This story is a sequel to Shadowbolts Adventures: Desperate Hearts

Lemon Zest and Vinyl Scratch have been happily dating ever since their dance-off through the streets of Canterlot, but when Octavia Melody spots them in a record store together, she passes a disturbing warning on to Lemon. A warning she simply can't ignore. When she confronts Vinyl Scratch about it, she hears the entire chilling tale of their ill-fated relationship.

Yet another heartfelt story done. Can't wait to see the next one. Maybe it'll focus on the Alternate Sunset a little more. Then again, that probably won't happen for awhile.

Now I'm conflicted. I like Vinyl and Octavia together, but I also like Lemon Zest and Vinyl!

I don't like lesbian stories, but this one got my attention. Good work.

This is great! Not what I was expecting while reading the title but Well written and enjoyable. Can't wait for the next story in the series!

did Octavia strike vinyl back?

Opposites may attract, but it doesn't always work out. I think the key is to appreciate and embrace the things your partner brings into your life, which Octavia and Vinyl obviously were unable to do. Let's hope our other favorite night-and-day couples have better luck with their own relationships.

The real trick is realizing when it's not working. Too many people keep holding onto a failing relationship because it's not "right" to let a relationship fail. Any relationship is supposed to be hard work they say, and you're "supposed" to keep working at it until it starts working. Sometimes though, it really is better to realize when enough is enough. Not just any random pair of people can have a functional, healthy relationship. If they could, there would be no loneliness in the world.

Holy cow, this was beautiful! :pinkiesad2:

Wow, this hurt. Too many painful memories...
Still, wonderfully done. The apology wasn't big and stupid and overblown. It was quick, and sweet, and heartfelt.

That's surprisingly well handled, I admit I was worried to read this one thinking it would be some strange horror show, or go really really bad.

I've seen a relation ship go like that, its not pretty. For me, you captured it really well in rather few words and it was a well, i wouldn't say nice, because its kinda sad, but also kinda teary happy feeling as the story progresses.

Oh man
The feels are strong with this one. :fluttercry:

This story gave me depression. :pinkiesad2:

6684228 Very wise words DragonShadow. Very wise.

Pity they can't be friends again, or so Vinyl thinks... I think for me, that'd be the worst part, just losing that friendship...

I'm a huge OctaScratch fan, so this one hit me right in the feels. While I like Lemon and Vinyl together, Octavia and Vinyl are just the right mix of opposites for me.

And while it's sad to see that they're not even looking at each other aside from school, I'm glad that there's some small hope that they'll at least go back to being friends someday.
