Cadence is killed in an attack by Queen Chrysalis as an act of revenge for the failed invasion, Shining kills her in retaliation but the lonely life soon gets to him. Shining has become distant from everypony & pays attention to only his work ruling as king of the Crystal Empire. After 3 years of separating himself from Equestria a hero of the Crystal Empire returns to save him from himself & just maybe show him how to love again.

Damn. You're not a fan of Shining Armor (which has me wondering why write this in the first place?) You don't like Rarity. Who do you like? And why not write a story about them?
3730179 my boyfriend liked the idea & I thought it would be challenging. I hate Rarity because she uses Spike & is too prissy & whiny. I merely haven't seen enough Shining Armor to like him. My favorites are Fluttershy, Zecora, Spike, Discord, Luna, & some of the BG ponies. I usually don't like using mane 6 anyway because I don't like any of them for romance besides Fluttershy or Twilight but I like them otherwise (except Rarity).
I actually know someone who did something similar to what Spike did to that poor food stand vendor.

Got a hint of Twibitch there. The way she always cares more for books then anything is on reason why I don't like 50% of the time. And normally I don't like Flash but after this chapter I have some sempathy for him.

4493993 Spike is my favorite character and once I did one M/M Spike story I got requested to do a sequel and then another separate story and it sorta became my niche I guess. I've got a couple more ideas already in the works.
I'm curious... who would Spike's mom be? I can only guess that it's Celestia, and I'm only raising this question at all because I'm wondering when she's going to know about the relationship and how she'll react.

This chapter reminds me of a cheesy romance confession.
I'm not gonna lie, this needs a serious rework. Your pacing is incredibly fast, so much so it becomes very unrelatable or unbelievable. The grammar is kinda mediocre in some places as is the spelling. The only thing i can honestly say is good about this story so far is the concept, which i find to be a really interesting "what if"

And Spike cutting onions... poor guy, but I had to laugh at that! He was literally cutting onions! 
So far, I love everything about this story and I want more. Now.
I'm kind of hoping that Princess Celestia is Spike mother. Just to see Shining Armor freak out and go as far to wear his full battle armor when she arrive. That would be very funny.
