him to lose his cool over issues with her."

Applejack nodded, "Yeah. She really hates her a lot."

"You have no idea," Tailtech admitted in concern.

"Damn it!" Shorty snapped in frustration. He turned and glared at Vignette, "You tricked me! Where are they?! What did you do to them?!"

Vignette groaned, "You're so overdramatic. I just saw your friends. They're in wardrobe, and they're fine."

"Are you sure?" Rarity asked in concern.

Vignette approached to Rarity as she remarked calmly, "And looking good in your costumes, by the way." Rarity blushed and flustered by Vignette's remarks. She turned and looked at Applejack, "I'm disappointed in you, Applejack. I thought we're friends."

Shocked and angered by Vignette's deception, Applejack answered dryly, "Were, Vignette. I know who you really are. And I can tell that you never liked having me here because I'm a farmer. Am I right?"

Vignette scoffed, "No, I didn't, at first. But I warm up to you for days. I really like you, AJ."

Applejack gave a firm glare, "So did I…"

"Guys, enough with this ridiculous fight," Rarity interrupted. She turned and looked at Applejack, "Applejack, the parade is less than an hour away, and-!"

"Rarity!" Shorty shouted in frustration, shocking Rarity to turn and look at him. He glared at her, "Is your stupid parade important to you?!"

Rarity was annoyed as she snapped back, "Of course, it is! This is my life work! My moment! I am not gonna lose this chance!"

Disbelieved by Rarity's answer, Applejack spoke up, "I know you didn't just say that about your missing friends."

Saber nodded firmly, "She's right. Our friends are missing. And you rather focus on your career than just helping them. How could you say that?!"

"Vignette said they're alright. What is wrong with you all?!" Rarity asked angrily and frustratingly.

Realizing that she can't stay there for long before she gets expose, Vignette cleared her throat as she remarked, "I'm gonna let you guys sort this out amongst yourselves."

Just as Vignette snapped her fingers before waving her hand at them, the designers and workers quickly returned to their job before they get into trouble. And at the same time, she watched Rarity and her friends have the big argument.

"Applejack, admit it! You don't care about my parade!" Rarity said angrily.

"What?! No! That's not true!" Applejack protested, "But our friends are more important than parade! We have to find them now."

"Nothing is more important than parade." Rarity disagreed firmly, "Why do you keep insisting that they've gone missing. Vignette said-!"

Saber interrupted firmly, "Vignette's lying. Did you really think we make everything up like this?"

"Yeah. The video is legit," Tailtech insisted while checking on his computer. He did the thoroughly scan on the footage. The screen shown 'clear'. He continued, "And for the record, my computer can tell the difference between real and CGI. And this is the real deal."

Rarity sighed in frustration, "I don't care if this is the real or fake. But what I need to do now is finish up my parade."

Applejack was in disbelief as she asked, "Rarity, weren't you listening? Vignette's done somethin' to our friends!"

Shorty nodded, "Don't you care about our friends?!"

"Is this about our friends or about you and Vignette?" Rarity questioned, shocking yet angering Shorty. She continued, "Ever since she gave me this opportunity, you've been upset, angry and jealous because she sees my potential but you don't."

Shorty was in disbelief as he questioned, "What are you talking about?"

"Did you honestly think I'm stupid?"

"Well, I'm hoping that you're not. You're smarter than this. You're better than this. And now, you're falling for a fraud, who's been lying and tricking people, employees and customers to think that she's the role model they want to look up."

"She is the role model I looked up to! She helped me get the job! How could you not see that and thinking the worst about her?!"

"Because she is the worst person to deal with! And she's not even your friend! How could you even blind about this?!"

"Am I or you?" Rarity questioned angrily.

Angered and furious, Shorty demanded, "Want to say that again?! I dare you!"

Shorty almost want to attack Rarity but Saber and Tailtech held and pushed him back. The detective exclaimed, "Shorty, calm down! Don't do this!"

"What has gotten into you?" Shadow Dragon asked in concern.

"Rarity didn't mean it. You know she would never say that," Applejack assured Shorty. She turned and looked at her, "Rarity, tell him that you didn't mean it."

"I meant it, Applejack." Rarity answered dryly, shocking everyone. She continued with her narrowed angry eyes at Shorty, "Why are you so against Vignette? What has she ever done to you?"

"You really want to know? Fine, I'll talk!" Shorty snapped angrily. He turned and glared at Vignette as he exclaimed, "Vignette ruined my career and credits. I'm the one, who helped her out with filmmaking, model and even posting Snapgrab pictures. If not for me, she wouldn't become famous. And the worse is that she stole and sold my mentor's Equestria Land to Cobblepot."

Everyone but Saber, Tailtech and Applejack gasped in shock and concern. Vignette remained calm while looking at her phone.

