Within the deepest recesses of Tartarus, there is a storm that never ends. A swirling maelstrom fueled by the dark and terrible magics that reside within the infernal pit. Within the eye of this storm, like a pearl within an oyster, is the great floating city of Dis. Dis was intended to be a paradise where all could be free, and live in Harmony. A place where hunger, sadness, and even death would hold no sway.
But you cannot build a paradise at the mouth of Hell without consequence . . .
A spiritual adaptation of Bioshock Infinite & prequel to Twilight's Inferno. Assumes no knowledge of either.
intresting
Wow. I love this prologue.
Picking up hints of Equality too.
Having never played any Bioshock games before, I don't know if this is referencing any of them, but I don't care; it's enough of a hook either way.
Just one little derp I found:
Oh here we go. Seeing the connection to Paul's work now.
Siren song... siren song...
I admit I've no idea where this is going. But the first-person-present-tense style is fascinating. I feel like I'm inside Green Leaf's head already.
I'll be watching this.

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you liked it.
As I said, this story assumes no knowledge of its inspirations, so that's very good to hear. Probably the hardest part of figuring this story out was how to both connect it to Paul's world and the world of Bio-Shock without taking anything away from the readers who know nothing about them. Asaran's been very helpful on that front.
i am confused as a fried chicken in a battle field! i don't know what the F**k is happening, can someone explain to me please? i am very lost

That point of this chapter was to make the reader feel like the character, so I'm glad to know I succeeded.
Oh, Green Leaf. You'll learn one day that Tall Poppy Syndrome doesn't infect every mind around you. But what about you? Do you hate Clop for her beauty?
Missing the close quote there.
Ah, so this is set in the distant past. I've probably missed some other obvious cue earlier in the story but this cemented that fact for me anyway.
Oh, shit. Green's worst nightmare.
That got ominous fast.
What the hell is Clop's game? She's a total enigma to me. Guess you'll just have to post more content for me to figure it out.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up Tall Poppy Syndrome; it's very appropriate.
I'm very happy that to you Cleopatra is the enigma that I wanted her to be. The only one who knows her purpose in this story is Paul himself, and I will be utterly shocked if anyone guesses it. (Yes, that is a challenge.)
