Once again, King Sombra has returned from the depths of defeat. Unfortunately for him he's been stripped of all his powers and been put under the charge of Spike the dragon. To complicate matters, Sombra discovers he and Spike are both part of something that started in a time before the alicorns, Discord, or even ponies in general.
Join the unlikely pair as they share in a series of trials and adventures that will put both of them to the test, and inevitably draw them closer together.
The story takes place fifteen years after the Tirek incident, making each character significantly older than in the show's current timeline.
A M/M story that's been rattling around in my head for some time now.

When I get around to the rewrites I'll try and make things a bit more clear.
I am down voting cause I prefer my romance stories fluffy and mainly slice of life, and I don't want to get my future selfs hopes up when looking for new romance stories.
5957086 That's understandable. This is something of a writing experiment for me. I admittedly took some risks I wasn't sure of, but to have Sombra in the story I need him to get reformed. It couldn't just be fluff from the get go, as much as I enjoy fluff.
Interesting premise. I love the idea of Spike as an adolescent dragon watching over one of the antagonists reduced to a shadow of their former self.

I was so hoping that you'd another Spike x villain story, I wouldn't lie that I was hoping for Spike and one if not all the dragon teens to be ship together but I like this. I have only a few questions. Is there going to be a flashback chapter or something of that about the time Spike and Twilight stated to be son and Mom and one were Spike comes out. Also I really want to know how many hearts Spike broke and other things he broke when they broke his heart.

As for another Spike story with teenage dragons, its not likely to happen. The only one I liked was Fizzle, and harem or polyamory isn't my cup of tea. Im not against shipping Spike with other villains, but I think I'll wait and see if we get more guy villains.

I think I could listen to Spike's cooking skills all day, also love all the awesome stuff Spike's done and jobs now he has. I had a feeling that Pipsqueak was Spike's ex he seems like the type to be into weird stuff. I also really like making Lyra one of Spike's friends, her and Vinyle are some of my favorite side unicorns.

5959956 Uh... like, sexually? I dunno. They aren't anywhere near having a legitimate relationship yet. It's literally been a day since they really met.
I will say Sombra is going to have difficulty with his feelings and will probably be a major tsundere.
We still aren't even at the big reveal yet, which sets the premise for the rest of the story and gets the adventure rolling. I hope to have the big reveal chapters out within a couple days.
OK this one was awesome. i could so see Twilight making ( am calling it Smoke Joke) illegal on the grounds of just making share Spike have it, she seems like the type to remove the temptation than give out the punishment parenting style.

I typically can't stand it when a story about romance just suddenly and randomly has adventure in it just to drive out the length or force an issue between the two lovers, and it saddens me that they can't be like this story, where the adventure is settled in first, and the love is settled in through it, giving the romance a natural, reasonable flow through the adventure...
And having said that, I'll say this: I love this story, I'm on the edge of my seat from the potential it holds, and I'm kinda saddened it's only rated Teen

6045379 No, it was a sort of cheesy remark that Sombra said based on his current condition and seeing Spike so out of sorts. He still couldn't hear, it was just a somewhat bittersweet way to have Sombra show some progress and what I thought was a cute way to end their segment of the chapter.

Off to a good start, though I think you should remove the "Random" tag from the story. Random usually denotes a story that contains chapters with little or no connection to each other, or something like an off-the-wall comedy. Not getting the sense of either of those so far.
Pipsqueak was Spike's ex? I can buy it, at least from the fanon portrayals of him as a stallion, lol.
