Equestria in Human

Fluttershy poured another bowl of food, and a flood of squirrels immediately surrounded it. She smiled; she loved her job, after all. After seeing to it that her bunnies were fed – especially the picky Angel – she sighed with content.

Her spa date with Rarity would be in just thirty minutes, so it was probably time to go. Living so far out of town was inconvenient at times, but she had to in order to have room for her lovely animals, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

“Now, you be sure to keep all the other critters in line for me, okay, Angel?”

The bunny took a moment away from his custom-made salad to give her a sharp salute.

“Good bunny.” With another smile, she turned and walked out through the door.

Outside, the sun shone brightly, and her freshly fed birds sang out loud and clear. Only a few fluffy white clouds blotted the sky.

With a spring in her step and a gentle song on her mind, she trotted away toward the center of Ponyville.

The ground shook.

Fluttershy stumbled, her wings flaring out to keep her steady. The song and happy trot vanished, replaced by wary glances at her surroundings. She had a sudden desire to flee, but she didn't know where she could go to be safe from an earthquake.

The rumbling stopped.

She sighed. Of course. She was a pegasus; she had the perfect way to escape earthquakes... If only she was brave like Rainbow Dash, maybe she would have thought of it in time. Still, at least no harm had come from it. As soon as the tremors stopped, the world around her returned to normal.

Shaking her head, she started off toward the Spa again. Hopefully there wouldn't be too much damage in Ponyville, and she could trade stories with Rarity about the earthquake. Rarity's story was sure to be more interesting, anyway. She was always good about dramatizing things.

She trotted on, looking around for any sign of trouble from the earthquake. Even though she was getting closer to town and there were many houses around, none of them seemed badly damaged. It was still a beautiful day, and–

Her glance caught the gleam of something metallic, high in the northern sky.

She stopped in her tracks. Now that was strange, and more than a little frightening.

The metal grew, showing a sharp, triangular shape as more of it appeared in the sky, only stopping when it was truly gargantuan. It dwarfed the morning sun.

Fluttershy winced. She could feel a panic coming on.

The shining edge of the blade slowly sliced across the sky, leaving a widening rift behind it. Fluttershy's jaw dropped. What began to show through behind the red-edged rift was unbelievable.

Some kind of giant creature looked in through the slice. Its face and head were covered with huge, light blue sheets, but its enormous eyes were visible, like nothing Fluttershy had ever seen before.

As the rift across the sky widened, the creature's arm became visible, holding the other side of the blade cutting across the sky. The creature's eyes narrowed, and it leaned in close, filling up the entire view. It stared down into Equestria, and Fluttershy could swear it was staring directly at her.

The giant knife resumed its slice across the sky, and the clear blue sky fell away to either side, revealing more and more of the ominous scene beyond. Huge, square lights hovered above, far brighter than the sun. The shapes of more enormous, blue-clad creatures loomed behind the first.

The blade retreated from the sky, after cutting all the way across. After a moment, a huge, blue hand, holding some strange, gleaming metal tool approached. The two prongs of the tool rushed toward her, separating as they drew closer. They grew to a nearly incomprehensible size, and while one of them disappeared below the northern horizon, the other prong rushed across where the sky used to be, casting its shadow over everything.

It stopped, just for a moment, but then the metallic monstrosity came crashing down, burning through the atmosphere and crushing into the ground. It must have hit miles away from Fluttershy, but she could still feel the ground tremor when it hit, she could still see the shockwave of displaced air approaching, and she could still clearly see it, towering high above the tallest mountains.

The ground shook, just as the blast of wind hit her. It lurched violently, and she fell to the ground.

As Fluttershy looked up, she saw the scene in the sky move, tilting and spinning. Her breathing came shallow and fast. She couldn't take this anymore. With one last little squeak, blackness overtook her.

“Doctor Hendricks, I've removed the foreign object, and the patient is ready to be closed.” Doctor Miller moved over to the specimen tray, gripping the strange object tightly with his surgical steel extraction tool.

“Thank you.” Doctor Hendricks moved up next to the patient. “Debbie, a sterile rinse, please, and get the sutures ready.”

Carefully, Doctor Miller set the orb down into the small steel specimen tray, releasing his hold on it. He leaned in close again, fascinated by it. He'd never seen anything like that inside a human body before, that was sure. He'd never seen anything like it at all, as a matter of fact – not this size. It looked rather like a planet, complete with continents and oceans. It even had clouds, but it was barely larger than his fist.

He shook his head. Even with it now sitting plainly right in front of him, he still had no idea what it was. When Mister Bennet back on the table there had first come into his office complaining about abdominal pain, this was the last thing Doctor Miller would have expected. Initial scans and X-rays had detected a spherical object wedged just above his appendix. There had been fears of cancer, but now Doctor Miller had no idea what to think. Just what was that thing?

