Leave it to a private to fuck things up
Fuck this private
Oh, the innuendo!
and that's how hell week started
Great, it's another monday...
8151028 Can't go wrong with a Five-Seven.
If only they were issued in the army.
I agree that privates name must of been Pyle cause he fucks up everything he did
Interesting.
The writing has some issues...
There are a lot of repetitions here and there and some passages are a bit clunky...
But overall good.
The British would have spoken in a much more refined manner. It's a side effect of drinking tea.
This story has grabbed my attention!

why didn't you mention Hartman?
I feel obligated to point out that most weapons don't produce the kind of muzzle flash that you're implying once the storm rolls in.
So the brits have privates who talk to higher? I thought that was the platoon leaders job, aka the LT. At least that's how it works on the American side. He/she is the one with all the knowledge of the different reports you have to send back to higher headquarters and coordinates ISR/CAS/QRF, whatever it is the platoon needs. He is way more effective on the radio then he would be actually on the line with the NCO's and lower enlisted. I get the storm kinda negates the radio here but if that were me I'd be doing everything i possibly could to get the radio back up, because if you lose comms then you lose the ability to coordinate any type of support and you're fucked. Also, it'd be cool if they still issued us bayonets, but they don't anymore. They just sit in our arms room, lol.

On tour, lower ranks and higher would often interact with one another when they're in the same unit. You're fighting alongside them, may as well get on.
As for the radio, in the British Army, all those who are out would have closed circuit radios to communicate with eachother in the field, but only one or two would have an additional radio to contact command and HQ. It leaves the channels clear to allow for contact and ensures correct radio procedure is followed at all times. The one operation the radio is often in the signals and a communications specialist.
As an ATO, the radio is often not used by him as radio signals may send signals to IEDs. Don't want an explosive going off in your face because you're either recieving or broadcasting a transmission.

Ah, I wasn't trying to say the lower enlisted and officers don't interact at all, but i suppose on mission things work a bit differently for us.
As for the radios, usually for us each truck has one and it's set for the platoon freq. The LTs and platoon sergeant's truck will have a second radio for higher, with the platoon leader switching between giving instructions for the convoy and reporting to command on the other net. Also, you guys don't have any DUKES/THORS, shit that jams anything that isn't your radios? We have them on our trucks and someone who is dismounted carries a portable one. They'll jam anything that isn't our shit from sending or receiving so we can use our radios on the ground.
Sergeant? Corporal? I’m not sure how the British military ranking works but I thought sergeant was below corporal; I only know the American and Canadian ranking
9313812
Sergeant is above a Corporal. The ranks of NCO's in the British Army from highest to lowest are as follows.
Warrant Officer Class 1 (Regimemtal Sergeant Major)
Warrant Officer Class 2 (Company Sergeant Major)
Staff/Colour Sergeant
Sergeant
Corporal
Lance Corporal
Private
Even in the US a Corporal is below a Sergeant.
9313996
Hmmm, good to know, and lieutenant is above them both?
9314234
A Lieutenant is a Commissioned Officer, towards the bottom of the scale but its on there. Commissioned Officers are above NCOs.
From highest rank to lowest of the Commissioned Officers:
General (4 star General)
Lieutenant Genral (3 star General)
Major General (2 star General)
Brigadier General (1 star General)
Colonel
Lieutenant Colonel
Major
Captain
Lieutenant
Second Lieutenant
Late to the party, but hey, this looks interesting. Let's see where this goes.
I'm sorry, but when I read this I could help but think of this lol

Aside from that, decent start so far.
