*sqqqeeeee* A New chapter i Love you!!!
Finally starting to move on.
Great work.
*salute's*
Jesus Christ you pump out such good writing every day or every other day and i seldom find mistakes! How do you do it?
7823086 I've got a friend who goes through the new chapters before they are published to try and find any errors I miss. He's certainly doing a good job so far.
Beautiful chapter. You've created something truly humbling. I felt so somber reading this but in a good way. Thank you.
You've got a fairly solid, mostly well written action/adventure/war story going on here. Especially covering how a few things from Earth could completely change the face of Equestria/its allies when it comes to combat and the like. Only a few errors here and there, not enough to break from the flow of reading it.
The lead character, with his PTSD and other issues, gives us a character with some solid personality. A lot of human in Equestria folks have an issue with making their character cardboard when it comes to personality, so kudos on not doing the same thing. He does seem to have a tendency to end up in the front of everything, but given the plot it only makes sense he does so.
If there is only a singular thing I might poke or gripe about, it's the fact you have this story tagged for Romance. You've got a hefty 200,000 words in this piece now, and two rolls in the hay and military banter for jokes doesn't really qualify as such. I really don't/haven't seen any elements of the tag, so it seems to be playing a non-existent role, or so small that I'm not noticing it. So, unless you're pulling the trigger on actual romance that runs along the plot, it just doesn't seem to fit.
Besides that, though, it's a very solid job. Will definitely be reading future updates you write.
7823910 Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.
With regards to the Romance element I may have added it a little prematurely But it is coming into play in the next few chapters.
I selected a number of readers to vote on who John will engage in a relationship with and they have now all voted, it shall be revealed soon.
7823925 Ah, good to know. It's a slight pet peeve of mine, seeing a good story, with a solid length and still going that has a romance tag, but no romance to speak of. I'll admit the tag is perhaps a large part of why I started on the story, but despite its lack of presence I found the other elements more than enough to keep me reading. So, excellent job on the writing there!
As for the romance, I mean, given the context of events we've seen, only two ponies really stand out as viable, Sunny and Spitfire. And, of those two, Sunny is the one that stands out between them. We've seen you tease a few moments, whether it was you bringing up the jealous looking glances, or the whole interaction when he was temporarily a pony and hit on Sunny... could theoretically start a family with either, if Twilight's spell is deep enough, too. But, that's far ahead of events. Anyways, I'll be reading the future updates, so thanks for letting me know about that. Keep up the good job on the writing.
Nice this ceremony brought a smile to my face.
this chapter hade to be a bit hard to wright I know for me it touched my hart as I have lost a vary close friend serving.
7977591 it's not the easiest topic to cover but it's an important one.
After serving myself I've lost friends who were deployed overseas. I still currently work alongside veterans who have lost friends of their own in combat.
You wrote that part well
I actually found myself shedding a tear while I was reading the part where the ceremony was taking place. Especially when John recited "In Flanders Field".
Why does he have no hangover?
8101805 Because there was a timeskip of about 8 days between the part where he woke up and the memorial.

Yes the same hear and I see this chapter as a loving chapter to all that served.
Vageta what does feels scanner say
ITS OVER 9000
You know what really grinds my gears? When an author makes me cry. I couldn't help it. Very few things make this farm boy cry nowadays, but it's really only the emotional pull of something like this.
'In honour of Corporal Williams and Lance Corporal Taylor of the 33rd Engineer Regiment, British Army. Lest we forget."
Very few story's on this site have made me cry. One such is Man of War. Another is a story of which I can't remember the name of but is of rainbow dash spending their last moments together as an asteroid destroys their world and they fall into the void in each others arms.
You sir have gotten into my best story collection and a thumbs up from me.
Yeah, tears did sprout.
I love the In Flanders fields poem, I haven't heard it or a sister’s version in years.
It reminds me of another poem that Firesight shared with me:
I hope I can catch up with the current chapter in relative good time. Until then, thank you Bobbybrony.
Oof....... yeah this almost got me, no tears but pretty close to it.
Why am I saluting in bed
