He had a warning of the effect and decided to continue on the same action? Isnt that the method of walking into machine gun fire until they run out of bullets or something?
Oh well, they needed someway for things to continue as canon and not say have Glimmers horn shot off with a sniper round if she was lucky.
Well it seems she just knocked him out... Well, shouldn't be hard to kick down that door later, then.
I really want that lose end to be tied. No time travel for her this time.
If cats could sing...they'd hate the song too.
Darn, I was hoping someone would react to Pinkie Pie comparing said muffins to cardboard.
Should'a shot Starlight the second Twilight started yelling.
Should've called America there, I mean, all you need to do is yell "COMMUNISM!" and Captain America will come, no matter what dimension and no matter what their intention is, because for some reason America always find a way to fuck somebody's days up.
Also
Do you have problem with communism? Do you want the dictator next door to shut up? Well, I got an easy solution! It's the all new Freedom Stick!

It's what every facist want to be. Buy now! Only $9.11!
not really sure what to say about this chapter.
Star Light will play a huge roll later on but at the same time she defiantly needs a good beet down.
Starlight: "I got your Cutie Marks! You shall obey my equal-"
*John shoots Starlight into the head, killing her.*
Twilight: Why did you do that?!
John: I don't obey shit! Long live the Queen!
Sorry. Couldn't help myself. I go into the corner.
On a more serious note. I hope John somehow affects the episode, still. Just letting him come with them, getting hit by Starlight in order to let him remember his action of killing Spectre and waking up after everything is already over is not enough for me!
Should've just shot her the moment things went to shitz.
I understand that Starlight plays a big part in canon....But this isn't canon, this is fanfic...
I'm not sure if you plan to follow canon or not, but I really don't want to rewatch the episodes again....even more so with Starlight poor attempt at spying in the later episodes...especially with trained soldiers like him around.
8143724 I know. I overdramatized it in my comments on purpose, I thought the first time I saw this episode that her character was a nice change of pace and an interesting new touch.
I still think John should have done something more and act (maybe it were the painkillers ) before he fainted, but it's not the worst that could happen. Hey, he even picked up on the "communist" thought. But I can't imagine that Starlight can just escape unpunished, the friendship brigade is one think, but in John's case Starlight assaulted the CAPTAIN of the Lunar Guard. That's like screwing up majorly to attack the soldiers of a princess.
Granted Twilight is a princess herself, but she's much to soft, I mean she even forgives instantly a pony who tried to destroy the timeline itself in order to stop Twilight and her friends from getting their Cutie Marks during Rainbow's Sonic Rainboom and tosses Equestria -sure it was unwanted that Equestria ended up as some war ridden land or that others suffered immensely, but the results still count- into turmoil. So getting taken away your very identity is no problem for her either, but Luna and Celestia are much... more experienced and wouldn't look over such things lightly like she does.
I don't have as much dislike for the way you're writing this as a side-by-side of the canon as the other's seem to. You write how you want.
But what bothers me is that John went out with a critical injury and expected to function like normal. Wtf captain!? You would order your team to get rest but you're special?
Send someone else who is capable. You're a walking liability in any situation right now and you know it.
If Luna doesn't kick his ass after this...

There it is. I was half expecting something like this to pop up. I had hoped that it wouldn't, but it wasn't unexpected.
If it's getting anywhere close to portraying communism. There is absolutely no way to tell. Because communism is an economic system. A lot of people don't seem to know what communism really, really is. They compare it to a dictatorship because of the USSR. Which I know you brought up, I'll get to it. The dictionary defines communism as: "a theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs." That's it. No mention of suppressing liberties or conformity on a massive scale. Like shown in Our Town.
You're describing the effects of capitalism on society. A real communist society would not have that effect. I can feel you thinking "USSR". I'll get to it.
That's called a dictatorship. Not communism. "But communist dictatorship?" Unless it's exclusive to communist dictatorships, that part of the fanfic makes no sense. And denounces only communist dictatorships. Although I can understand that it's about Our Town. Which is widely believed to be communist. It is a huge miss-understanding bred from America's hate for communism. Which is also understandable. Stalin ruined communism for a lot of people. Getting closer to mentioning the USSR.
And there it is. Here's the thing. The USSR was never communist. Sure it was headed that way after the bolchevik revolution of 1917 (or was it 1916?). Lenin was at the head. About to create a communist government. But then Stalin came along. Stalin, who saw an opportunity to seize power. He killed off the people who could potentially stop him by torturing them into admitting they were traitors and had them publicly executed. And he turned what would have and should have been a communist government into a capitalist dictatorship. I say capitalist because, well, just look in history books. There where a some very rich people and a lot of very poor people. And companies were privately owned between several rich Russians. Making the USSR capitalist. Stalin just kept telling the people that the USSR was communist to placate them. Otherwise he would have had a revolution on his hands.
So bottom line is. There's no indication that Our Town is communist. And especially, people need to stop confusing communism and dictatorships. They are not the same thing. I understand where the confusion comes from. But we have access to information more than ever. So go look for that information. It's not your fault if you were told something that wasn't true and believed it. But if you don't go and rectify the falsehood you were told by seeking information, then it is your fault if you don't know. Especially know that I have posted this. You may not consider it to be true. But you owe it to yourselves to fact check me. If for nothing else, at least getting in the habit of fact checking.
I am aware that I may be getting some hate from this at some point. But it worth it if even one person learns something.
That's all I have to say really.
I am enjoying this fic. I hope you don't think otherwise.

The whole point in comparing this society to communism is the idea that the economic system's preaching of equality is comparable, and it is. It's really that simple. The fact that "equality" was mostly imposed on the populace is irrelevant. No it isn't exact, but that's why it is a comparison. And yes, even in communist societies there are, in fact, a few well off people at the top with the rest on the bottom. This is because corruption exists and people are people. They aren't programmed with binary code to follow rules even of their own making and the ones that can take advantage do so, this will always be the case everywhere at all times. There will never, ever, be a truly communist country because of this. By your definition, there has never been a true communist society ever, which is technically true, but still splitting hairs when the majority of a populace experiences it and are themselves locked out of capitalism. A few at the top with most on bottom is NOT just an effect of capitalism, it is the effect of all societies in general. There has never been a lasting society proven to have existed that has had access and use of metals, that wasn't nomadic, where this hasn't been the case.
I wasn’t going to say anything on the first comment, but hoooooo boy John got some hate for commies in him
