The Changelings have taken over Equestria, and Queen Chrysalis had set up a totalitarian rule. Anypony that tries to rally against her, gets brainwashed into doing her bidding. Unbeknownst to her, there is a growing resistance of ponies that work in the cover of night. There's only one way to dethrone the Queen, in the past.

Just before Noteworthy's first opening act for Sapphire Shores on a big stage in Canterlot; he begins to experience stage fright like he's never before felt. His boyfriend, Royal Pin, attempts to calm him down and remind him of his dreams.

After overhearing a rumor that his friendship with Fluttershy means stallions are too afraid to date her, Discord swears that he will find her the perfect mate. Unfortunately Discord has absolutely no idea what a pony wants in their special somepony. Happily, he has many pony friends now that he can ask for advice, but no matter how much advice he gets, nothing seems to go according to plan.

Seven years. For seven years she was neglected. In that time, she was underpowered, defeated by a nag in the moon, defeated by an evil bug roach, a victim to tentacle vines, defeated again by the same evil bug roach as before, as well as many other slights and insults in between.

All she wanted was one episode of her own, one to show her glorious personality in all of its radiant glory. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Her impressive record as the longest living and serving monarch (now diarch, lots of love to dear, dear Little Luna), brokering peace and prosperity the likes of which no other nation could hold a candle to! Or a sun, for that matter.

Time to do something about that.

Ledger Line is an accountant, and a unicorn at that. He can't grow a thing to save his life, which is bad because he's currently the owner of Cherry Jubilee's cherry orchard, and it's drowning in debt.

Enter Applejack. Applejack is an earth pony, not so good with numbers but definitely good at working in an orchard. She doesn't talk about herself much, but he's not about to question his only hope for saving the orchard. Things like her constant recurring nightmares and that hawk she always carries can stay, along with her cherry pies and business sense, if he's got any hope for saving the orchard.

If you've ever seen Ladyhawke, you know where this is going.
