I advertised this story on a couple of sites, and most responses I got were people calling the story a self-insert 'masturbate fic' that had no importance if the character was unnamed.
So I gave him the name of an old OC of mine. It was the original intention anyway before I went with the 'no name' route.
Hell, that's a recipe I'd take any day.
Definitely got some more Interstellar vibes, especially when Matthew McConaughey was screaming for his daughter.

I'm doing an epilogue chapter, but I'm going to dial back on doing stories based off this one. Writing stuff like this with such little payoff is really discouraging. I'm glad some people like it, but the payoff actually nearly put me off of writing for a while.
Well, regardless of mass opinion I rather liked this story and its unique premise and execution. The ending was plenty soul warming too, a proper lesson of dealing with loss (regardless of scale) and what the past should mean to someone. Well done!
Finally it's done!
I'm gonna tear into this and finish it by Thursday!