Author's Note:

Why not?
It's something I doubt has been done before. (As dangerous as that is to say on the internet.)

Yeah... my one-shots have been getting kinda weird lately.

When I saw the title, I spat out my drink and had to clean my computer. :rainbowlaugh:

Just reading the title, I was chucking "to the feature box!"

I saw this pop up on my notifications and nearly choked on my Doritos at the title. Must read!

This was amazing. :rainbowlaugh:

Boy, am I glad I caught this one in the new column!

what the hell did he eat to make equestria grow inside him, and where can I get some?

3887519

Why do you want an entire world to appear inside of you? That's dangerous!

3887469
Sorry about that! :twilightblush:

3887487
I really don't expect this one to gather too much excitement... but hey, who knows?
(And this is exactly the kind of fic that people trying to publish good stories complain about taking up feature box slots!) :rainbowlaugh:

3887491
The intended reaction exactly! ^.^

3887493
Thanks!

3887494
I'm glad you did, too. :raritywink:

3887519
Probably something he ate at the Chinese buffet on 4th street. :twilightoops:

3887557
Not too dangerous.
Mr. Bennet is expected to make a full recovery.

3887563
Ah, finally, I get that gif used on me. :yay:
This is a good day.
(And that gif comes from one of my favorite movies. ^.^)

CHUUUUUUURCH!

3887644 Red vs. Blue. Season 9 plot twist.

Well all I have to say about this is my reaction to this part.

She had a sudden desire to flee, but she didn't know where she could go to be safe from an earthquake.

*Sigh* "Come on Fluttershy, you're a pegasus! Go up!"

She sighed. Of course. She was a pegasus; she had the perfect way to escape earthquakes...

"There you go! Now don't you feel silly."

This was the conversation I had with my computer screen while I read this story, that is all.

Humans are Cthulhu.

Weird, but also funny.

I wonder what's going to happen to the ponies now?

If the planet is fist size than they must be microscopic, I hope they don't get thrown out. :twilightoops:

3887642 mfw finished reading this story

3887600 I live on 4th st! Litterly.

Glad to see someone else trying to REALLY do something different with the HiE trope. I salute you good sir/madam. :rainbowdetermined2:

Such a simple idea it's hard to believe no one thought of it before. Nice job.

You put this in two categories in "Short Stories." Which would you prefer it in?

Also, the doctor set the planet down? I can only assume he just crushed a society of talking kangaroos.

3887651
Indeed.
She will be forgotten.

3887966 You stop that right now.

3887976
Stop what?
"I forget." what we were talking about.

3888051
Mwuhahahaha!
[youtube=xnw5-v4tsSQ]

3888140 I think you messed that up...

3888142
Fixed. I wanted it to start right before he was talking to himself, but fimfic wouldn't let me.

Sir, I think I have aliens living in my chest.

3887651
Oh.

3887652

3887655
Very in character, I thought.

3887661
:rainbowlaugh:

3887664
I'll leave it to the other illustrious writers here to possibly write a sequel.

3887668
Ah, makes sense then. ^.^

3887673
Is there a Chinese restaurant there?

3887684
It's definitely different! ^.^

3887728
Yep, pretty much the reaction I was going for.

3887842
I know, right?
When I thought of it, I just knew I had to write it.

3887896
Yeah, my one-shots have been getting weird lately, huh?

3887932
Oh, sorry. Just leave it in whichever one you think fits best.

3887944
Probably. :facehoof:

3887966
3887976
:facehoof:
You know, you two... PM's are a thing.

3888373
Indeed

3888550
You might be right! ^.^

3888704 Your Sea Swirl is sexy. Not as sexy as Octavia of course, Octavia is my waifu and always will be.

Weird comment for the weird story. :trollestia:

3888750
Seafoam (Sea Swirl) is best background pony!
(Octavia is too popular to count as a background pony.)

3888784
:rainbowkiss: Just what I was hoping for.

3888822 Octavia's popular, but nowhere near that of Lyra, Bonbon, or the others, hell even Vinyl has like one and a half times as much fanart and fiction as her.

She is still very much background pony, particularly when she's only been in two episodes in the entire show. While Sea Swirl has been in most of them.

But if you want best unpopular background pony it's Lemon Hearts. :moustache:

3888841
Fine.
:ajbemused:
Sea Swirl is best pony out of ponies who don't have fimfic character tags.
:moustache:

3888862 Sea Swirl has a character tag I think, Lemon Hearts I know doesn't.

Well the ideas sure hasn't been done and i msut say brovo *slow clap here*

3888875
Nope, she doesn't have a tag. I checked.

3888904
Thanks!

3888938 *Looks* Oh, it was Sparkler... damn nearly identical ponies. :trixieshiftleft:
