Danger Beans

I was once an ordinary Lima Bean. One day I got bitten by a radioactive fanfiction writer and my life was changed forever.

For six months, Bruce Wayne has been stranded in Equestria. And for six months, he has desired only one thing: to return to Gotham City.

But Bruce Wayne's journey to Equestria was no act of chance. He soon finds that he was brought to Equestria for a reason, by something as dark and twisted as the minds of Arkham's most notorious inmates. With only Princess Luna to aid him, Batman will have to face a darkness beyond any he's fought before.

This is the Batman crossover that Fimfiction deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

Consider this favorited.

Not a huge Batman fan but this is really promising.

Hmm... I'm always hesitant about crossovers.

That said, I may just give this one a try.

Well written as well as interesting.

Sounds like it would be cooler if this whole thing took place in dreams, rather than "human in Equestria", but that's going off of the description.

4478160 Can't say for fics in general, but a lot of the likes this one has are probably due to it being in the popular stories side-bar.

4479878
I'm not entirely sure what dictates whether or not you get into the sidebar, but I've seen stories in there with a rather small amount of likes -- Angel Graces Notebook made it into the sidebar with only 26 likes and 3 dislikes.

From what I've heard/read the popular stories selection is actually a train-wreck in terms of selection.

4479936 S'how it seems to be sadly, yup. Mm, I can take a glance when I have some time. Having some health problems as of late so it may be a bit until I get to it. I will take a look though. :3

Okay, if you two want to have a conversation, that's fine, but take it to Private Messaging.

4481199 Yeah, sorry about that mate.

This is awesome! Moooooooore

A story about Batman, by somone who reads my stuff and thinks it's actually good. You got my read!

BTW good idea starting with a long first chapter. That really gets people hooked.:yay:

4478160 It has to do with timing, the popularity of the subject, luck, and skill. You need all of these to get a story to take of quickly. Don't be discouraged by numbers on other stories. if you have 10 likes and 3 dislikes or even a couple likes, that means that people are out there that like your stuff.

4484698

Hey, let's get one thing straight: I don't think your stuff is "good." :flutterrage:

I think it's great! :yay:

Disliked for ass-tacular author avatar

I didn't mean this story. It was a mispost. So sorry, mate.
I actually quite like this one

Alright, so he killed the Nightmare Beast, or at least disabled it for a period. Question is, just what is it, and why wasn't Luna able to stop it?

Woooah, Batman really wailed on his sorry ass.

Damn this is pretty good. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The answers you seek will come next chapter . . . maybe. :trollestia:

4650371
If you have a story about Batman, and it doesn't involve him wailing on copious amounts of ass, then something is wrong. Very wrong. :rainbowderp:

4652631
I'm glad to hear it! This chapter was a beast to write.

Really, another cliffhanger?

Good to see that you are still updating this fic.

I plan to finish this story, one way, or another.

5468084 Well done. I very much enjoyed the memories and how they told us more bout Bruce Wayne. I also liked how you depicted Superman. In the short amount of time he was present he seemed much more interesting than he is in most movies.

(finishes reading) .....Has anyone ever told you that you're an excellent writer? Cos it's true.

5470801

Well done.

That's high praise coming from you! :twilightblush:

I very much enjoyed the memories and how they told us more bout Bruce Wayne.

This is very much a Bruce Wayne story every inch as much as a Batman story. Growing up, my favorite Batman comics were always the ones who put an equal focus into both Batman and Bruce Wayne. It's one of the things I love so much about Scott Snyder's depiction's of Batman in The New 52: none of that "Bruce Wayne is only a mask I wear" crap that became so popular in the late nineties. In TN52, Bruce Wayne wages a war on crime by day with with fundraisers, public awareness campaigns, and urban renewal projects, and wages a secret war by night as Batman with his fists, and a private arsenal of bat-themed weaponry. Two different wars, fought by two different warriors. Oh my God, I'm totally using this in a later chapter, Thanks Spanner!

I also liked how you depicted Superman. In the short amount of time he was present he seemed much more interesting than he is in most movies.

The rule of thumb I go by with DC and Marvel is as follows: Marvel makes the better movies, DC makes the better comics. In the comics, Superman wields the power of a god, and he is all too aware of just how much he can do with his power for good . . . or ill. And it really makes you feel for him.

I don't think that there's any compliment that a writer hopes to get more than that! :twilightblush:

5472262 Thanks

I thought they did an okay job at making Bruce more developed in the new movies (they could have done more). What I think is funny is he may have said something along the lines of wearing a Bruce Wayne mask in the new movies. What I find the most interesting about Batman and Bruce Wayne is that he is so traumatized and perhaps internally insecure. He has to do things for himself and challenge his physical and mental skills just to make himself feel self-worthy.

When you had him getting upset with Luna for forcing him to let her heal him it reminded me of this exact character flaw in Batman. He is so afraid of not being able to help himself that he doesn't want help from anyone. The irony (maybe it isn't) is that he helps others for the exact same reason, he figures they need protection from things they can't fight alone.

Thus the tragic hero archetype was born, except Batman does it the best.

Spanner you magnificent bastard! :coolphoto:

I wish I could tell you how magnificent you are, but for now, at least, I have to keep quiet.

You're really going to like the next several chapters.

5478191 Ha! lol.:pinkiehappy:

I'll settle with you correcting the next chapter of ATTtP soon. (working on it now). Not literally now because I'm typing this message, and chances are by the time you read this I won't be working on it then either. However, be assured I am working on it and GRAM too!:twilightblush:

I have done my review! Read it here.

I have made a blog post to promote it. Read it here.

You have impeccable timing, friend. I just finished the newest chapter today. Once it's been through the prereading it will be promptly posted.

We all know that this is all Batman really ever needed but if she is going to try and heal him it will take more then a few treatments and boy will Luna need help from helping Batman. Great chapter and glad to see this story back!

Ok, she caught him with his "Shields" down, Batmans mind is usally coverd by friggin iron walls, whomever did this must have really messed him up, so bad that even his mental blocks are down.

oh that wont end well....

So this is how Luna met Bruce? Deep...

Can't wait for more

Thumbs up for best Batman on Fimfiction!

“You’re nothing! You’re a maggot in a rotting corpse! A Worm! Nothing! Why won’t you give in!?” The Depriver screams, his face twisted in pain, fury . . . and fear. “What are you!?”

Bruce Wayne looks into The Depriver’s black eyes and says, “I’m Batman.”

Oooooohhhhh!!!!

Bruce Wayne looks into The Depriver’s black eyes and says, “I’m Batman.”

*Wipes manly tear.*

I thoroughly enjoy everything about this story; the writing, the presentation, the characterization, the life and detail you've brought to bear. Everything. I would absolutely love to read every bit of text you can come up with for this tale. If you ever decide to resume this, you can definitely expect me to follow it intently.
