Oof.
Yes! Reveng to the dungeon with her ha ha!
Wow a good high note there.
In the wise words of the Nanner man, "Well shit."
Well at least he's not letting his relationship with Luna blind him to his morals. That's really nice to see.
Lunas going all dark and swirly again.
And heres me hoping that there wouldnt have been any drama so that John could consider Project Cream Puff. Or, just how much armament Snowflake can carry and still be operational.
Trouble in paradise
I have to admit... I'm torn. On one side I really can understand John, torture should never be done to solve problems. Such behaviour just proves others how cold-blooded you are and I wouldn't accept or like it as well when I knew that someone I know tortured someone else.
I mean she could have bribed Spitfire as an alternative.
Still... Luna is right that a ruler's life isn't always a pleasant one. As the head of a nation you have to do what's best for your own people, what's best to maintain peace and order. Every of your actions has to be on point or your people may suffer the consequences. She is right with her point that she couldn't let Spitfire escape with such a bold, or more arrogant, move like that. Luna and her sister are seen as perfect figureheads by many, if the rumor came up that John is her boy toy it would end with a disaster. Or worse, that John has Luna somehow in his hand, the press' imagination can be very adventurous sometimes.
Ponies would accuse Luna (and maybe Celestia in extension) of being gullible, that they are not fit to rule any longer. Political enemies would have a field day with that. Especially the bad- and dangerous kind of enemy. If rumours reached other nations it would harm the image of the country immensely.
I really don't like what Luna did, but I have to admit that what she did may have been necessary in this case. Not justified by any means, but necessary. The consequences would have been much to numerous, combined with a potential impact of unknown force.
I think John makes it to easy for himself. It's always a piece of cake to point with a finger at others if they did something "morally wrong" and complain how wrong their actions were, because from the distance you have the luxus of sitting back and playing the moralizer. But he's "only" a soldier with a higher rank, not a nation's ruler himself. He has no clue how dangerous this could have been for them, but Luna does.
The most lethal battlefield with the most casualties, but the lest bloodshed, was, is and will most likely always be the field of politics. Where words, rumors, opinions and thoughts can cause more damage than a thousand swords.
I think this pic will relate in a few more chapters~

When I looked upon your face, a glimmer did I see;
Of sadistic pleasure, I would decree;
My love for you, cannot be;
until the day, I set you free;
From This, Your Nightmare...
Oh.....shit
More must have more!
Luna is inhabiting that gray area to the fullest.

Hehe hey don't worry about it. To me it doesn't matter what country you served, it matters if you can do the job or not.
As for me. 2 tours in Iraq, 1 Afghanistan, 3 in Somalia, 6 in Mexico, 3 in Columbia and 1 in Peru.

Scout sniper. Yeah not the first time I herd that.
International contractor: marksman (model 98 Barret .338 lupua) and Intelligence.
Shit this is not going to end good.
This has earned a spot in my top 10's. I look forward to it continuing!

is that a song?
Good, he is wholly in the right for calling her out, and her lashing out against him and constantly lying to him is just proving his point. I don't want them to separate, but honestly at this point she deserves it.
Luna got what she deserves, no one should be treated like that in a dream, dreams are supposed to be a happy/safe place, Luna ended that for spitfire, not saying that spitfire is justified