"That's ridiculous. I don't even know you at all," Vignette rebuffed, "Though you reminded me of some crazy and stupid kid for doing his way than my own style. After all, I did come up with idea."

Shorty groaned in anger and frustration. He was about to argue but Rarity spoke, "Shorty, just stop! Stop for sprouting lies and blaming on someone else. The only reason why your career is ruined is because you're not smart and good as her. And the worst about you is you're not happy or even support for me about this. You're a horrible boyfriend!"

Angered by her insult, Shorty gave Rarity a big slap on left cheek, causing her to fall to the ground. She has the slap mark on her cheek. Everyone gasped in shock and disbelief of what they just saw. Vignette was in shock also as she didn't expect him to go that far.

"Okay. This shouldn't be in the script…" Pinkie remarked sadly and hurt, "I-It's too much…"

"Shorty!" Applejack scolded Shorty.

"She asked for it," Shorty exclaimed in anger. Rarity was hurt while looking at him. He continued, "The only reason she hired and flattered you is that you helped her get more attentions for herself! She never cared how good, creative and fashionable you are! And she doesn't care about helping the world, donation, charity or even appreciating how hard work and creative her workers have done for her or anything! Once she got what she wanted, she will throw you like a garbage! And believe me when I said this to your damn thick skull – everything she said about you or anyone is not true! YOU'RE NOT SPECIAL! YOU'RE A NOBODY! YOU'RE A TOOL TO HER! YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LOVED YOU!"

Everyone gasped in shock and disbelief of how Shorty talked to Rarity. The fashionista was completely hurt by his word. How could he say that to her?

"Damn it, Shorty…" Saber said in shock and disbelief.

Applejack implored in concern, "Shorty… Y-You don't mean it-!"

"I meant it, Applejack. Every word of it," Shorty said bluntly and coldly. He turned and glared at Rarity, "Consider our relationship ends today. Enjoy your new friendship with the bitch."

Rarity was too shock and hurt to say anything. Shorty bluntly and angrily walking and passing by her, without looking at her. He walked straight out of the door. As he opened it, he closed the door by slamming very hard.

Applejack wanted to help and comfort her best friend, but halted by Saber, who shook his head firmly and seriously.

Applejack insisted, "B-But she needs-!"

Saber interrupted and whispered to her calmly, "Don't make things worse for Rarity now. Others will help her, not us. Shorty need us now."

Tailtech nodded, "Yeah. He's making his mistakes."

Though wanting to help Rarity badly, Applejack felt that Saber and Tailtech were right. She might not be the right person to comfort her now. She nodded reluctantly. Both her friends headed off and chased after Shorty. Just as Applejack was about to go, she stopped and looked at Rarity, who was still on the ground while looking down.

Unable to face her best friend, Applejack lowered down her hat to half of her face while whispered in guilt and reluctant, "I'm really sorry, Rarity. For all this…"

Applejack quickly headed off and went after her friends, hoping to talk some sense into Shorty for what he has done. Completely hurt of what has happened to them, Rarity sobbed in tears before getting up and heading off to the office at once.

Twilight called in concern, "Applejack, wait!"

And at the same time, Sunset called her friend, "Rarity, come back!"

Just as Sunset and the rest of her friends jumped off from the float parade, they were halted and stopped by Vignette.

"Outta way, Vignette!" Shadow Dragon snapped.

Flash nodded firmly, "Yeah, our friends need us now!"

Vignette smiled calmly, "Waiting is for waiters, ladies. We're better off without them."

"We?" Twilight asked suspiciously.

"The Throwbacks, formerly known as the Rainbooms." Vignette explained.

Everyone became suspicious and annoyed by Vignette's claim, Sunset demanded, "Hang on. Why does 'we' include you?"

"Why do you mean 'formerly'?" Flash asked suspiciously and firmly, "You can't just simply change their bands for your liking. The band has been officially formed since the Battle of the Band."

"Yes, I can," Vignette said arrogantly yet casually, "Obviously, somebody needs to fill Applejack's spot. And since it's so last-minute, we are lucky to have someone with as much vision and talent as moi."

Flare Tiger hummed suspiciously, "I do not like that tone of yours."

"Fill Applejack's spot?" Shadow Dragon asked suspiciously yet angry, "You can't be serious."

"And also, what makes you think that we want the replacement," Icy questioned.

"And not just that! We'll be playing a song I wrote!" Vignette said calmly.

"A song you wrote?" Pinkie asked in confusion yet suspiciously, "I don't remember you ever sing a song or even write one. Not to mention, I don't think we actually invite you to join our band?"

Sunset hummed suspiciously while thinking of what Applejack's team has said earlier, "You're right, Pinkie." She glared at Vignette, "One – you are not in the band! And two – we are not replacing Applejack for performance."

