Murba

T

When all the chances are gone, when there are no cards left to play, who is left to turn to when, at the darkest hour, all that can be done is sit back and hope for the best.

For a husband and wife, they face such a dilemma. With someone they love and cherish teetering on the edge of death, all of their options have run dry and they question what to do next. That is, until a man comes to them with a proposition.
He comes at their own darkest hour, claiming to have the ability to save the one they love.

But this man is not normal, not at all. Neither is the organization he is a part of or the people he associates himself with.

None of this matters, though. All that matters is one thing and one thing only. That in the end, the one they love more than anything will be saved.

No matter the cost.

Holy shit this is amazing.

Very interesting concept and characterization of Chrysalis, bu he grammar could use some work. This story would be greatly improved with help from some editors.

One small thing that bugged me was the phrase "The man named Thomas..." and its other equivalents. It's very easy to tell who the characters are, so adding "the man named" is unnecessary and hurts he flow of the story. For example, "The pony named Twilight Sparkle..." could just be replaced with "Twilight Sparkle" and nothing would be lost.

I like the ideas in this story, but the execution could be a little stronger. Good luck in the contest!
