Hitch Trailblazer acquires a seemingly worthless artifact from Alphabittle. He soon discovers this artifact is far from worthless though, as it transports him back in time to when alicorns ruled Equestria.
Hitch is curious why mayonnaise is taboo, especially now that the other words are not. There's only one pony he can turn to for answers, but can he really trust Izzy isn't embellishing the details? I mean, mayonnaise volcano is hyperbole... right?
When Alphabittle is seen with Queen Haven, the media of Zephyr Heights start reporting that the two are a couple. Izzy is excited to plan a wedding for the rulers, but Zipp and Pipp are far less enthusiastic about the whole thing.
As the virtually shared but not yet commonly named wish-themed winter holiday draws near, Misty and her friends are visiting Bridlewood, and there they happen to learn more about one of its inhabitants and his own habits around the holidays.
The rains of Bridlewood have long brought change to the forest's unicorn inhabitants. During one particular downpour, young widower Alphabittle Blossomforth has his life changed forever, in more ways than one.
When Misty discovers Senor Butterscotch, she asks Izzy about why she created the fake unicorn. Izzy reveals it all stems back to her childhood in Bridlewood.
Comet has a talk with his fellow unicorns Izzy and Misty about home as he tries to adjust to life in Maretime Bay. Izzy and Misty, in turn, share their thoughts based on their experiences.