"And you know what else?" Twilight added dryly and suspiciously, "Applejack never lied or even make things up, like, ever. I know her well."

Shadow Dragon narrowed his suspicious eyes, "And don't forget, Saber is a good detective and Tailtech is good with tech too. They never make mistakes."

"I wonder if Shorty's issues with Vignette is true," Flare Tiger added in concern yet suspicious.

Thinking carefully of the security footage and even Vignette's recent behavior, Sunset asked firmly and seriously, "So all that stuff she said about you…"

Vignette shrugged casually while readying with her phone, "Eh. Is true."

Just before Vignette could snap the picture of them, Icy threw her icy shard on it, throwing to the ground. She yelped in concern before looking at the angry teenagers as they prepared to punch her on face.

"Big mistake, Vignette," Flash said seriously and firmly.

Sunset nodded, "You're gonna be sorry for the lies and breaking Rarity's heart."

"We're giving you a last chance," Shadow Dragon said firmly and seriously, "So you either return our friends back or else, we give you something unpleasant."

"Shadow Dragon, no. We will not kill her. She hasn't committed mass murder or kidnapping," Twilight scolded Shadow Dragon. Everyone looked at her with annoyed looks. She remembered what Vignette has done. She sighed, "Of course, she did kidnap our friends. But no killing."

"Well?" Flare Tiger asked dryly, "I'd take his offer if I were you. My cousin isn't nice guy to play with."

"Okay. I'll do it," Vignette agreed reluctantly. As everyone remained on guard and keeping their eyes on her, she got up slowly before dusting her clothes. She quickly picked her 'real' magical phone, aiming and taking picture on them, "Psyche!"

Just before anyone could do anything, Vignette snapped the picture of Sunset and her friends before they magically digitalized and disappeared, with Pinkie shouting of 'Not this again!'

Vignette sighed in relief that she got the Rainboom and their friends into the phone. She then looked at her magical phone, "Now let's see if this Equestrian magique is all it's cracked up to be."

Looking at the picture profile of five Rainboom Members, Vignette looked through the dressing wardrobe and accessory selection boxes before customizing and putting them on these members. She smiled warmly and happily about the phone's app as she finds it to be useful tool for her work.

After she completed her choosing, she summoned and placed the holographic forms of five Rainboom members on the floating parade. Sunset worn ridiculous blue princess-like gown with tiara playing her guitar. Pinkie, in her formal suit, smiled weirdly and readied to play the drum. A gothic and gangster version of Fluttershy was playing a guitar. A weirdly happy girl Rainbow also played her blue guitar. Twilight is now wearing the sportswear to sing happily.

"That's better." Vignette remarked happily. She then looked at her phone as she sighed, "I wish I'd had this thing years ago! Think how perfect my life could've looked!"

After crying over the fight with Shorty, Rarity emerged out from the office's door. Just before she could do or say anything, Vignette squealed happily as she grabbed and held Rarity close to her.

"Rare, you're not gonna believe this!" Vignette exclaimed happily.

Looking at the holographic form of five Rainboom Members, Rarity was confused and concern as she asked, "What? What is this? What am I looking at?"

"Your friends, but better!" Vignette explained happily, "Now we can make the parade exactly how I want it!"

"How you want it?" Rarity asked in disbelief and confusion, "You said you hired me for my vision!"

Vignette scoffed, "Well, I needed your vision to bring out my vision. But now there's an app for that."

Rarity turned and looked at the holographic forms of her friends. Just as she waved it, the hologram caused some fizzling. This alerted and scared her to turn and looked at her. She realized that her friends were there, so as the Dragon Strike Force.

"Vignette, wh-what is going on here? Where are my friends?!" Rarity demanded.

Without the care and concern, Vignette answered casually, "Like, trapped in the internet as zeroes and ones or erased from existence or something?" She shrugged casually with intonation of 'I dunno' sound, "Mmmm."

"What?!"

"See, like, my phone became magique or something, and now it has this power where whenever I take a picture of something and it disappears. And then I can customize them with a swipe of my finger and make them real again, or... real enough, but hey, blah-blah-blah, O.M.G., I'm boring myself to death just talking about this stuff."

Rarity could not believe what she has heard. She also realized that Shorty, Applejack, Saber and Tailtech were actually right about her and what she has done to the rest of her friends and even missing ones. She has truly a fool of herself for choosing Vignette over her boyfriend and friends. She is not only shocked and disbelief but furious of her manager's deception.

"Bring back my friends this instant!" Rarity demanded firmly and seriously.

Annoyed and disappointed by Rarity's tone, Vignette sighed while setting up with her magical phone's camera, "Fine. If you wanna be with them so bad, I'll do you one last favor. You're welcome."
