“Ah, there you are! You won’t believe how hard it was to get in here. So? How did it go? Oh, right! Silly me…”

The serpentine creature extends its long body, reaching out with a hand that belongs to a lion. It was the gentler of his two mismatched hands.

“There!” He says with a toothy grin on his long bearded face. “Don’t worry, in an hour or so you’ll be talking normally again, just like the rest of us normal talking folks. I promise. And I’ll take you back to Vanhoover. You’re from Vanhoover, right? Or was it Hoofington? Ah heck, as long as you’re not here. Look at these walls! Yellow foam? No doorknob? Nonono, this is no place for a classy pony like you!”

He pats my mane with one hand and strokes his chin with the other, pretending to think.

“Pretending?” He says, his jaw literally dropping to the floor. “I’ll have you know that I think more than all the ponies in this town combined! Oh, why am I arguing with you? Ha, but it was fun.”

He lifts me up with his lion arm and squeezes me tight like a purse at his side.

“Snap!”

Everyone knows James Earl Jones. If nothing else then at least for being Darth Vader in the first three Star Wars movies. As well as Mufasa in the Lion King.

As for the narrator from Bastion, I'm pretty sure that's Ron Perlman. Never heard anyone who sounds like Ron Perlman except Ron Perlman.

5630868 Thanks. I thought it was maybe a bit of a risk putting in details like that, since it's not a straightforward punchline. I find that people tend to be really polarized when it comes to comedy. Either they finds it hilarious or they says "the joke is stupid and you're stupid."
